Broken within 12 months of use
Similar to mjdn99's comments, we were very attracted to this product's design. Operationally speaking however the unit has never worked. The cold water has never gone colder than lukewarm. In late June of 2024, the water pressure for the hot water fell off a cliff until the point it just stopped working all together. It appears this feedback is not limited to the Kohler forum as I was able to find a person with very similar issues on Reddit.
Kohler Thermostatic Valve
Beautiful product and shipped fast.
ส่งของเร็ว,แพ็คมาดี,ราคาดี
Stopped mixing at 9mo
Like others here and online, my valve stopped mixing correctly after about 9 months of use. One day the shower is working, the next it's only a trickle with warm water on (full pressure at cold).
The best custom recessed system out there
Ok, people
BUYER BEWARE! Failed within a year of use.
There's no question that this a BEAUTIFUL control. It's slick, it's modern, it's functional, and it's super cool to be able to press buttons to turn on and off the various components of the shower, while pre-setting the temperature to your liking so it's the same every time. Very cool. At face value and upon install, it was a 5-start product.
Service Review
I appreciate my decision to go with Kohler. We have had various issues while installing this valve with our plumbers. Some parts broken, missing during installation but every issues were handled by support team with great respect and understanding. After multiple tries by our plumbers and no right installation, Kohler sent their plumbers to take care of the installation issues. Randy's plumbing was given the task and they booked appointment soon after they were given orders and technician arrived on scheduled time, fixed everything within hours. Many days of frustration with the shower installation but at the end with the help of great service by Kohler it is satisfying to see running shower.
Bad product
Just finished serving one of these (I'm a plumber) customer had it installed hardly ovet a year ago, had no hot water. Ended up costing them $1000 in labor to find the problem after 3 trips. Stick with stand shower valves
Do not purchase
Cannot get the temp to regulate. Calling Kohler and it takes two days to receive a call back. Need help!
Great Instruction Video
My father-in-law and husband installed this item. I found the instruction video very informative. I do want to stress that you pay close attention to the minimum and maximum lines. We had planned the tile to line right up with the max line but did not account for the mortar. Luckily we had just enough space (with all the piping, niche, vent) behind it, to push it forward to be within those lines.
Worst Product Ever
I agree with the one other review on this product. I’ve had nothing but issues with regulating the water temperature, finding replacement cartridges, even finding the parts page on this website (apparently there isn’t one). Because of the rectangular shape I just can’t blow out 10k worth of waterproofing and tile to replace the entire valve. Miserable all the way around!
WHY DOESN'T MY ATHEM WORK?
NEED RXPERT! The Anthem system is beautiful & very convenient to use for all of the shower/tub combinations. However, my plumber had great difficulty installing it. I've heard such opposing experiences and I wish JONNIE Z could help troubleshoot for me.
great product
excellent choice . works as described
Knocking in one of the cartridges
Installed the kholer anthem two port valve. Called kohler. They said the knocking was water hammer. All my pipes are strapped and even installed a water hammer resistor on the valve body of the plugged ports. Still hear knocking. Switched the wand and the shower cartridge same problem with the one cartridge. I need help kohler!!!! Stop telling me to do what I already know.
Beautiful item if your plumbing pipes are the correct size
Sales reps should tell their customers that this only works with 3/4 inch plumbing
THE BOLD LOOK OF KOHLER MAKES MY NEW BATHROOM A SPA
I purchased the three port Anthem thermostatic mixing valve about six weeks ago at the start of my bathroom complete remodel. I’m a custom builder in Philadelphia PA and constantly spec and recommend Kohler products because of their exceptional quality, outstanding value and amazing aesthetics and unmatched customer service. It was a no brainer Kohler products exclusively would be installed in my new bathroom. I wanted the latest technology, eye appeal and convenience in my shower and Anthem completely filled my requirements. My three different shower heads each and all together operate at the simple touch of a button. No knobs to turn or adjust, the Anthem has a mind of its own and remembers everything.
Main functionality is great! Could use a few tweaks
I had this installed this month. I give it an A+ for the reasons I bought it.... (1) temperature stays absolutely steady when someone flushes the toilet or runs the dishwasher or whatever. (2) We can easily change the volume of water without affecting that temperature. I give it a B for two things I did not anticipate. (1) It hums when one of the outlets is set to the lowest volume position. (2) The variation of temperature allowed seems somewhat limited. We had choices of tepid-to-hot or cool-to-tepid. We elected for tepid-to-hot.... but it means we never will get truly cool water out of the shower. Have to use the sink for that.
Great design
I bought this over a month ago and hired a plumber to install it. Unfortunately the instructions aren’t very clear so installation was a bit difficult, especially if your plumber hasn’t installed these types of system before. Luckily Kohler’s customer service and technical support teams were very helpful and emailed me additional instructions and YouTube videos. I had originally received the part scratched up and called Kohler, they were able to send me a replacement overnight. Overall, I am happy with the customer service and the product has not been installed for a few weeks, it’s been working great without any issues. The design itself is sleek and clean looking, love it.
very poor instructions
I have been a master plumber for 35 years. no instructions with valve or trim kit just a few pictures. I expect more from Kohler. Handle turns like it has grit in it, not smooth.
Great Product
Love this mechanical valving! We wanted to go digital but that was going to be too much work for our set up and this was a perfect replacement.
