Perfect for My Needs

I haven't used this at the beach or in high winds yet, so I can't comment on its durability in those conditions. I've used it in moderately winter conditions though (15 mph or so) without issue.

Easy to set up, Perfect amount of shade.

So easy to set up! Nice amount of shade for two low each chairs with room for the cooler and other belongings. I loved the zip open, screened "windows" to let the wind blow through. Great purchase.

Versatile Sport-Brella

Works pretty well as both a sort of half-tent set up on the ground (per the promotional pic) when the sun is at an angle or the wind requires blocking. Or often for better shade especially at midday it can twist into the ground and be pretty stable as a standing umbrella.

Great construction

I have had my XLSports Brella for 4 years now. We use it all Summer long at the beach and the canyons. Never had a issue with it flying away. It's still in great condition. I highly recommend.

great in theory

Worked great the first time.

On our annual Mother-Daughter beach trip, this is an essential! We got good at quick setup so we could get into the ocean - and have a retreat when we wore ourselves out! We used a separate corkscrew to start the hole for the umbrella post. Love the pockets that hold sand to weight down the edges! Wind was never a problem.

Not worth price

Do not use during wind. Used item less than 5 times at the beach and a part broke off on the hinge. I did not keep receipt and the company will not replace the part as they "do not vend this part individually." I offered to pay for the part as well. They will do nothing without a receipt and will not advise warranty period either. For the price, I would not recommend unless it is used when it is not windy. I have had regular beach umbrellas last longer than this. I recommend the Shibumi for the beach.

[Rewarded Review] Lasted 45 seconds

We had purchased our second version of this sportbrella. The first got sand in the zipper and it failed quickly. Very disappointed, but we tried to make it work for a couple years. The second time, I got the insurance because I had my doubts. Sure enough, on vacation we stuck it into the sand with all the stakes and screwed it down tight. It lasted 45 seconds before flying off 100 yards away nearly striking several people and landing in the ocean. The umbrella turned completely inside out and was not salvageable at all. The main fault was the engineering of a super cheap clip to hold down an umbrella that people use at the beach! Many other umbrellas were working just fine. This company needs to severely improve their cheap materials before they ever get a dime out of me again!

[Rewarded Review] Super easy to setup and use

The Sport-brella Premiere is super easy to set up and use. I have used it at the beach a few times. Holding up well so far. I usually use it in the standing umbrella configuration with 2 anchor lines going into the wind and it has worked very well for me so far. The screw bottom works great in the sand. Very satisfied so far.

Perfect for soccer games.

Love this! Used for the first time today at a soccer game and it worked perfectly. I have a pop-up and was looking for something easier to have at games when it is just me. This fits that bill perfectly. It is long while stowed, I have a full size Volvo s90 sedan, and it is too long for my trunk without folding a seat! It does fit in the back seat though. It’s about 5ft tall when laying on the ground, and each half has about 3ft of space. I have extra wide camping chairs, and normally these types of things are too short/ narrow for putting 1 chair, especially 2. After using it today, it can totally fit 2 chairs easily. The chairs I use are the Nemo Equipment Luxury Star Gazer Recliner chairs. They are wide and tall. The photo I took today is of one of the chairs underneath it. My head was not touching the tent at all. It comes with stakes that are super easy to use and held up well with 12mph gusts today. This is super portable, light, and easy to use I have nothing negative to say!

NOT AS EXPECTED

Just like another review I am also small 4' 10'' and it is extremely heavy and difficult to put up. However, this is not the main reason for me as I would need help putting it up in any case. The corkscrew into the ground is plastic, why is this not metal? Used for the second time and the plastic is breaking up. This would definitely not last for years unless it was in sand. I am returning as this a design fault and don't want to be left with a useless item in the future that could no longer be returned. Disappointed as I really wanted this for my great granddaughters as one of them has been very ill in hospital recently now 3 months old. Protection for them is a priority. Having bought the small umbrella for her pram this is working well but again clip onto the pram is plastic and hoping this lasts.

Used this for the first time yesterday. I didn’t read the instructions but figured it out (well my cousin and I - both females!). So next time putting it up will be quicker and easier.

Brilliant purchase

Ticks all the boxes, will never buy a beach tent again! The beach brolly is great quality, so easy to use, very comfortable to sit under and the side windows give you extra viewing when you need it. It is big but it has to be to give you the coverage and accessibility. Laid it between the back seats and wasn't a problem at all but also fitted nicely on the roof rack. Only negative is the handle on the cover could do with being a bit wider as it cut into the shoulder a little whilst carrying it but overall this is a fabulous purchase. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic product

Thank goodness I decided to try this Sport Brella, if we had gone camping without this in the heatwave we would have been in a bit of a stew, this gigantic brolly saved our skin, litrally ! It was far too hot to be in the tent at all, we had no other shelter, it was too hot to do anything really , so out came the Sport Brella, pegged out the sides, it really is quite roomy, we managed to get 2 large camping chairs inside it comfortably, gave us some much needed shade and saved us no doubt from some nasty sunburn, it was heaven just to have that area of shade. Its quite sturdy once pegged down at the sides, its huge when up, I loved it. It is very long and I did wonder if it would fit in the car, it went through the back and the tip balanced between the front seats in my medium sized car, its not a boot item for sure, I dont think it would have gone in. Perfect shelter though so its worth the puzzle how to get it in.

Easy convenient beach shelter

I bought this as we are often at the beach (I sail) and my elderly mother is left on beach while I'm on the water. She was suggesting we get a wind break but I know they are never that easy to put up or carry. We saw one of these on the beach and thought it looked good and I was so pleased to see it for a very good price on qvc I ordered one. Its so easy to put up and it provides effective shelter from sun,wind and rain (if we ever get any). I've used it 5 times in various beach locations since it arrived and it is proving very impressive...and receives lots of interest from other people. The pegs work really well even in bone dry sand, not so well on the pebbly beach but I filled pockets with pebbles so ok. Packed up it is really long (6ft ish) but that's OK for me as I have the seats down in the car to carry the boat anyway...but bear in mind.. otherwise highly recommended.

Sport Brella

Bought this today and was concerned about sitting underneath with a normal foldable chair during baseball games for youth baseball ⚾️. The item description does not give an overall adjustable height, but for the price. I bought it anyways. As it turns out, I sits pretty tall when screwed into the ground. It also has a nice tilt feature to adjust for sun angles during the day. Very easy to install and set up! Front brim still sits approximately 5ft tall when used as a lean to. Very pleases that I took a chance today at Cabelas!

Extreamly simple and very rugged umbrella

I had this for a year now. Used almost all year but mainly in summer. It became the perfect solution for the black rooftop just out side my window radiating heat in the full sun. So it took not only many days of full Southern sun but quite a few days of strong winds. If the pole at the top of the umbrella where the splines meet is anchored well the 3 point ground contact will remain very stable and not move.

Great for shade but not for windy conditions

Compact and easy to set up. However, used it twice before it broke in windy conditions. Every other shelter on the beach was fine except mine. The whole thing inverted like an umbrella and the framework snapped. The pegs included are not sand pegs so the shelter does not hold up well at the beach. Took it back and was refused a refund or replacement because apparently warranty doesn’t cover damage caused by “weather conditions”. Gave up arguing and just threw out the whole thing in the car park bins

Made in the shade

Perfect for a day in the sun! My (tall) boyfriend and I could both lay comfortably in the shade it provided; it was easy to adjust as the day wore on. Lightweight enough to carry a ways, and intuitive design. I think a small family could sit together with enough personal space.
