I replaced old 80s fluorescent lights in my kitchen with these. Absolutely a joy to put up. I installed 6 lights with 2 of those having a floor joist directly above it. The profile of these lights are such, that the install perfectly when a joist would be in your way with other types of recessed lighting. Current bids I received to put 6 lights in varies between $200-$300/light for a total of $1,2000 - $1,800. I spent $150 on these lights and another $50 for additional wire.

Good quality lights for decent price

I got these lights to replace some older light fixtures and they have been great. Installation was not too difficult, and the quality of light is so much better than what I had before. I love that they can be dimmable, as well as energy efficient when they're on full power. The ability to choose the temperature of the light is amazing. The thinness of the lights makes them easy to place where you want them. So far, they seem durable! They were also packaged very well.

Awesome downlights!

I received the Halo Slim Canless Downlight Value 6 pack from Influenster for free in exchange for my honest opinion. My husband and I have been slowly replacing the downlighting in our home so I’ve seen a lot of different options available, and these are definitely some of the best. I love that they are super slim. My biggest complaint (and reason we’ve returned many other brands) is because they aren’t slim enough. These are perfect. I love the amount of light they give off; they make a huge difference in a room. They are dimmable so they work with our dimmer switches, and you can adjust the hue (5 options) on the junction box which is awesome. My husband likes that there was no recessed housing, and the junction box was repositionable. They’re also shower safe which is cool! We are definitely purchasing more of these and highly recommend them!

The high hat is easy to install and the instructions are simple and clear. The design of the product avoids many of the sharp edges and failures of its competitors while also possessing the durability needed to kid break durning installation. The light is efficient and bright, and the color changing is nice to have. Brighter than my old bulb and uses 99% less power.

very easy to install and versatile

these lights are much easier to install than traditional can lights or electrical boxes with fixtures hanging on them. you just run a wire to area cut 6-inch hole anywhere even over a beam and pull wire out hook it up to electrical box, then you just plug light in and stick it up in ceiling with spring loaded clips. very easy and bright light. they last very long amount of time and to change you just pull out old one and put new one in

Ballast Failures

So far of the 13 installed, 2 ballasts have failed. I have another ~20 in box that I was intending to install, but may look elsewhere now.

Taking one star off only because they aren't a standard mount size of 6-3/8". Other than that, love 'em. The mounting hole is smaller than the hole saw that Lowe's is selling. These require a 6-1/8 hole saw according to the dimension guide and the hole saw that Lowe's carries is 6-3/8". I borrowed the saw from a buddy that I helped install recessed lights and went ahead and drilled away. Got the light installed and then realized that the hole was just a tad too big. Not a huge deal. Just have to adjusted the light to cover up the edge of the hole. Luckily I only did one light so no biggy and it's a light we hardly ever use or easy to see. Needless to say, I had to hop on the Amazonian interwebs and get the right size hole saw.

No way these are as bright as claimed

Adjustable, bright and easy to install.

These are great lights. Easy install, 5 choices of light tone from bright white to warm white, and push to attach to wiring. I used 12 of these in our new construction barndo and just bought this 6 pack to add 3 more lights. Either new or old work doesn't matter. Just cut the 6 1/8" hole in the sheet rock and use the spring clamps to slide it up into place. They're so low profile I was able to add one directly under a ceiling joist so it would be centered over the stove. So far they have worked perfectly except for a single time when I made a mistake. I thought one of the wiring push nuts wasn't working. In fact, it was that I hadn't pushed the wire into the nut completely. Just a note - once in, they're in. The grab mechanism on the wire push nuts (sorry, not a professional so these probably have a more technical name) is strong. Be sure your wiring is where you want it before locking it in.

Almost perfect

I bought these to replace a hanging light in my kitchen and to add/replace other lights so they would all be the same. The lights worked perfect in the location where my hanging light was and the new light I was adding because the holes were small. Both locations required these thin lights because of a floor joist running above the light. I was skeptical at first but very pleased with the final results. The other two lights I replaced were existing can lights over the kitchen sink. The installation wasn't bad after removing old cans but unfortunately the new lights are exactly 6 3/4" outside diameter and my holes in ceiling are about 6 3/4" - 6 7/8". The lights will work for now but I will probably end up popping in an 8" light down the road to account for this little annoyance. I can't fault the light maker but I'm sure this happens to others that replace cans with these. I searched for the "can replacement" lights but nothing on the marked had the same outer appearance so all 4 would be the same.
