Don't trust Lowe's search engine

So, this kit will come up in a search for direct to stud enclosures. It is not. Glue on walls.

Definitely not DIRECT TO STUD installation!

I bought this specifically because the description clearly states "Direct to Stud" installation. Now that my base is already installed and plumbed, my contractor is concerned about the surround wall pieces. And has to add sheetrock backing to continue the install. Had I known this, I would have gone a completely different path for the shower in my addition.

The transition from the shower walls to the shower pan is awful it sure doesn't go in the way the video shows ..... I got it in but don't recommend it to others very over priced for the quality

Awesome shower. My husband and daughter put this shower in. Had to do a lot releveling do to old house not being level. It definitely was a learning project. We watched a lot of y tube to put base in. We love it.

Shower only is a much cleaner look.

Perfect replacement for old tub; visually opens up the room better than old tub/shower curtain

Surround is junk

The surround for this kit is absolutely trash. It's made to where it doesn't stick to the wall plus expects u to put it up with metal pieces with screws adding like 20 holes. It's just asking for water damage. Do not recommend

shower wall are only made for 30" base

i bought this months ago and cant return. the design is made for the 30" penal base. if you go with 36 wide or 42" wide the design will not be in the center and it looks like garbage. the taps will be to the side of the panel

Poor quality

I ordered this kit for my new build house. The fitment was poor and the walls kids were very flimsy. I ended up having to scrap the entire kit and go with something else.

Overall very nice but hardi backer is a must for best results

Over nice shower . Instructions should not say direct to stud as option . The walls are to thin and plastic inserts for shelves or anywhere else have nothing to grab to ifthere isnt a stud there. It should be hardi backed completely for best results .

Garbage

Flimsy and cheap material. Had it professionally installed and the unit itself is unacceptable. Visible seams even with tons of caulking and filler. Looks like it belongs in a motel 6. If we could tear it out and return it we would. If lucky it will last a year without leaking into the wall and then we will have to start over. Probably the worst item we have ever purchased from Lowe's.

Expected more for the price

Very difficult to install (even for experienced builder). Nothing is built to fit like a “shower kit” should. Every piece has to be cut to size.

Dreamline makes an excellent product. I am a professional contractor and have installed many of their products over the years. This particular kit was relatively easy to install for our customer. Removed and old fiberglass one-piece tub shower unit. Had some plumbing to relocate then set the shower base level in thinset for a good solid base. Installed backer board on the studs and sealed with aqua defense. Panel glue up was easy and quick as was installing the corner and lap trim. Shower door was a little challenging as you have to assemble the frame before setting in place, but once installed makes a very nice enclosure for the shower.

Beautiful however wouldn’t recommend

Ours came with a wall with a patch in the bottom for the amount of money this costs I expect it to be in pristine condition. Considering has a patch tells me they knew there was a major blimish which is very noticeable

Came damaged!

Shower pan came damaged at the left front corner due to someone/something hitting the box. Was able to repair the fiberglass corner as I have that experience. The shower panels are flimsy and seem to maintain their shape from the way they were placed in the box. Again, additional work to sunbake them to lye flat. All in all, a fair price for the product.

Walls are not as pictures

My contractor purchased this Shower Kit and the sidewall decorating mold will only work for a 30 inch depth. The Kit he purchased has a 36 inch depth. It looked so awful that my contractor took it back out to replace it with vinyl tile. The walls are also very thin. At that price point you should expect more!!! I contacted the manufacturer and they said they were sorry but that's the way it is.

The materials are very flimsy and does not present a classy shower installation. I would not recommend this product. Cheaply made but not inexpensive. I spent a lot of time and money remodeling my bathroom and the addition of this shower does not add to workmanship of the remodel.

This looks SHARP. I agree with some other commenters that it would be better if the directions stated clearly that it needed some furring (so?) strips between the wall and the sides, but our contractor was able to figure it out!

IF I COUKD ONLY FIND OUT WHEN IT WILL COME! Being a handicapped senior, if I cannot schedule my contractor simultaneous to delivery, I will have to live with my new shower sitting in my driveway, in the rain, until my contractor avails himself. I know this is an excellent shower. I have a friend who had one installed. I love the possibilities.
