This was an outstanding play set. Well made. The instructions were very clear and I found it easy to assemble. I had a helper and we completed it in about 10 hours over a couple of days. We did have all the necessary tools and a nut driver with all the sockets saved the day. The one thing………the delivery was difficult. This thing comes packed on what seems like a 10 foot long pallet about as wide as a queen size bed. It was really hard for the delivery guys to get off the truck using a lift gate. They eventually did a controlled fall and we got it off. Everything survived.

Very Please with Quality of the Materials

The quality of the materials and thickness of wood pieces make this playset a standout from some other playsets. Build process was lengthy, but enjoyable day with the kids while we built it and they learned assembly skills. Set has been in use for 9 months and has held up well with very frequent use and 3 kids plus cousins added in at times.

Never Received

I ordered this product over a month ago and still have not received it. Home Depot placed a direct PO with Gorilla, who contracted the freight shipment. The freight shipper got it to the local terminal in 5 days and then stopped providing updates. 3 weeks later they only admitted it was lost after I contacted them. Cases were opened at both Home Depot and the shipper, but the expectation is still that I follow up. Everyone points at someone else. The HD rep even said it can take up to 3 months.

Overall great set, decent staining. Definitely could use better directions but isn't terrible. Missing some hardware but overall would recommend. Took 3 guys 8 hours to assemble.

We just put together this swing set. It took about 2 days of about 8 hours each day with 2 people to fully put it together. I was surprised how sturdy it is and how well it went together. I’ve put together a couple other swing sets that weren’t as sturdy. Kids love it already and we look forward to using it this summer and the future years.

Safety hazards no one has written about

This is a beautiful play set, but there obvious design flaws that I am amazed are not mentioned in the reviews I read before buying. Firstly, the slide is steep and fast and far too close to the wooden beam of the monkey bars. If a leg hangs over the side, it will be hit by the beam at the landing. If a kid tumbles going down too fast, they can launch head-first into this beam bc it is literally inches from the end of the slide. There should be more distance by either the slide being longer or the monkey bars stretching out 2 feet farther away. Secondly, there are horizontal beams directly above the landing space at the top of the climbing wall and the ladders. Kids have to be aware of their heads as they climb and duck upon entry to the clubhouse landing. This is a lot to ask of little kids excited to be playing. In short, if I had realized these potential hazards, I would have bought another play set.

Great Set!

We got this set because it maximizes the number of different activities within a small footprint. We had a very small yard and we needed to kind of wedge a play set into the corner. Most have a separate swing bar that sticks out really far, but this one is nice and compact. Well, we've since moved to a house with a larger yard and we still love this set. We even bought the monkey bar extension for it. My daughter has now used this play set for 2 years, and it's still in great shape. We should probably consider re-staining or sealing it next year, but it's served us very well. Highly recommended!

Swingset itself is great quality and height. I wish the actual bar with the swings was longer due to space between swings but also there are wood footers that stick out from the main treehouse that have tripped my children twice. Missing two pieces. Spent over 2 hours on the phone with Home Depot to contact the manufacturer to get the replacement pieces. I have received no email to date for the actual missing pieces to be delivered. So those pieces will not be able to be installed on the playset.

The set was surprisingly easy to build, the instructions were very clear. It took a few days to build just because it’s so massive but my two boys (ages 8 and 5) love it. We were also very pleased with how sturdy the materials were. My husband can swing on the swings and the set doesn’t budge one but. Definitely worth the price!

One of my dreams came true when theirs did! My 5.5 yr & 8.5 yr old (and myself) absolutely love this swing set! I chose this set b/c the scale was larger compared to some of the others I looked at. I wanted something my oldest would still be able to enjoy for a few years and he certainly will with this set. Swings, slide, rock wall, rope ladder, clubhouse & tire swing!!! There is so much to do, we all have so much fun with it. The three of us are constantly on the swings together. I was so torn between Gorilla and some local vendors that offered the same style at higher prices. I’m so happy we chose Gorilla, the quality is excellent!!! My 8 yr old tile me he never thought in his wildest dreams that he’d have anything as cool as this swing set.

Great playset. Very sturdy built, well designed, solid - each critical joint heavily secured with 3/8 lag bolts. My 6 yr old loves it. Assembly was fun - all parts were there and a few extras, definitely need to organize all parts before starting, else it could become a scavenger hunt. Overall took 2 adults approx 12 hrs to assembme fully. Instructions are good but not the greatest so lots of reading and understanding to make sure mistakes are avoided. Make sure u have 2 of each drills/drivers and socket wrenches, makes things go much faster.

expect a solid weekend of work with 2 people assemble. as stated laying out parts for the first is worth every minute. i'd suggest identifying the screws/hardware upfront as well. it's a well made piece for bigger kids as well. can certainly entertain kids upwards of 12 year old, which is what we wanted. our pre-k kids were already looking too big for the smaller sets that our neighbors had purchased. we got the monkey bar option, it's good, but not as structurally sounds as I'd anticipate for a $2K set. overall it was great choice and we're pleased with purchase.

Great Set!!! Durable wood playset that all my neighbors have enjoyed. Time to put together will go faster if you have 2 to 3 adults in on the process. My husband assembled set alone, with occasional help from my 15 year old son, in 3 days. We had a set in the past that was around $1000 made from Backyard discovery...it broke from use in 4 months! This set is well worth the money...and I am a very picky consumer. You and your kids won't be dissatisfied!

The play set is great. My grandchildren love it. However putting it together is is not like they say it is. It is not packed in order at all. 6 giant boxes with different paper-labeled wood pieces, where half of them fallen off, even the screws are in several packages without names on them. Just to get oriented took us 2 hours after unpacking the heavy boxes.. You need 2 big guys and 3 days non-stop work to put it together.

Gorilla Sun Valley 2

My husband and I purchased this set for our 5 year old son and 2 year old daughter. They absolutely love it. The quality is very good at a fraction of the cost of Woodplay or Rainbow. We are definitely not that handy, but the instructions were very clear and easy to follow. All the parts and hardware were in the boxes. We were not missing any parts. It took the two of us roughly 2 days with several breaks to complete. I would caution that when the delivery service calls to set up a day/time that someone who is strong and able to carry heavy boxes is available to assist them. It came in 8 very large boxes. Some boxes were over 250lb. Would highly recommend gorilla products to friends. We also purchased a glider swing to go with the set from Home Depot, also gorilla brand and it works great as well!

Excellent Playset - Great Value

We have been very happy with this playset which we bought 3 years ago when our son was 6. He still plays on it, although he is coming to the end of his playset years. The neighborhood kids play on it from about age 3. We purchased the option with the swing arm, climging wall, slide and monkey bars. The monkey bars and swings get a ton of use. Especially as our son has gotten older, we have been happy to have the monkey bars as he uses it for "ninja warrior" style training! It is definitely great to have the monkey bars as a fitness barometer of sorts. I have from time to time switched out the swing arm accessories. The kids really like the trapeze bar option, so I would recommend that for older kids as well. I did a lot of comparison shopping at the time of purchase and I picked the Gorilla brand as it seemed to have the best combination of good reviews and reasonable price. It has held up very well. I didn't seal the stain when we bought it, and now after 3 years the colour is starting to fade a bit, so I would recommend using a sealant, but it is no different from any other treated wood product. To keep it looking brand new it will have to be repainted at some point. But other than that, it has worn very well. It is sturdy and we have had no problems with it.

Great features, well built

I love this playset. The look and function are great. My 2.5 year old has tons of energy and this is the perfect playset for him because it has all the bells and whistles. I love the coating on the metal chains of the swings. The roof provides good shade on the deck and I enjoy that the underneath is a tire swing instead of a sandbox like some ther sets. We had this assembled by a pro playset builder and it took 2 guys about 5.5 hours. My only qualm was the third party delivery had to get special approval from Home Depot because it was a 2 man delivery job and Home Depot was extremely slow in approving the 2 man delivery.

Curbside delivery was on time and we got our awesome playlet together for our family re-union. I have NEVER in my life seen such high quality in a playlet. This playlet will last 30+ years. The young toddlers, school age; teenagers and even adults have had memories made this weekend playing together and “letting the ‘child inside us all out!!!’ Thank you so much for giving so many of us a way to be in touch with the entire age spectrum of our re-union. Anyone who would order this play set will share hours of memorable joy!!!

This is a monster and a high quality product. The kids are crazy stoked about it. Took me five days by myself to complete the build. In my defense, thunderstorms rolled in and I only had one full day to work on it, the other four days were grab an hour or two here and there between the downpours. It was actually very easy to build, not saying it wasn't a ton of work but it wasn't difficult. The instructions were excellent and the packaging well done. Would purchase again, if need be, without a second thought.

This is a heavy-duty, excellent quality playset that is clearly made to last. We have only had ours a short time, but the materials are of a great quality and the instructions provided are thorough and step-by step. There are lots of cool accessories that our kids LOVE, and so many options that there it's easy to keep multiple kiddos entertained simultaneously. By way of a heads up, as you may imagine from looking at the size and number of parts, this thing is a beast to put together. My husband and 2 friends (all of whom are very handy types and one of whom does construction for a living) worked for a solid 5-6 hours on this set and only got about 75% done assembling it. Since then, my husband (working solo) has put in another 3 hours or so in short increments and still has another couple of hours of work to go to complete all of the assembly. Another warning is that the shipping co (Southeastern Freight, I believe) that Home Depot uses to get this product to your home is woefully unprepared to handle such a large item. The pallet was almost 20 feet long and everything weighed 1000 pounds total. The delivery company had an 18-wheeler to deliver this (beware if you have a steep or difficult to navigate driveway). And all he had was a hand operated pallet lifter/hand truck and the poor driver probably got a hernia trying to get this thing from the street up our very short, slightly sloping driveway,. He almost had to leave the pallet on the street. HD needs to work this out or get a better company to deliver items. But no complaints at all about the set. Our kids (1, 5, and 6) love it!
