When we moved in we ripped up all the carpet with no issue. This room however, was different carpet from the rest and glue had been used. This glue was impossible to get up. Eventually we gave in and decided sanding and refinishing would be best. We spent about a day sanding this down with many grits. After we cleaned all the dust off the walls and floor, we stained with minwax stain. We waited 24 hours to apply this product. We applied a second coat after two hours. We applied a very thin layer with lambswool applicator. We kept the house somewhere between 72-75 for 7 days. We completed this in Ohio in mid March so there was no outside humidity. We moved in after 7 days. This is our bedroom so no heavy traffic but it is absolutely beautiful. Photos from start to finish are included in the review. I would recommend!

[Rewarded Review] Outstanding floor finish!

I received the Minwax Ultimate Floor Finish Professional Formula from Influenster and Sherwin Williams for my honest feedback. My family has an older house with hardwood floors that needed to be redone. My son has been helping me with this and the process has taken longer than expected especially since the floor needed to be sanded first and stains removed. Thus far, we have been throughly impressed with the Satin floor finish. It is quick drying with a 2 hour recoat time and no sanding was needed after the first application. Since this is a polyurethane product we both wore masks and kept the room vented by opening windows. As you can see in the photos the results are astonishing. Our old floor looks new again. 1 gallon covers up to 500 square feet. 1 room down 1 to go. Highly recommend!!

It’s not often that I refinish my floor but when I do, I will make sure to use Minwax Ultimate Floor Finish. This stuff is super easy to use and is pretty forgiving with application. The water-based formula made it easy on my nose and lungs and clean up was a cinch. Application was simple as the hardest part of the process was the initial sand, that’s how good this formula is. I love that I didn’t have to sand in between coats because I hate sanding. I used their lambs wool applicator which was perfect for the job. My floor came out really good. Way better than I thought it would considering I did it so quickly. This dried fast but has no cloudiness. I am really happy. My floors look revived and I’m not so nervous to have my puppies on it.

Miniwax Ultimate Floor Finish is top of the line stuff! We decided to improve the look of our high traffic breezeway steps since they were looking really shabby, but after using this Floor finish we we totally impressed with the final outcome of our project, I mean just look at the difference in the before and after pictures! Miniwax Proffesional formula floor finish went on very smooth, and it didn't take a lot of product, dried within two hours, and didn't have harsh fumes while applying. I was surprised that this Floor finish didn't dry sticky like some finishes do, it dried into a smooth satin finish as promised! We now want to remodel our bathroom floors in wood just to be able to use the rest of this floor finish, we like it that much!

This is a great floor finish. The best part is being very low odor. It dries fast and the smell is not detectable by the time it dries. It was not tacky and ready to walk on in 24 hours. I used 10” stain pad from the same brand for my project. It paired like a dream with very minimal product waste! The floor finish brings out the natural beauty of wood.

Thank you Influenster and Minwax for sending me the Ultimate Floor Finish. This floor finish is designed to restore wood floors making them more aesthetically pleasing and durable. This is a water water based formula that claims to have less odor than solvent based, I immediately noticed that it did not have the strong chemical scent I have experienced with other products. The floor finish applied easily and evenly, it cures quickly allowing to recoat in 2 hours without sanding in between. Before using on my floors I tested this product on a custom oak children’s table I am restoring, I was unsure about the gloss finish but the stain itself is really beautiful. While imperfections and debris can be more prominent on a gloss finish, it creates such shine and a more dramatic look that I love. Unfortunately the lamb skin stain pad that came with the bundle shed really bad causing lint to mix into the fresh stain. It created a mess and stalled my project. I am unable to speak on the durability of this product long term or how it would hold up on high traffic floor areas. I would still like to try this product on my floors but I would need a few more cans to cover all the surface area I need as one gallon only cover about 400 sq Ft. The product itself is very easy to use and beautiful. I just think I would need it better prep and application products next time I try to use it.
