Very happy!

Really like the lock and the app seems to work well. Primary hiccup was the first lock was BO. Installed the lock but couldn’t get it to connect, they sent a new lock after I contacted them. Once I was able to talk with someone problems were handled quickly. Getting someone on the phone…let’s just say they don’t do that very well. The so called AI chatbots suck. Not just theirs, all of them!

Easy to Install and High Quality Product

Needed z-wave functionality. I was able to install and integrate with my Alarm.com system as a home owner with basic skills. Product is high quality with a nice build and finish. I appreciated the ability to get the finish in polished chrome to match my decor.

Wonderful lock. Looks nice and stylish and now I never have to get keys out of my bag. My door did not have a previous deadbolt in place so I hired someone from Home Depot’s handyman services and he was able to do all the measurements and drilling to add this deadbolt lock to the door. Amazing quality and service all around.

Poorly engineered

I bought this lock about 2 years ago. After about 18 months it started burning through batteries about every 2 weeks. When I called (and waited on hold for 30 minutes) Schlage they said it was the "power chip" that was bad in all these locks. They quickly sent me a new lock...which I had to install the complete mechanism.

Upset customer

I needed a 5" deadbolt for this lock. After i got one sent from you it didnt work. Then the company sent me one as yours didnt fit. Theres didnt fit either. After waiting fir a licksmith and a manufacture rep to get back to me, found our that a 5" deadbolt isnt made for this lock. When I finally found out and tried to send it back it was too late and I couldnt get my money back.

Intermittently stops working

Keypad goes dead intermittently. Ordered replacement units, same thing. Several calls with tech support, same thing. Unreliable when you’re standing trying to get into your house but can’t.

I have installed 4 of these on two homes

I have installed 4 of these on two homes that are now going on 6 years. Heavy use with one door opening and locking 20 times+ per day with batteries lasting about a year. Highly recommend this product and integrates nicely with Ring app. Had a battery leak which destroyed the motherboard inside of one lock and replaced it with this purchase.

Mine lasted 9 years

My Schlage smart Z-wave smart deadbolt lasted 9 years. I used it with SmartThings and Alexa. The electricals died, but I’m ok with how long it lasted especially with the brutal Texas heat. I upgraded to the latest model, the Encode Plus, and the installation is almost the exact same. Very smooth upgrade. Hopefully the next model lasts at least 9 years too

Unreliable

We have had this lock for a year and the battery has drained multiple times, locking us out. I contacted Schlage customer service after two months of owning the lock, the first time it happened. This did not work! Don't buy this model.

so easy!

After trying two kwikset locks that had a sleeker look and spending hours on both trying and failing to get them to work I finally decided that looks weren’t that important. I can assure you, it was not user error. I’ve installed plenty of deadbolts and read several dofferent manuals I installed this Shlage deadbolt and was done in 5 minutes!! Highly recommend!

Nice product

Easy to install and program. Like other users said , a little noisy but not a big deal to me. Overall a nice product. Ordering and shipping was good. I would recommend this lock for the price and recommend this store.

Defective

This was installed a month ago by professionals so as to link to our alarm system. The lock runs out of battery life in 10 days and as a consequence disconnects from the alarm system. In one month, the batteries have been changed 3 times. Now, in comparison I have a Yale lock with August features for over a year and have changed the batteries 2 times. There is seriously a flaw in the Schlage lock. And good luck with Schlage customer service. I have been on hold for 40 min.

Purchased this item two separate times due to poor construction. Tried to install the first purchase and the screw holes were not aligned or drilled correctly. Returned it to Home Depot and bought another, same problem. Chose Schlage because it was supposed to be the best, now I question their quality.

Unreliable.

The BE469NX-CAM is unreliable and stopped working after a week until the same batteries were removed and replaced. This lock was replaced for the same reason before. Totally unreliable. Reads battery 100% and suddenly locks us out. Have to have a key on hand. This is ridiculous!

Great unit overall, very happy with the purchase.

Z-Wave lock/unlock works great, keycodes work well, key itself works great although I almost never use it. Powered locking mechanism is very loud though and the keypad stopped responding once in the past month, I had to take the batteries out and put them back in to reset it. On Z-Wave, it appears to broadcast a sensor for door opened or closed which always says open regardless of the lock state (although the lock state itself, locked or unlocked, is always correct, but I wish the door open/closed state was correct too so I could know if the door is actually closed before locking it remotely!). I'm very happy with this and extra happy that the vendor could rekey it to my existing key. The interior block seems excessively large and I don't love that I have to put 4 AA batteries into a caddy and then connect it with a 9V connector (why couldn't the contacts just be on the bottom or sides of the caddy?).

We are remodeling and the contractor used Schlage hardware on inside doors. This lock is quality throughout. The only issue is the loud sound the mechanism makes when it's locked/unlocked from the key pad. Good alert though that sometimes coming in!

This is a replacement for my previous Schlage Camelot electronic deadbolt. I am rather disappointed that the previous lock bricked itself after five years or so with no obvious cause. I would just alarm continuously as soon as you attached the batteries.

STOPPED WORKING AFTER 3 MONTHS

This is our SECOND same lock ! We moved into our NEW HOME / NEW BUILD had the same lock for 1 year one day the lock just stopped working - changed the batteries and it worked for maybe 2 months after. Jan 14th I repurchased the SAME LOCK - why, because the door is cut for that lock so easy right . 3 months and 20 days later the lock stopped working AGAIN! I called HOME DEPOT and of course they cant help cause I'm 20 day past the 90 day return policy, waiting to see if SCHLAGE can help REPLACE!

Top notch deadbolt. Easy to use, you can setup i.in a number of ways. Looks great. Go with their free keying service. Outstanding servive you cannot get elsewhere.
