Only tried it once, since I bought it when we have storms and I use my generator, but it worked fine to cool the bedroom. It seems quiet. The window fixture doesn't fit my type of window very well, but I will fix something that will do better.

Performs above expectations! On delivery had no idea how I was going to lift unit out of box but surprise, it is packed like a box in a box so by tipping unit was able to slide unit off platform.Next challenge, set up. Instructions were flawless, in 30 minutes had unit up and running.Did not want to use dehumidifier (too much trouble to empty) so set on high fan at 75 degrees & in about an hour my 94 degree bedroom was perfectly cool. Before next summer will be purchasing a second unit for living/kitchen area. Thank you Whynter

[Rewarded Review] The only con is there's is no vertical adjustment

Much quieter than my old one. I don't have to turn up the volume on my TV anymore and I don't have to constantly drain it. Would be 5 stars if the louvers had a vertical adjustment option. It does get a little condensation around the louvers but only when it's been very hot and humid outside

I have 354 square feet so expected for this to be able to cool the whole room. But the only way it cooled like it should was when I divided the room. WAY short on your cool footage estimate.

I have purchased this product a 2nd time

I liked this one so much that I purchased a second one. The two features that are most important to me are the 3 speed fan and that it is a self evaporating unit that I never have to empty. For some reason, my home central air conditioning will not effectively cool my bedroom below 80°. I like to sleep at 70° and have no issues with the Whynter 12,000 BTU portable air conditioner. When the season is over, I will roll it into a closet until next summer. I put the 2nd unit in my TV room which has similar issues as the bedroom. The styling is great and the price was right. I highly recommend this unit.

Does not blow high or get cold enough. The piece that pulls out to put the washable filter on was hard to pull out and cracked when I pulled it out. Had small crack on the side

This machine puts out a surprisingly large amount of cool air with a powerful fan driving the cool air to all corners of the room.

Noisy and does not cool during Florida heat

I bought this for my enclosed small lanai. Within 24 hours or purchase it started making a loud rattling noise. Customer service gave me a list of things to try but nothing worked. Company was going to charge me to return even after sending a video of the loud noise. It rattles every time I have it on high speed. It never cools the room below 80 even with all the shades down. My room has energy efficient windows. Don’t waste your money. Buy a better brand

Whynter 12,000 Portable Air Conditioner

Purchased to cool 196 SF room…need to lower the thermostat on air conditioner lowest setting to be effective! Was easy to install hose, nice looking easy to move around, but feel doesn’t cool effectively unless fan at the highest setting and setting Must be on 62 to keep room cool

The customer service is very good. When it started regularly having issues bekng louder and thump the all power would go out tripping circuit breaker even thiugv it had its own dedixated outlet. Obviously that wasnt enough for this unit adter a year it needed to work hardwr and would never get as cold it once did. But arull i was frateful on those triple digit days last summer where it brought our family room down to at least 89 it just quit usually sometime between 4-7 peak hours thankfully i had the extended geek squad warranty for repair , replacem i took it i yeaterdat expecting to drop it off for repairs and was told they'd give me credit to buy another one since they had none in stock and diacontinued swllin them too maybek NOTHIBG THEY HAVE NOW TO BIT EVEN COMES CLOSE TO THE VALUE of my deal of the dat when I purchase the unit. I dont lime the replacement and will be taki g it back o TODAY
