Beautiful exterior but not perfect

Gorgeous exterior and is fingerprint-free and easy to clean. I can fit my 30oz Stanley mug under the water spout. Didn’t get 5 stars for the following reasons. 1. The freezer and middle drawer don’t self close like my last model. You give them a little push then they stop, where my last model would sort of auto close. 2. The left door of the fridge is similar. Takes a good force to close. 3. There is less condiment storage than I’m used to in the door shelves. 4. I had one of those fridge lazy susan trays and it doesn’t fit b/c the shelf is not as deep as my prior model. Not a huge deal but a bummer nonetheless. 5. While the autofill water feature is a PLUS, it really doesn’t ever get it right or fill it up. Still nice to be able to walk away tho. 6. Lastly, the backlit wall is pretty but is not as bright as many other models. For the price, I would have liked to see all these features perfected or nearly perfected.

Poor quality warranty repair terrible

My refrigerator was installed 6 weeks ago and it’s been 6 weeks of countless time on the phone, time off work and frustration in dealing with a poorly made product. The ice maker never worked. The warranty provider I was given is 40 miles away and only comes to my area once a week. One week to order parts then another to install. They were terrible at communication and I asked for another service provider. At that point was told there is one 15 miles away. I haven’t heard from them yet. Now the water dispenser also doesn’t work. I would never recommend this refrigerator or company. A brand new refrigerator should work, I don’t think my expectations are too high

A decent frige, but awful packaging!

I've only had the refridgerator for a couple days, so I can't speak to the long term use of it, but it looks wonderful. Many complained about this being a noisy refridgerator, but so far I haven't noticed anyting out of the ordinary. MY BIG complaint is the amout of plastic film and tape that covered the fridge to the point that I had to call for service to have it removed. Even then, the service people had to use a blow dryer, soapy microfiber cloth and a utility knife with a razor blade to get the plastic film off. The worst part was around the water/ice dispenser where it was stainless steel meeting metal and could easily have been damaged. The whole process of removal took several hours and multiple people. This is NOT a random occurence. I was told that all the new GE Cafe refridgerators are wrapped this way. AWFUL!

[Rewarded Review] Worth the price almost 5 stars

I'm super picky when it comes to appliances and after having no choice but to replace my 3-year-old kitchen aid top of the line model that died it was super hard. I ended up heading to the best buy outlet to see a variety of models for fridges. I wasn't planning on purchase and open box model, but this was brand new never used with a price that couldn't be beat about 60% off the retail price. This fridge is super quiet, and the ice machine is actually quiet minus when it drops ice can be a little loud for dogs otherwise you don't hear it. The middle drawer being flexible between all the options and having the option to freeze gives extra space when your freezer is crowded. My only downfall with this fridge for the price and being ge cafe you would expect the doors to close softly and drawers to be soft close. For this model the drawers and doors you need to make sure they close this is my only downfall from coming from a kitchenaid with the same price tag and having soft close drawers and doors. Otherwise, this fridge is worth the price and having the app that can tell you ice maker level, change the lighting in the fridge, and lets you know the status of the water filter. Also, the counter depth of this fridge is spot on and doesn't stick out far.

[Rewarded Review] Wish the blue film would come off

It’s a beautiful fridge. Has some pretty cool, modern and high-tech features. It was our first time getting a counter depth fridge and we love the low profile, but with that comes smaller space inside. Obviously, common sense would tell you that, but it’s some thing I didn’t really factor in when I bought it, so, I’m still trying to get used to the shorter depth of shelves and storage inside. The thing I really don’t like about the fridge is that the protective blue film is absolutely impossible to peel off. I even bought special tools to help me safely remove the film without scratching my fridge but those don’t work either. Multiple people have come into my home and attempted to peel off, what is left of the blue film and they themselves can’t do it. So it’s just irritating when you spend a lot of money on a fridge because it looks beautiful and to have the Aesthetic ruined by the blue film the manufacturers put on.

[Rewarded Review] I actually have buyer remorse

While the fridge is beautiful, which is why I picked it, I'm extremely disappointed with the ice and water despenser. I thought all refrigerators would be equal in this aspect but I was wrong. The ice despenser is SO slow. The water only will despenser a small amount of cold and then its room temperature. This one not be an issue for someone that is only needing a few cubes at a time but i use a lot of ice so it feels like im standing there forever waiting to fill my cup. I try to tell myself the autofill for the water makes up for it but it doesnt.

This is a tough one.

Recently my mom was wanting to purchase & new fridge and dishwasher. She loves the look of our appliances & said she wanted what we have but in white. I had to say, “don’t do it”. Idk if it’s truly worth it. 5k for a fridge is insane yes, but man,I really love the look of this fridge. Everyone who comes to my home compliments it. It’s honestly a beautiful design, huge & roomy. I wasn’t able to get the copper handles though which was very disappointing. Bc that’s what sold me on these appliances. I do Love the drink drawer, the huge freezer & the fridge inside is beautiful. The large shelves & lighting. It’s all stunning. The issues though, have made me rethink getting the rest of the café line. We cancelled our stove due to all the issues we have with this fridge. It’s 2 years old, the newest version out that I’ve seen. There are lights everywhere up top, 2 of the lights have been burned out for almost a year! I can’t even find the replacements for them. The lights burning out really upset me. How in a year did this happen? Faulty bulbs? But both sides went out at the same time. Where the crisper drawers are at the bottom. When trying to buy to replace them, I only seen the larger lights in back. The main issue & cause of my gray hair is the dreaded ice maker…. We had it for almost a year before the issues started. First it started making ice & dumping them in our cups, much, MUCH slower than usual. I’ve had a repair guy come out 3 separate times to diagnose & fix the problems. The problem this time is the entire ice maker/motor has kicked the bucket. This fridge is too costly & too new to experience this many problems. I really really want the stove, I’ve been holding off on buying another one bc nothing compares to the look of it, it’s all honestly stunning looking appliances. Really wish they would figure out this issue so more people would consider these bc they really do transform your kitchen. There’s gotta be more than looking good tho. I have faith they will fix these issues & make great things in the future. If it wasn’t for those things, it would be 10 stars.

Efficient. Attractive.

Very attractive. Very efficient with a variety of shelves and bins. The counter depth is counteracted by the room needed on either side to allow the doors to open fully. The doors should be hinged such that extra room is not needed. The interior lighting is excellent. The three level freezer is very efficient. We are replacing a 26 cu ft refrigerator and find that this 23 cu ft model holds more food due to its efficient design.

[Rewarded Review] Cafe vs GE Profile Review

I exchanged the GE Profile 4 door version (no counter depth) for this one because I needed counter depth and wanted a similar design. The freezer has great storage. I hate that the drawers in the fridge are not a soft close. You would expect they would be for the price of this appliance. The shelves on the left door are very small because of the ice machine. The top shelf is too high so you're limited on what you can actually store in there. Getting the plastic packaging off of this appliance was VERY annoying and there are still many pieces of plastic that are difficult to remove and are stuck between the parts of the fridge that are not reachable. There's a defect on the top of one of the doors (see photos). There's grease and a sticky substance all over the inside of the doors and dried up glue from what I assume is the packaging. Overall, the quality is not as expected, especially considering this is supposed to be the higher end line for GE. The GE Profile version of this fridge in non-counter depth is far better quality and half the price.

Gorgeous but horrible ice maker

Just had this fridge installed yesterday. Love everything about it except the ice maker. Cubes are very small and it seems we only get three small cups of ice before it’s empty. We drink a lot of water and subsequently use a lot of ice so pretty frustrated.

GE stands out from other options

Overall, I'm happy with this purchase. Love the backlit interior and organization of the freezer and refrigerator. The middle third drawer is great. The overall look of the interior is great and everything opens and closes smoothly. There is a tray above the right drawer that keeps falling which interferes with closing that drawer. I can't figure out how to secure that tray or its purpose?? The exterior is attractive I wish the first model I purchased(no exterior water/ice) came in counter depth. Since I needed counter depth I had to change to the model with water/ice on exterior. My previous refrigerator was black glass and it was beautiful. Stainless black is not really black, more iron ore gray. The one thing I don't like is the ice maker. Because of its location, you lose regular size storage compartments on the left size. They are almost useless. The ice container compacity is small so it's necessary to keep an ice holder in the freezer and dump frequently. Fortunately there is enough room to do that without compromising freezer space. So, overall we are happy with the purchase with a few caveats.

Beautiful Modern Glass 4 door Counter-depth Fridge

My new counter depth Modern Glass Cafe is beautiful and smart!! Of course, it's just been installed so far so good. It was so easy to wash the glass front, no smudges! The water and autofill is working as expected. I can honestly say that I prefer white inside versus the gray, but it's still beautiful. Just letting it to cool before filling with groceries. I'm so happy to finally get it. It took 2 1/2 months to get it.

Really nothing great, except color of the Fridg

Beautiful Refrigerator…It was delivered with several BIG issues.. noise/ vibration continually, freezer drawer will only open, 1/4 of the way, doors were off by 1 inch or more. Three appointments to try to get this fridge fixed, still not fixed after 6 weeks!! Very disappointed!! I believe it has been dropped, since both of the freezer drawer rollers are crushed and need replaced! Spending $4600 for this problem of a Refrigerator is not good! The size/interior lighting is a great fit for us !

We just had this refrigerator installed 7 hours ago, but we’re already relatively familiar with it because one of our children has one; my husband has coveted it since he first opened the door. My husband is vision-impaired, and the lighting in this refrigerator makes it incredibly more convenient for him to find things - refrigerator-blindness aside. We justified getting it because our previous refrigerator was 30 cu ft, and gargantuan in our kitchen and rather big for two old farts. So, we gave it to another one of our children with a larger household. The counter depth fits much better.

Would NOT recommend! Worst experience ever!

I’m writing this review on the day that I received a replacement refrigerator. The original, delivered on January 31, 2024 defrosted and broke down five months later in June 2024. The compressor went bad and up until today, August 2, 2024, I have been without a refrigerator for two months. Bray and Scarff have a terrible rating with the BBB and it’s well earned. The only reason I elected to stay with the Cafe model was because I brought the matching range, dishwasher and microwave. I have zero confidence in this GE product line and would strongly recommend others NOT to invest their hard earned money. I lost food for which I was NOT reimbursed because I didn’t get the extended warranty. I don’t want to give Bray and Scarff or GE anymore of my money. Not after this experience or the way I as a consumer was inconvenienced by having to wait two months for a new fridge. No I was not going to let them repair the original because I should not have had to repair a refrigerator I paid over $4000 for that broke down after 5 months. Disappointed, disgusted and again, would not recommend to anyone. Buyer Beware!!!

Stopped working after 3 months

We did our entire home with Cafe appliances this 4 door fridge died on us less than 3 months into delivery. Compressor started making an extremely loud mechanical noise (almost like a portable generator) along with a somewhat oily smell. The freezer now can’t get below 50 degrees, ruining all the food we had in it. I know things can break but seriously $4k fridge is broken in less than 3 months along with ruing several hundred dollars worth of food. My wife loved the appearance of Cafe but I’d highly recommend you look elsewhere.

DO NOT BUY THIS FRIDGE AND FREEZER

i bought this fridge and freezer about 2 yrs ago and it has given me nothing but aggravation. it arrived and didnt work. i tried contacting support but they claim that as long as it can be fixed, they wont give me a new one, BUT IT NEVER WORKED TO BEGIN WITH. i paid almost 5,000 dollars for a broken fridge. i lost a lot of money [amost 1,000 dollars worth of food] they keep coming down to try and fix it, but it has never worked for 2 consecutive months.

Ample space inside.

We just installed this item and so I am early to review. The matte finish is beautiful. I’m hoping it doesn’t translate to picking up dust easier. It default came with bronze handles. I’m looking forward to purchasing the brass handles as I was not expecting them to be this bronze with a tinge of rose. The lighting and space inside seems ample. Love the flex drawer feature. Wishing it came with cocktail ice feature as some others do by default but happy to at least have ice and water on the door.

Please don't buy this refrigerator!

I've never had a more frustrating experience in my life. My brand new fridge is 6 weeks old, and already dead. First it leaked all over my floor, then the water dispenser started dumping water onto the floor (I wish I could attach the videos of this), then the freezer died, and then the fridge section died. Multiple service visits and I still don't have a functioning refrigerator. GE won't replace it, despite them selling me a total failure. They are "going to try to expedite parts" and send the repairman out yet again to fix something that shouldn't have broken at this point. I paid $4000 and it lasted 6 weeks. Ridiculous!! Customer service is a joke. I literally cried tears of frustration over the entire experience. Please listen to the poor reviews- I wish I would have!
