Perfect for Adding Photocell to Pillar-mounted Light.

I haven't installed this adapter yet, but it fits perfectly with my lamp and the #9592 Kichler pedestal mount that I bought with it. I bought it because I want to control a pillar-mounted lamp with a photocell for dusk-to-dawn operation. I wanted the shortest possible "post" that would accommodate a photocell, and this fits the bill precisely.

I purchased this product to fit on top of a new 7-ft outdoor light post. Installation was relatively easy although the fit was rather loose. That problem was solved with a couple wraps of duck tape. The unit comes with only 2 small screws and that's why it was necessary to get a tight fit using duck tape. The photo sensor control was easy to install and works well.

Photocell came on a little after dusk, worked for two hours, then just quit.

I mounted this collar on a plate that was already mounted on a brick column in front of my parents home. I had to drill a small hole because one hole did not match the two threaded screw holes in the existing plate on the column. Mounting was easy and resulted in a solid attachment to the plate. The wiring instructions were clear and very easy to follow. I wired a newly purchased yard light to the photo cell wiring and mounted the light onto the collar. I tested the installation by putting black electrical tape over the sensor (it takes about 1 minute before the light turns on). All worked well, as advertised! I purchased this collar because I was not able to find a replacement light with a photo cell that was NOT solar powered. I needed a light that could be wired into the existing electrical feed. This collar was perfect in that I could wire it to the electrical feed and it came with the photo cell attached. Most importantly, my parents are very happy with the new yard light!

Used this post to connect with a mounting plate to install a globe lamp on an brick column. It was a replacement. It was easy to install with the mounting plate, and the globe was no problem affixing. The photo light sensor is great, and worked the first night without a problem. Looks good with simple design. The instructions were great to use and helpful in making the job quick. The matte black finish complements the large poly white globe.
