Never buy

After having it for less than 6months I have had issues with mine. I have try to reach out for help and seem to get no where with the help. This is a warning don't buy this.

I am VERY pleased with my purchase. I graduated from 2 box's on my dresser to this guy!!!

So much room for improvement...

The LOUD whirring and clicking is awful. This price point deserves better insulation. Needs to come with 5 drawers instead of 3. Impossible to determine water level. Customer service unresponsive.

Good purchase, but needs some improvements

Fits a ton of cigars, love the lighting and the overall look. Buttons for control panel could use to light up. It would be nice to be able to see the amount of water in the tank without undergoing a time consuming project. And lastly WHY IS IT SO LOUD!!! The thing is pinging, binging and making more noise than a malfunctioning droid. Be aware that wherever you place it, it will make noise. A lot and rather annoying noise. If you have a place to put it where the noise doesn't matter, then get this unit. Everything else is just a suggestion for improvement.

Works great once calibrated.

I have had the 840 for several months now. At first the readings on both temp and humidity were off. Which I know will not be perfect out of box. Looked up how to calibrate. The calibration settings are in celsius only from what I can tell. Easy enough to figure out to fahrenheit.. Once all is set and tested with meters on each shelf and dialed in. It is perfect now to store and age what I want. It has about 300+ - cigars and working perfectly.

This humidor is awesome. Holds temp and humidity perfectly. Loaded up all my cigars right into it with no seasoning at all as it worked right away. Ran it for 24 hours empty prior to loading them in and that was it highly recommend this to any serious cigar smoker.

So far I love the humidor. I removed one star because my temp and humidity screen are off center and slightly and I can only see the first half of the numbers. Also, the temp monitor is accurate however the humidity is not (checked with multiple properly calibrated hygrometers). Lastly, the compressor is obnoxiously loud. Luckily I have mine in the basement where it doesn't bother me as much. Overall 4 out of 5 stars!

Quality unit

This is an amazing picture of equipment. Keeps steady averages both temp and humidity. Only drawback is the loud valve that makes noise from time to time. Otherwise, I'd buy another one if needed.

These are awesome humidors... I now own three of them, because my collection continues to grow - totally love the digital humidity control built-in to these larger 840 & 1500 count humidors. The LED light on the larger units are a HUGE improvement... totally worth the investment. Note: Small design improvement for Newair would be reversible left/right option for door swing to better customize my setup placement. FYI: At first I bought a cheaper humidor 'deal' from another company and later regretted it - the worst part was whenever the power went out due to a thunderstorm, the cheap-o unit defaulted to max cooling and completed disrupted the relative humidity drying out my cigars sucking out all the moisture. Avoid cheap units and be frugal & wise... buy the best! Cheers... /P

[Rewarded Review] Beautiful unit

The NewAir 840 is a beautiful unit that appears very well built. I love the design, ability to control both temperature and humidity, and Spanish cedar drawers. There are very few drawbacks - 1) the unit makes different types of noises that, while not loud with other background noise, could be loud in a quieter room. 2) Also wish a 4th drawer (and maybe 5th) was included. 3) the distilled water fill line is difficult to see. Those 3 drawbacks, for me, are minor compared to the many benefits of the unit. Early days of ownership but so far so good and hopeful. #sweepstakes

Looks great, holds a ton of cigars. This machine is very noisy. If it was not for the noise it would get 5 stars.

Disappointed

Unfortunately, my unit's compressor didn't work so the temperature kept rising to unacceptable levels. The temperature alarm would sound after just a couple of hours of use. I've decided to unplug the unit and use Boveda to humidify. The humidor is solidly built but I'm very disappointed in my purchase overall.

I love the unit! It's working great! Would give it 5 stars if the handle was easier to install and the shelves would have been taller. Overall, great price for the humidor!
