I love my i6!
I've had my i6 now for almost 5 years and it's been spectacular! Super quiet and moves a ton of air! Keeps our home cool in the summer and keeps it warm in the winter!
Don't mount outside..
After only 18 months the black powder coating finish of my I6 is chipping and peeling. The company refused to address the issue and said the finish warranty is only 12 months. Think about that when you decide to drop $2200 on the world's most expensive, rugged, quality ceiling fan...
Outstanding Fan - Poor Light
I love the design, quality, and performance of my i6 fan. The i6 light, however, could be so much better. The light has 5 color temperatures to choose from. Each color has a name - Daylight to Warm - and none are pleasing. The two mid settings (Bright White or Soft White) are either too harsh (think garage fluorescent white) or too yellow (think the old sodium street lights yellow), while the other choices simply exaggerate these mid settings. Big Ass Fans should push a firmware update to provide another choice or to calibrate the existing settings to more pleasing temperatures. I regret buying the light and hope other customers benefit from this review. I highly recommend the i6 fan, but can’t recommend the i6 light.
DC fans are hard to start
Fan is super hard to start on setting 1 or 2, it wants to spin the opposite direction and won't even start, just rocks back and forth. I have to turn it up to at least 4 before it will start. You guys should add a macro to your fan, when starting on 1 or 2, start on 4 for a few seconds and then go down to 1 or 2. I have a video of it not working correctly if BAF would like to review it. The speed of the fan is great and the lighting kit is awesome! At this time I would not recommend this fan to a friend, I was really hoping this would work really well for the price, but nope.
Really like these
I have an outdoor brushed aluminum 6 on the patio, an indoor one in the great room and a white i6 in the MBR and am very happy. Had a little issue getting them synced on my wifi but the issue was on my end. Tech support was very good.
Nothing compares
The Big Ass i6 Ceiling Fan is a very exciting design, reminiscent of the industrial era and the neo-industrial design aesthetic that has emerged since the turn of the 21st Century, which very much appeals to me. The fan itself is whisper quiet and puts out a great amount of air without being annoying; and the iOS app provides operational control over the fan and the light kit, which allows one to choose the degree of warmness, coolness, and brightness of the L.E.D. bulb. I would give it 10 Stars. This fan is the finest I have ever encountered. Nothing compares.
Great Patio Fans
I purchased two of these two replace existing fans on my outdoor patio in South Florida. I had existing boxes, which I reinforced. I had a buddy (electrician) help me, but any second set of hands would have worked. Fan installation went smooth. The fans work great and I really like the light kits. So far the controls, which I work through the Google Home work great. The fans are quiet, balanced, and put out a great amount of air. I'm very pleased with the purchase. And I was able to get a nice additional savings through one of the holiday sales.
Very good, but a little improvement is necessary
96" Fan looks great, could be faster to generate more airflow. Documentation on the Auto feature is lacking to explain it's behavior. Fan install instructions were fantastic. Wired switch for the i6 instructions were lacking a bit and created some confusion. If their documentation was better, it would be a 5 star experience.
Initial startup each time is very disapointing
Bought this unit several months ago on sale directly from the website. After installation, each time I start it up it seems to not know which direction to turn and makes loud grinding noises. Once it gets going however it straightens itself out and runs perfectly at any speed setting. Not sure if this is normal or can be fixed with a firmware upgrade? Anyway its a really nice product and other than the startup issue I'm happy with it.
My review of BigAssFan i6
Upside: the fan is great, moves a lot of air, looks sharp & can be controlled they an app (cool).
The best fan I have ever owned.
Great fan. This is our second fan like this. Both were easy to install. First one had a down rod and the second was flush mounted. But ever easy to install. The options on the fan are great too. The app to control the fans is great. I have already recommended this style of fan to friends, family and clients. Highly recommend
i6 60" Indoor Fan
I love this fan. It has been on my radar for two years but we were in the process of looking for a new home so I waited. I added the the LED light and in the evening when I walked into our bedroom... Wow
Exceptional performance, durability, quality.
I buy quality over quantity. It seems like buying cheap results in more money down the road.
Great Fan!
Amazing fan, super simple install, great instructions, and support from the BAF team. Two different apps are needed to support i6 fans and Haiku fans. Also only one fan can be controlled by a Ecobee. These two facts I figured out after my install. I hope BAF considers integration of all fans into one app platform. Overall the craftsmanship and quality of these products justifies the pricing for me. Big fan of the BAFs.
Sad about my order
I ordered 4 fans for my pavilion. I hired an electrician to install them since they were heavy. The first three installed easily but only the first two worked well. The third made a grinding noise that I shared on the phone with the company a couple times to no avail. They were nice but couldn't resolve my broken fan. The fourth fan did not have a rod to hang it.
No regrets, first i6 & 5th Big Ass Fan
This is the fifth Big Ass Fan that I have installed in my last two houses. Easy installation, fully functional and integrates into any smart home. With the Automatic Mode the i6 monitors the temperature at the ceiling and adjusts to keep the temperature set where you want it.
My second try.
This is my second fan you have sent. The first one had a scraping noise and you replaced it. (Thank you BTW)
