I ended up returning this heater, reason compared to infrared it just doesn't seem to heat the same. My guess it possibly runs cheaper, and yes it does radiate heat, just not what I was expecting. Now if I had a infant and looking to keep a nursery warmer, it would be perfect because obvious to me safer. BUT if a toddler, I'd be worried they pull it over, the heater is heavy and metal so if pulled over on a toddler and it hit their foot it certainly would break it. So perfect for some areas, and just unfortunately not for my purpose.
