Do Not Buy - Gas Leak

We purchased this product in May. Nice looking cooktop. We never used the burners on the front of the stove due to child safety precautions. Over the past three months there was a buildup of gas leaking from one of the valves in the manifold, and one day caused an explosion that blew our cabinet doors open. We contacted the gas company and one of their technicians discovered where the leak was coming from and told use to stop using it immediately. Not comfortable with using this product so we tried returning back to the store but they have a horrible 48 hour policy. Working with our credit card company with their purchase protection support.

Great BTUs in a solid design

We bought this range for our new house and have been very happy so far. It was easy to connect and it started right up. The burners light very quick, on the first or second “click” every time.

BAD QUALITY, LOOKS BAD AFTER YOU START USING IT.

I bought this cooktop a month ago Because it looks great when it's unused in the store display. But you will regret it after you start using it. It's not possible to clean the cooktop using the recommended method from LG. also tried different cooktop cleaners. nothing works and it looks bad after a month.

Updated: Lighter keeps turning ON (Resolved)

Update : I contacted LG and they immediately responded with a service technician the next day itself. The connection in the electrical point was reversed and it caused the lighting. Once I fixed it as they recommended, the lighting stopped. I am changing the rating as result of it. I was also very happy with the speedy response from LG.

Great cooktop!

Great cooktop! Like the layout of the burners and controls. The 20,000 BTU center burner works well and the ability to turn the burners down to a very low simmer is handy. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that there's no "burner on" indicator light. Other gas cooktops we've had featured them and it was helpful to know, at a glance, whether a burner had inadvertently been left on. That being said, just check the burners and knob positions before leaving the kitchen.

poor quality

Very disappointed with quality of the product. the burners and black cover stained within 15 days of use. The knobs are plastic and already chipped off. Very disappointing with spending on LG cooktop. DO NOT recommend at all, please do not spend.

I got this LG cooktop in January but was installed in March because of the kitchen remodel. My wife used it twice and now there are stains on the silver head below the black cover that can not be cleaned. Horrible purchase and would definitely not recommend. Stay away.

[Rewarded Review] Gorgeous stove - 5 burners

This 30” stainless steel stove top is high quality. There are 5 burners and 5 knobs. There is a rapid heat option to get your water boiling quicker. The grades are made of something strong like cast iron. The knobs are removable for easy clean. The surface is large enough to cook multiple items at once making it easier to host gathering to enjoy family. Overall impressed with the stove top and cannot wait to make my first meal.

Ordering and delivery from Home Depot was great.We've had it since just before Christmas. Had product installed by certified appliance guy. We started smelling slight gas so bought a propane gas detector to see if there was gas. Alarm went off so we contacted our gas company who immediately responded and determined there was no leaking at any of the external connections but that the leak was coming from within the unit. Gas was shut off and LG was contacted. They sent out a service guy who did indeed discover there were leaks at both interior inlet connections.....bolts were loose....something he's never come across in his warranty servicing! He tightened the bolts, reassembled unit, and all has been great since then. We are currently in discussion with LG to have them cover our gas company bill. Unit works great. Runs hotter than our previous GE unit and there are only low, medium, and high markings on knobs whereas we had been use to numbers. Low is not as low as we'd like. It may be that our previous 17 year old GE unit wasn't running up to par. Also not a big fan of all the controls at the front of the unit as they get splattered on and dirty much easier. Love the 5th center burner!!!! Unit/grates also sit up higher than we'd been use to. Need to use it a little longer to get a good determination on whether we like it!

[Rewarded Review] Nothing better than an LG

I have always loved LG products, they are so reliable and so modern and sleek. The installation of this LG cooktop was very straightforward, the instructions were very easy to follow. It plugs into a regular outlet so there was no call to an electrician for special wiring. Remember to use soap water to make sure there were no gas leaks. The 3 iron grates are heavy and well made. It lights right up. I like the electronic ignition so much better than a pilot light always lit burning gas. The 5 burners give me plenty of choices when I am cooking and there is plenty of room for several pans, with the holiday coming I will be using the LG cooktop everyday and showing it off every chance I get.

[Rewarded Review] A burner size for every pot

I love the looks of the new top, very clean. The five cooktop burners come in four different sizes, ranging from 2-3/8 inches to 3-3/4 inches. (see photo) This is important to me when I cook with small pans and skillets, the flame doesn't heat up or burn the handles.

[Rewarded Review] Modern and with great finished.

This is a very modern and elegant gas cook top. The finished around the gas control knobs is like a gun metal finished. The rest of the cook top color is glossy black but the grills and the burner plates are flat black. I like that it came with LP gas kit conversion which is simply replacing the burner gas nozzle. It came with it's own regulator for natural gas use. Very nice cooktop.

[Rewarded Review] The best yet

Our 12-year-old cooker was getting past its sell date and the cleaning of it at least once a week was tedious with having to soak the top first before it could be cleaned. We have only been using it for a short time but already it shows no signs of a build up unlike our old one.

[Rewarded Review] Wow, this is a huge upgrade over my previous stove

The 30" Black Stainless Cooktop with 5 Burners from LG is a gorgeous addition to my kitchen. My old stovetop was ugly and hard to clean, and it took a while for the burners to light. I love everything about this cooktop and am super happy with the switch. I did run into one issue, but it my issue during installation. The cutout for my previous unit was approx. 1/4" undercut from this unit (so measure your cutout first). I had to cut the excess out to make the hole bigger and made a huge mess in my kitchen. Anyway, the 3 burner grates make things super easy to clean underneath and the flat surface they create is one of the best parts. I hated having to make sure my pots and pans were securely placed on my old burners with individual grates and it would scare me when they would slide off crooked (my lack of attention obviously). That can't happen here with the flat surface the grates create. I also love having the control knobs up front. My old one had them on the side and I could never remember which knob turned on which burner. This unit is amazing and I would definitely purchase again. The electrical plug and gas line hookup was a piece of cake, but make sure you buy a new hose because it doesn't come with one.

[Rewarded Review] Powerful Stove

We had our GE Profile stove for 10 years and recently upgraded all of our kitchen appliances, including the dishwasher, in-wall oven, microwave, stove, and hood, to KitchenAid. The total tech installation team came to our house and informed me that the KitchenAid stove we initially ordered didn't work well with our countertop. So, I had to cancel that order and select a different one with lower height and higher BTU for my stir-fry cooking needs. After researching, I found this model with a high BTU (18K) and a compact design suitable for our installation. I placed the order on July 12th, but it was challenging to get it in stock and installed. Finally, on September 2nd, we had it installed, and it's been working beautifully! The installation team, who had been to our place several times for other appliances, was highly professional and helpful. The stove itself is of high quality, powerful enough for cooking, and I'm extremely satisfied with this purchase.

Would Buy LG From Nebraska Again - Great Experience

This cooktop, along with matching dishwasher, single oven, OTR microwave and refrigerator have been outstanding and we have really enjoyed using it. Nebraska has been outstanding, starting with our sales person Tim M., delivery staff and to our installers, Blue Sky who did a wonderful job. Not even the smallest detail was missed. All in all, a great experience for us. Kudos, guys!!
