Great for middle aged kids

Ours girls are 7 and 9 and are rowdy, so we were looking for a play set that could last them a few years and withstand how hard they play. They LOVE the monkey bars (in my opinion it's the best feature of this playhouse because kids love them so much). This set has so many different things to offer and my husband was a huge fan of the interactive set up instructions (instead of the normal paper with very little description). Shipping was great and the price was very comparable to a lot of other "lesser" rated models from other places. Will be repeat customers for other products from Backyard Discoveries!

Great playground for price.

We have had this playground for 3 summers now its held up pretty well up until this year we noticed a lot of fading in some ares. Decided to re stain and seal with behr deck and siding paint. Would suggest you tighten every season as a lot of the bolts where really loose. Wood feels kind of cheap its a really soft pine, had a couple of the fence boards peel a layer of wood off. Added a few 2x4s to reinforce floor while painting as i don’t recommend for adult use or bigger kids. the orange/ brown stain pic was brand new a few years ago. The new color i used is redwood behr deck paint. Overall happy with swing set and the neighborhood kids love it.

Overall, a wonderful set

A month. This took a month to complete. Why? Lot's of pieces, solo assembly, and Texas. Texas weather was quite uncooperative some weekends. And staining. Yes folks, you MUST stain/seal this set. Some build then stain. My wife and I chose to hand-stain each and every piece of wood in the set to ensure first coat coverage. In a couple of months, I will whip out the sprayer and spray stain.

Fun time for all

Awesome playset. My kids and neighbors and kids friends and cousins love this thing. I cant get them to come inside anymore which is fine by me. Atleast they arent obsessed with the ipad as much anymore.lol.

Backyard playset

We looked at many playsets and their reviews. There were good and bad reviews for many, so we took a chance on this one. My husband put it together by himself. It took about 31 hours over a weeks time to build. Before he began building, he organized materials by the steps in the book, which made finding what he needed much easier. He needed my help only a few times. Our children are 11,8, and 4, and so far, they all enjoy it.

It’s an ok set

Overall the swing-set is ok. Quality does not reflect the price of this. The slide is very cheaply made. Two sturdy pieces of plastic with a thin flexible piece of plastic run down into the groves. 1st day the slide is broken when my 8yr old about 55 lb child went down. We will be reinforcing the floor board for the play house as it doesn’t seem that sturdy. Putting it together was fairly easy but time consuming. 2 pieces were mislabeled and the roof that came pre assembled had too thick of a piece of wood that we needed to shave down. Not huge deals. Only thing I’m really disappointed in is the slide and wish it was higher and a sturdier quality for what we paid.

Grandson Loves It

My son and I put this together for our grandson's 4th birthday. He had assembled the stairs and rock wall and sorted out the pieces prior to my arrival. Grouping the items by number prior to assembly was very helpful, since there a lot of pieces. The written instructions were very good and the "Bilt" app was helpful It took us three days, but it went together well. He immediately climbed the rock wall and went right up to the crow's nest. The neighbors were ready to send their kids over to play. We are sure he will get many years of use and enjoyment from it. Our granddaughter has had a similar one for several years and it still looks great and she plays on it all the time.

Looks amazing - but wood is thin

We put this together a couple of weeks ago. It looks exactly like the pictures and is really cool. The only issue I have (which is big) is how thin and light the wood is. It feels like balsa wood and I don’t know how long this play set will last. We bought some reinforcements for the crows nest because the wood is so soft I wasn’t sure if it would hold up for long. And we reinforced the swing bar to the fort. It does look nice and it was actually pretty easy to assemble. Just not sure about the quality of materials. We looked at other sets and they were 10k. So this is much less expensive and maybe expected. We like it so far. Kids are 4 and 6.

Perfect for big and little kids

We did a lot of research before purchasing this set, and we are very happy with it. We have 5 kids ages 2-9 and our oldest is about 5ft tall. We wanted something that kids of all ages could use that wouldn’t be too flimsy for lots of kids, and that our oldest could still use. This thing is sturdy! We replaced the middle bar thing with another swing. we often have 3 kids swinging on this at one time, and the set doesn’t move at all. My husband is 6’2” and can stand upright in the upstairs of the main tower. At the same time, I don’t feel like it is unsafe for our 2 year old. It did take quite some time to put together, but the sheer amount of bolts on this thing really gives me peace of mind.

Did not last as thought

We bought this right before the summer of 2020 when the world shut down. We wanted our kids to get outside and play since they were home. It started out great, but after trying to maintain the upkeep, it began to get worse. A year into this playset, the pieces were warping and starting to fail. The whole playset shakes back and forth, even with my 35 lb child. We do not feel safe with it anymore, and now we are on the hunt for a new one. If you want to spend this type of money, keep in mind that even if you try and upkeep it like told, it will still fail. Not happy.

[Rewarded Review] Nice

Lovely swing set. I wouldn’t recommend pass the age of 10. Wood is pretty cheap. First day my girls played on it. The wood chip. It’s not as big as it looks in the pic. But it’s a pretty decent size. I had the assembly put it together. They were pretty fast and very nice. Looks very lovely in my backyard.

I purchased this a long time ago and thought I had already rated it. My grandchildren love it but it took 4 people 2 days to assemble and one of them is a skilled carpenter (thank goodness). Building this is a challenging project but holds up well with weather and the kids climbing on it. If you are looking for a Backyard Swingset/Fort that will last a long time, this is one you should consider!

[Rewarded Review] Beautiful Swingset!

We bought this in June for our grandkids and they absolutely love it! When they’re not climbing and swinging, they’re hanging out in the clubhouse up top or at the picnic table. It is a beautiful addition to our yard as well. We’ve gotten so many compliments on how it’s such a nice-looking swingset. It took us a couple of weekends to assemble - we had all the parts laid out and organized on the ground beforehand. In the evenings when we’re out back sitting on our patio it’s almost like a centerpiece in the yard against the sky. It’s big enough to where our grandkids and the neighbor kids can enjoy it all at once, and it’s held up pretty good so far. It’s been a great investment!

[Rewarded Review] Amazing even for older kiddos

I bought this one because I have two older kids and one younger. I thought the older kids might like the clubhouse feel it has, since we don’t have any trees for a tree house. It’s been fun for everyone to own this. It’s big, it’s safe, it’s sturdy. I’d highly recommend this set to anyone. We paid for it to be installed and it was done in one afternoon by two people. We have had no issues with any rough spots or weak pieces. We love it!

[Rewarded Review] Worth the cost

Great, durable purchase! It took my husband about a week to completely finish it on his own, while working on other things at home too. The materials are of good quality, and the finished product is beautiful! We had one board on the climbing wall split while adding the hand holds. My husband was able to cut a board to fit. The color doesn’t match, but the kids don’t mind. I have kids ranging from teenagers to toddlers, and they have all been on the play set at some point or another. It’s definitely sturdy enough to hold older kids, although I don’t let them swing on it like they would on a structure at the park. My big kids can sit on the swings, climb in the fort, and use the monkey bars without it feeling rickety. I’m glad we went with this brand and spent the extra money. It was well worth it!

[Rewarded Review] Great swingset

I bought this at the beginning of summer for my 6,5 and 2 year old. It definitely was higher than I had anticipated and I’ve had to be very careful with my kids in it. Monkey bar area is very high and is about a 3-4 ft drop from hanging for my older kids. However it is a great swing set for them to grow into. I put together almost exclusively by myself within 5 days with the help of my kids (haha). Only complaint with instructions was to very closely pay attention to pilot holes for directionality. Had to undo several steps on a few occasions. And the markings on the boards were VERY faint. Difficult to read which pieces were what for building. Kids love it and I have been very happy with it!

[Rewarded Review] Exactly what we had hoped

We ordered this for three features, the picnic table/playhouse, the monkey bars and the swings. Our kids (5 and 7) love this so much. The crows nest is a huge hit. They love to play pretend house and boat, they eat lunch on the picnic table. The lower area is a great for with just a few tarps attached. It's amazing! So pleased with this high quality playset!

[Rewarded Review] It's okay but kind of rickety

It's okay but I'm disappointed in the quality vs the cost. The structure is rickety and the wood is very thin, non-standard sizes. We used their installer and many of the pieces were installed upside down so there are part number stamps all over, the wood is already splitting or peeling in multiple places after one summer, and many screws were overtightened and are stripped out. Also, no shielding along the bottom edges so the finish is coming off where the string trimmer hits.

[Rewarded Review] Turned out great, some pieces were not

I bought this set earlier this year and its awesome! It looks great, the kids love it. However there was an obscene amount of different hardware that absolutely could have been more standardized rather than having 30 kinds of screws, 30 kinds of bolts. Assembly is not at all user friendly because of this. You spend 3/4 of the time trying to find the right pieces for each step. Also, it took enough time sorting all the pieces, wood and hardware, that they ended up sitting out for a few days until I could start and throughout assembly. During this time quite a few planks started to warp, crack, some way worse than others. It wasnt so bad at first so I started putting it together, by the end of it I'd wished I'd made a warranty claim but by that time I just wanted to get it finished. It looks good, the kids have fun, but assembly was made way more difficult than it could be, and the quality of the lumber was not great especially for the price.

[Rewarded Review] Difficult start, but happy ending

I was able to fulfill my own childhood dream of getting this for my son. I always dreamed of getting a playset like this when I was a child, but was never able to. So I got this for my son. It took about 3 days for my husband and I to put together (FYI he’s a mechanic and familiar with power tools and following instructions). It came in 4 boxes, and the pieces were not organized at all. I had to act an inventory person collecting all necessary pieces from each box, while my husband was in charge of installation. Sadly, 2 weeks after it was finished, we had a spontaneous wind storm that blew the whole thing over. We filed an insurance claim, and replaced it. It took about 2 days the next time around- we knew what we were doing this time, and we were able to save some sections from the first one which saved time. We anchored the next one with 4 cement footings. No problems with the second one. Despite all this hardship with it, my son loves it, and we don’t regret getting it at all. Very happy with this purchase.
