[Rewarded Review] Integrates really well with Apple Homekit.
Setup was not exactly a breeze. But after watching a couple of youtube videos, the recommended method to integrate with homekit is to set it up fromthe Schlage app. The documentation for this product leaves much to be desired and needs to be updated. Once all setup issues were sorted out. It is working well.
Another thing the iPhone can do- lock the door.
They were easy to install and look good. Would like the numbers to light up a bit more when they are pushed. The Z-Wave programmed well and works on the iPhone. The programming of unlock codes could be better, one of those “do this but not if this is …” and so on.
Poorly engineered
I bought this lock about 2 years ago. After about 18 months it started burning through batteries about every 2 weeks. When I called (and waited on hold for 30 minutes) Schlage they said it was the "power chip" that was bad in all these locks. They quickly sent me a new lock...which I had to install the complete mechanism.
We absolutely love our smart lock. Best purchase ever!! We always carry the key in case but love that it’s keyless. I don’t have to worry about fumbling and searching for my keys either a hand full of groceries. Also piece of mind in case we get locked out, especially with my toddler that to is learning to close and lock doors,

I dont write reviews but...
We have had this lock for 5 years, I read the other posts and disagree to the extent that I am writing a review. We have replaced the batteries twice. It has held up well to the 4 seasons that we have here and the range of temperatures from 0 deg F to 105 deg F. It is not in the sun so we do not have any issues with overheating the batteries. I would say the two other reviews I read are the two buyers that had a bad experience out of the thousands of purchasers.
Keep that key under your mat. Horrible reliability
I installed this lock with brand new batteries LESS THAN TWO MONTHS AGO. With ZERO warning, today the batteries died and left me locked out of my house. The lock locked normally - not slow, got the green checkmark. Came home from a 20 minute dog walk to a dead keypad. The reason I bought a keypad lock was so I can take short trips out of the house without a key and to allow certain people entry to my house. Yet without the key and with dead batteries, there is no way to open this lock. Its encased in steel so the locksmith couldn’t even open it. Didn’t realize I should have passed keys out to people for safekeeping. For $200, I’d expect the batteries to last more than two months or at least for the lock to have a low battery warning. Beyond frustrated at wasting money on a low quality lock and needing to hire a locksmith, and additionally now needing to buy another lock. So basically this lock ended up costing three times the sticker price. 0/10 do not recommend.

Definitely my favorite smart lock! It looks great, comes in different styles and colors, is reasonably priced and has great features. I especially like the more recent addition of the easy connect button by the battery compartment. The model I purchased in 2017 did not have it but this 2019 one does and it makes for an easy and quick connection with your hub. It could be easier to install though, the wire co connect the keypad to the lever is a little short so is makes making a connection a little tricky. I wish the Schlage app worked with this model, but it does not so I have to go through a smartthings hub and/or echo to control and monitor it from a distance. Since it's Wi-Fi you can check the status from your cell phone even from a different country. The main feature that is missing for me is the ability to remotely setup new codes and automatically activate/expire them at a pree-scheduled time. It would make running my vacation rental a lot easier when travelling. It is possible that advanced Smartthings/IFTT setups would allow for that but then you get into advanced settings that most users would not know how to take advantage of. More documentation published from Schlage on this topic would be very useful.
