We need to replace the single handle cartridge after 12 years and the soap dispenser. We like it so much we bought another for when this one fails because it looks like it’s gone out of production. You have to use care with the type of soap used in the dispenser, some clog it, others don’t.
the downside
I bought the delta brand to replace a moen fixture similar in design. The magnet faucet does not snap back into place like I had hoped. The hot cold is difficult to control. I wish there was a pause button to stop flow from handheld faucet.
Drips frequently
The faucet doesn’t turn the water off well - if we don’t have the handle in the exact right spot, it continues to run a trickle of water. Then when I think I’ve got it turned off correctly I often come back later to find it’s been dripping. Hate it! Way too expensive to drip so easily. And it runs up our water bill.
Faulty Design
It is very difficult to get this faucet in the exact position where it doesn't drip. There are many reviews saying the same, and I am frankly baffled that there are so many 5 star reviews as well. Delta's response is to engage in a lengthy process to flush out the hot and cold lines. I had this faucet for about 9 months and finally threw it out. The faucet I replaced it with requires no such flushing and easily turns off without drips. In my opinion this faucet design is defective and should not be sold.
Delta 9178 review
Pleased with the faucet. Online order efficient. Easy install for our plumber. Some negative reviews noted problems with the dock. Our plumber noted that the dock weight can easily be moved up and secured in a tight fitting under counter space like ours to make the docking efficient and crisp. We have had the faucet only couple of weeks but like it. Much better than the not too old similar, and expensive, Moen we replaced which had chronic leak and loose handle issues and very challenging to work on due to design of access to the handle mechanism.
Beautiful faucet, good spray pressure. Highly recommend.
Beautiful faucet. I was concerned it would be too tall, but it is perfect. It is the first faucet I've used with a magnetic dock for the spray. I am very impressed. I was worried because some of the reviews on these types of faucets were somewhat disconcerting. We have not had it very long, so time will tell if the hose will always retract properly, but at this point my husband and I are very pleased with this purchase. We chose Delta because that is what the plumber recommended. Since my sink had a hole for a separate sprayer I opted to purchase the coordinating soap dispenser. So happy I did.

This faucet exceeded my expectations. Overall it is well built, I would note the base it sits on is plastic but that is a nit comment. It works fine, the detachable spray nozzle is great with 3 types of spray. I also noticed it uses less water than my old faucet which should help with water conservation. The hot / cold water lever is easy to manipulate. I'm so glad to have purchased this faucet, it will be a great selling point when I sell my house later this year.

We like the faucet very much, style and configuration. We purchased it because we had to find one that would fit the predrilled hole placement in our stone counter when replacing an older faucet. We also liked that it was a brand that would be easy to find replacement parts for. Unfortunately I couldn’t give it a 5 star review because it has the same 2 issues that previous reviewers have indicated...the water sometimes keeps running or dripping if it is not shut off exactly in the center of the hot and cold and the little cover that goes over the set screw holding the handle on popped off within the first week and went down the disposal. But we still like it and it seems that it will hold up better than the pricey Kohler that required repeated plumber intervention that we we were replacing

I researched and read many reviews before buying this faucet. Only a week after I had a plumber install it is working well and a good value for the money. I noted that other reviewers had mentioned the need to shut off in a precise manner so as not to drip. I don’t final that an issue— simply center the handle and bring it down. No big deal. The only issue is the finish— I purchased arctic stainless and do not care for it. It looks cheap. The separate handle looks like a different manufacture lot is slightly different “color” stainless than the faucet.
Good faucet, bronze finish match could be better
The faucet functions extremely well. the controls on the sprayer are in an excellent position and make this an extremely nice faucet. The flow control when off is centered in the middle between hot and cold, so if you flip the water on straight up, it's a medium temperature. Other flow control systems allow you to turn off the water on hot or on cold or wherever. To turn off the water, the control handle will always have to be in the middle. I'm sure we'll get used to this.
Dripping Faucet
The Delta Leland Single handle pulldown Kitchen faucet looks great. However we are getting a drip from the spray nozzle. Where do I get replacement parts and what parts do I need? Are there washers someplace which can be replaced instead of replacing the entire faucet? What does the warranty cover? I believe the faucet we have is model 978 with the Arctic stainless finish and the magnetite stocking sprayer head. I can’t find an exact model number on the unit. The Fossett came with the house and we are the original owners. It’s about nine years old. The problem is getting replacement parts.

I have had mine installed now for about 2 years. It still looks brand new and the pull down hose still retracts nicely. I have seen other hoses at my friends house that you have to push back into the spout or it will just hang. I have no problems with that. My boyfriend installed it within an hour and only need my help for 3 minutes to hold the nozzle while he screwed it on underneath the sink. I put Dawn in the soap dispenser and use it constantly. My favorite purchase by far.

I am so disappointed with this faucet. We had it installed by a plumber (additional $$$) and it drips constantly if you do not hit the exact middle of the "V". And I mean exact. Everytime you shut off of the faucet you have to maneuver the handle around to get the exact spot. Also, the switch that turns it from faucet to sprayer does not automatically go back to faucet after you turn it off so the next time the water is turned on, if the sprayer was left on it sprays water all over. I would definitely NOT recommend this faucet. I'm listening to it drip as I write this so have to go try and get it to stop...again. I hate this thing.

So I do really like the faucet. It’s good quality and for most part almost 5 star. There’s just a couple things I would change. The neck hangs a little lower than I thought it would. Not a huge deal but check measurements.
Frustrated with the quality
We remodeled our kitchen 7 yrs ago and installed the Leland faucet system with soap dispenser. We love the look of it. However, the faucet has never worked correctly, always dripping or slowly running until you jiggle the handle to get it to turn off. And now pieces of black plastic are falling apart from the inside of the sleeve assembly and dropping out onto our counter top. Today, our soap dispenser has suddenly stopped working. You push it down for soap and it stays down, with a tiny trickle of soap coming out. I wish things would last longer than several years.

The first thing I noticed before installation is how cheap this product feels in hand. I guess this is what $300.00 gets you today. The second day after installation the magnet broke from the spout and the spout assembly became loose. I tightened it up and called Delta. They sent me 6 replacement magnets and 2 installation tools. It has been 3 months now and we have broken all 6 magnets from the spout and the sprayer just hangs in the sink. My wife wants to just throw this piece of junk in the trash and buy a new better one, if that is possible in this price range. It also is always dripping too unless you close the handle just right. My wife complains daily and reminds me to never buy anything Delta again. I decided to call Delta again today to see if I could get a new spout thinking maybe mine is defective causing the magnets to prematurely fail. I spoke with John and he informed me my 3 month old Delta faucet's spout is not available anymore, wonderful!!!!! He offered 70% off their list price for a comparable product which amounts to practically nothing since their list prices are so high compared to the same item here at Home Depot. I rarely write reviews but it seems as if everything these days is made to last just briefly compared to 30 to 40 years ago when faucets lasted for decades not days like today's garbage. So NO I cannot recommend this faucet to anyone based on my experience unless you like hearing your wife complain a lot. Oh and BTW my wife told me today that the spout assembly loosened under the sink again. Darn brass nut on plastic spout threads, poor setup. My last spout was all metal and for less money too. I think I will be looking at Kingston Brass again
I really love this faucet. As per the other reviews, it does take some getting used to when it comes to figuring out the right placement to get the water temp you prefer. Other reviews also complained about the water pressure being to high... If you open it all the way, yes the pressure will be high and water will splash everywhere. Simply close the faucet a little to decrease the pressure. It seems like common sense to me as we don't open our two handle faucets all the way to use them. The same is true for this.

This product should really be 5 stars, but the water temperature seems to be difficult to control. Either it is too hot, or too cold. Although there is a switch under the handle to limit its movement toward the hot, it actually limits it so much that you cannot even get warm water. I would suggest having a screw type shut off valve to limit the amount of hot water that can go through. This may allow you to control the temperature much better, but since I have not yet replaced my valve, I do not know if that will really work.
Beautiful poor design!
It's beautiful, definitely. BUT...the curve on the faucet is so tight, the water hits the sink only 6-8 inches from the back of the sink. So...when you put a pot in there to fill up, the pot has to be moved so far back to get water in it, you end up hitting the handles with the pot...which turns the after off. Totally clueless design.
Excellent!
I replaced a Kohler faucet with this Delta 978-DST. I'm very satisfied. I bought the faucet through a plumbing service company, which also did the installation. I could have installed it myself, but the plumber did it in maybe one-third the time and pointed out things that I might have missed - e.g, greasing all threaded parts, how to remove and clean the aerator (which takes a special wrench that is supplied), how to replace the valve cartridge, and basically how the whole faucet goes together. Plus, I hate lying on my back under a sink.
