This socket tool is exactly what I needed to remove the retainer ring on a bathroom light fixture. Worked well and did the job!

As they say, this is the best thing since bagged bread, weel it is. I was struggling to remove the lamp shade from my bathroom light. I checked out youtube for a solution and saw this being demonstrated. Wish I had done it sooner Now it will be easier to remove the ceramic nut that holds the shade so I can wash them. I had to order it but it didn't take long to be delivered to my local homedepot.

This tool will save you time and hassle when installing vanity lights. One end is for the rings around the ceramic bulb base and the other end will firmly hold a bulb while installing.
