My wife loves this, makes the shower much steadier for her. This is the 32 inch bar which works with studs on 16 inch center. The bar is solid as a rock when mounted to the studs. It has a good feel and is good for an adult grip. I installed one of these on a wall with studs on 24 inch center and installed it at an angle to accommodate that span. I tried to upload that photo but there must be a one photo limit.
Excellent product, key safety feature in a bath!
Product is excellent. I have purchased multiple over the years. It’s an important safety feature in the bathrooms and an excellent support bar next to the toilets.
Best safety recommendation for beside tub/shower.
Really enjoy having this 18” grab bar outside tub so I can hold on while getting in and out of it. Husband got new flat walk in shower installed and used both 18” and 24” grab bars in it. Sure gives confidence to hold on permanent ones instead of suction ones.

I bought the 32 inch bar for horizontal installation on studs. I was hesitant because other reviews complained about the screws being unusable. I was able to do the installation using the supplied screws but it took a few tricks because the screws are fine threaded, not coarse and sharp like deck screws, and have a small Philips head (much smaller recess in deck screws) that's easy to strip. Here's what I recommend to make them work: 1) Pre-drill all 6 mounting holes a bit more than FULL shank depth. If you shallow drill you'll never be able to tighten the screws 2) If possible use a 5/64 drill bit. If you don't have this size use the recommended 1/8 but drill each hole twice; this will enlarge them slightly 3) Find a really good hand Philips screwdriver that precisely matches the small slot size of the supplied screws with the largest diameter handle possible - you will need to apply a LOT of torque by hand (do NOT use a drill with a screwdriver bit...you will strip the heads, guaranteed) 4) Apply a little soap or candle wax to the screw threads before installing (reduces friction) 5) Don't snug down any screws until all are installed and mostly seated. Once all are close, snug them all down tight (you don't want to snag a thread on the flange) 6) Go slow. Even following the prior steps you will need some real muscle to fully tighten the screws both to turn the screwdriver handle and simultaneously apply down force to keep the bit seated in the screw head. Take a break if needed. Once installed it's really solid and looks great. I bought the "peened" finish...great choice.

Summary: Adding a few grab bars to dad's shower. I used a lot of products for this project, so including all related products in this review. Recommendation: 1) When mounting grab bars, it's always easier if you can find the stud to attach to. In this vertical install, I decided to use a stud and Wing-Its anchors; partially because I wasn't sure I could hit both, and didn't want to put two fasteners vertically (on either the right or left only), but that would also position the bar in the shower a little too far in (towards the shower control). 2) The WingIts requires a 3/4" hole through the mounting material. For tile, this can be especially challenging. I used the SHDIATOOL diamond 3/4" bit, with the DRILLAX adapter to get through the tile, and then used the 3/4" BOSCH bit to finish through the dry wall. Also used the BOSCH bits for the other small hole. Having the right tool for the job is the difference between project completion, and a messy, disaster. Arrived scratched, ripped and cut - Yellowed
Wow, has Moen fallen a long way in quality. Second Moen item purchased this month that arrived in bad condition.
Moen may call this white, but it isn't white
I bought this Moen grab bar since we are redoing our bathtub to a walk in shower. I purchased it online from Lowe's and it says this grab bar is white. I get it out of the box and think Lowe's has (maybe) sent me the wrong item. However, it is the correct item and the box says white.
grab on
this home care bar was just installed by a plumber for us. was installed with the right bit through tile and will be a great addition to offer hand for those that need lift off of the toilet in our main bathroom.
Grab Bar
The grab bar was to help an older person use a toilet in a cubicle. Actually there was a bar on each side wall of the cubicle. Before installation I exchanged the 18" bars for 24" bars to suit my space. Using the separately purchased devices that are designed for these bars and their application, it was a relatively easy installation. Careful measurements are critical.
Rugged, but painfull to install
PROS: Sturdy, strong with a non slip grip finish. CONS: I had a bear of a time installing this grab bar. The instruction say to use a 1/8 drill bit to make the pilot holes. I found it impossible to insert the screws. Would not turn into the studs and I ended up stripping the first screw. I had to upsize to a 5/32 drill bit and use liquid soap on the screws and all my weight and brute strength to get the screws in. I think the instruction list the WRONG SIZE drill bit. [I drilled through thin wood veneer paneling into wood studs.] Purchased at local Lowes store.

Nice look and peen finish. The mounting flanges are stamped parts and are warped, but I don't think it affects mounting. The 2" screws provided are too short for my wall consisting of: 1/2 tile and grout+ 1/2" wallboard +1/2" for plaster and metal lath+ 1/8" for flange and warp. I took pics of a 2-1/2 and 3" screw which I used with a 3/16" masonry bit for the tile and a 9/64" bit for the stud pilot hole. Moen could not provide the bolt pattern so I took a pic of mine No problems installing with the right screws.
[Rewarded Review] Sturdy!
Great grab bar. I installed this in a fiberglass shower stall and it works well. One thing to note if you do the same: you may need longer screws than what comes with this kit. Depending on the shower, the distance from the shower wall to a stud can be more than typical. This is due to factors such as thickness of the shower wall and gap between shower wall and drywall, IF there is even drywall behind the shower. Also, it's hard to locate studs from inside a fiberglass shower. None of which bears on the quality of this product, but is good to know before going into a project like this!
[Rewarded Review] A litle mhelp prevents injury.
Getting p in years and the lose of balance control, this item placed on the wall next to the toilet helps both getting onto the toilet and off. Stabilizes me when putting my clothes back on. attached to the wall was easy and placed in a way as not unattractive to the design of the bathroom. I also have two of these in my shower and one just outside the shower, which also not only helps my balance when drying off put is used as a towel holder. These grab bars placed in the right areas is a good determent from injury and a trip to the emergency room.
[Rewarded Review] Moen 18 inch peened wall mount grab bar
Easy to install. Instructions are easy to follow. Product works very well. There are options to install upright, horizontal, or diagonal. We have it installed in our garage next to the kitchen door to allow a couple of relatives easier access to our kitchen. Solid. Easy to grip. A good product.

I've got nothing bad to say about the bar itself, but the information here is very misleading--this does NOT come with the SecureMount anchors. Yes, it comes with wood screws, but those will only be useful if you have studs located exactly where you need them--which is unlikely to be the case, especially for the bars that are not in length multiples of 12". The SecureMount anchors work like a champ--in both drywall and through synthetic marble--if you have the appropriate 1.25" hole saws, they are easy to use, very secure, and well designed (even has integrated gaskets for when you mount them in the shower). I was able to install 4 bars (2 in drywall, 2 in synthetic marble) in less than 1.5 hours using the SecureMount anchors. But those SecureMount anchors will set you back $20+ per pair, which sucks when you think that they come included with these grab bars. 5 stars for a good grab bar, minus 2 for misleading descriptions and thereby a misleading overall price.

This product is really sturdy and it's easy to install. It does have to be installed on studs, 16" apart if installed horizontally. You'll need a longer than 16" bar to install at a slant, between two 16" studs. To install vertically, the only problem we had was installing it next to a door frame, going up some steps from our garage. We didn't have quite the full width of a stud available so were forced to install two of the six screws using wing-nut anchors. However, in spite of that it is REALLY secure and we have no qualms about its ever coming loose.

The flange covers each have three slight divots/dents against the wall (separated by 120 degrees so there's no rotation where you don't see them). Presumably it was an easy and cheap way to help hold the covers in place but It reduces the aesthetic of the design. I think a perfectly circular design would give it a classier look. Also, I find the 1.5" diameter bar appears to be sufficiently thick that it has an industrial look--definitely brings "public restroom" to mind. I think a 1.25" diameter model is more understated and subtle. If you really want to have your grab-bars shout out "ADA Compliant" go with the 1.5" diameter. By the way, both diameters are acceptable for ADA compliance but true compliance involves far more factors than bar diameter.

Wow! Great product! The "peened" section makes this bar ideal for wet areas. I installed this in our master bathroom shower. The "peened" section allows for a great grip, even when the bar is wet. Grab bar looks great and functions excellent! The 36 inch Grab Bar was installed on the long shower wall and the 24 inch Grab Bar was installed on the short (below shower head) wall. If you are mounting the grab bar to ceramic tile, make sure you get diamond tipped drill bit to drill the holes. I used two (2)Moen SMA1015CH, Home Care Securemount Anchors, Chrome so, I needed a 1/4" diameter diamond tipped drill bit and a 1-1/4" diameter diamond drill bit. Drilling the holes was easy. Follow the instructions to make sure the holes are drilled in the correct place. It took me about one (1) hour to install two grab bars.
