Perfect

So elegant and different from most stovetop moka pots. Very well made and beautiful to look at. Haven’t made coffee with it yet but you can’t go wrong with this brand.

Upgrade your coffee ritual with the artsy Alessi Pulcina Espresso maker. When you place it in the stove, it feels like a piece of art, transforming the act of brewing coffee into a sensory experience. Its unique spout and overall shape will get you you to that mindset in which you savor the coffee and the moment.

Simply beautiful...work of art!!! It is worth the expensive price tag. I bought the largest size. I would definitely recommend buying this item.

Best spout for pouring

Looks cool, solid build, even pours well without getting hot coffee on your hand and worktop. Should have bought the bigger one.

Alessi Pulcina

I have wanted one of these for years. Tired of buying cheaper moka pots that I didn't really like “but they were on sale”, I finally bit the bullet and ordered one. Should have done this years ago. I wouldnt have wasted

Best Espresso Ever

Makes the best cup ever, no burnt flavor nice froth, It's expensive but worth if you like your expresso. I got the 6 cup and use the whole brew with 3/4 cup of milk with a little spray whipped cream on top. O yea don't forget 5-6 spoons of sugar.

It looks beautiful , makes great coffee and is easy to use. What's not to like . I'm putting a new kitchen in and this will look great in it.

Stylish and functional

With a heavy aluminium build this pot takes a little longer to heat, but the results are an improvement over my previous pot. Looks great, too. No issues using an induction cooker.

Beautiful piece

I was really excited to get this as a replacement for my traditional Mokapot. While it is really aesthetic, It could definitely be designed with more thought. The roundness makes it really difficult to open, not much to grip and the lid dome is completely for visual use, just makes it larger than it needs to be. While I prefer the look of this, I admit that the cheaper option worked better and more consistently.

Heat

The Alessi Pulcina's aluminium cast is a good heat conductor and makes my espresso brew fast. I should have ordered the six cups model instead of three!

I love this thing, it looks cool on the stove top and it makes amazing coffee. closest thing Ive found to an espresso machine with none of the headaches that come with an espresso machine.

Great coffee, with a few annoying quirks

Overall my mokapot of choice, Would strongly recommend. However, for me it is a one-cup maker: makes one strong Americano with added hot water. Don't know how anyone would get 3 espressos from it. Sometimes hard to get to function on my induction hob, but not sure whether this is the pot or the hob - think it's the pot. Otherwise a perfect, stylish, solid product. Expensive, but built to last.

Have to put it in a saucepan

My Daughter bought it as a Christmas gift and it's very attractive but didn't work on a very expensive Siemens induction hob, so I put it in a saucepan and it did the job, bit disappointing but can only assume it's a bit small for the hob to recognise. Wonder if you can buy a sort of flat plate to put it on. But for those in the same boat do the above and it works. My pleasure 😇

$90 Mokapot Broke After 10 Days

So I love the design of the Alessi Pulcina and it brewed a remarkably good cup of coffee. It took forever to arrive weeks after I received the your item has shipped email. Customer service couldn't tell me anything more than the tracking info. It just got stuck/lost somewhere along the way. In all fairness there was an unprecedented power outage throughout the state so things happen. It was delivered and very well packaged. The product box is beautiful as is the Mokapot. I made several pots -3 - to remove any metallic taste as per the instructions. I used it daily for about 7 days. The brew is incredibly satisfying. I love it! BUT that's where the fun ended. I gently washed and was drying the coffee basket and the funnel part just snapped off. it broke after using it daily for approx 10 days. Illy offered to refund me since evidently I purchased the last one. They said they did not have replacement parts. After many many calls i reached a live person at Alessi and was able to purchase replacement parts. In my opinion after spending nearly $100 on a Mokapot that broke within 10 days of purchase I should not have had to pay anything for replacement parts. But I really like the pot so I purchased several replacement parts in case it breaks in the future. I'm not sure what the availability of these parts will be so I bought extra. If you are able to purchase the Pulcina I would recommend treating it very very gently and buy extra parts. Good luck! It is beautiful but fragile.

Not for induction!

I really really wish I'd read the previous reviews - this does not work on induction as described.

Stylish coffee pot

My husband asked me to order this for him. He has many coffee pots but loved the stylish design. Works really well but only seems to make one cup of coffee. I think it would make three expresso cups of coffee but definitely not 3 normal cups. For this reason my husband was a little disappointed and wished he had brought the larger version but other than that he is very happy with this funky coffee pot to add to his collection.

Great Design

Very attractive pot makes excellent espresso! I have purchased several of these pots as gifts and everyone is thrilled with it. I only wish that Illy would stock the very specific replacement gasket for this exact pot. I even tried to contact Alessi to purchase one but they were of no help. Gasket is not the same size as those available. 5 stars for performance & looks but have to remove a star for no gasket replacement.

Not suitable for induction

The disappointment was maybe big: in the product description I didn't read that the Pulcina espresso cooker is not suitable for induction cookers, but only at home :(

Is not induction

I read the reviews before buying and passed off the first one as a disgruntled purchaser, especially after the John Lewis reply saying it must be the wrong pot in the wrong box...
