Mistake to buy!

Extremely disappointed in this 30-cubic 4-door French stainless steel refrigerator.

Very disappointed with this new LG fridge. Replaced an almost 10 yr old LG that I loved and I hated to part with, but start failing electronically. This new fridge is 3 cu ft smaller than the old one and it's noticeable in the freezer. The craft ice was the biggest mistake LG made to this model. We don't use it and it takes up too much room in the freezer. Essentially you have to have 2 ice cube buckets. One to fit the space of the craft ice dispenser and you have to buy another one for ice. This ice maker doesn't make ice nearly as fast as my previous LG. I am having to make ice with a counter top ice maker to supplement the minimal amount of ice production with this model. That causes me to have less freezer space because now I have to keep about 2-3 bags of ice that I made on a regular basis. The tone of the door ajar alert is very low. In my old LG you could hear it across the room. Now, I can't hear it just standing right next to it. What's the point of a door ajar sound if you can't hear it? The light in the freezer is not very bright and is hindered by opening the drawer. The door in door feature is nice but it requires you to physically push it closed vs just nudging it and letting the door swing closed by itself. I feel like that's the weight of the entire door is prohibiting the little door from closing easily. I can't seem to get the fridge to get down to 35 degrees. I have it set on 33 and only occasionally will it get to 35. It typically hovers between 37-45. Freezer still seems to be off too. I registered it to be 7 degrees one day and it's set for 0. My freezer food is still getting freezer burned even just 1-2 days after putting in the freezer. My last unit was like that in the end and even with a new compressor, it couldn't stay regulated in the freezer or fridge. I thought the convertible drawer was going to be awesome but I find that it's almost too deep and you can't see things that slide all the way to the back of the drawer. Lighting is poor too in the drawer. Very disappointed with this new model. I waited 4 weeks for it as it was on back order and I wish I had my old one back. I would have tried harder to fix it.

Stay away from LG

Stay far away from this fridge and from LG. After one month from purchasing this fridge, the ice maker stopped working. After changing the ice maker, motherboard and other components, the fridge still didn’t work. I received a replacement, but, unfortunately, the ice maker and freezer stopped working. This time, I had to work with LG for the repairs. After a month and multiple attempts to fix it, my fridge still didn’t work. I had to throw away everything in the freezer. I escalated the issue to Rachel, the Presidential Liaison, and I received the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. She’s been non-responsive and received nothing but empty promises for updates. I had to buy a new fridge and still have not been refunded by LG. I will never buy an LG product again and advice everyone to stay far away from them.

Beware Manufacture Defect

I spent a year researching and looking for a new refrigerator until I found this one. It met all my criteria & needs plus a few extra bonuses. I purchased my new fridge end of May 2023, and it was delivered 2 weeks later. Pros: French Doors w/door in door, space saving Ice maker in door, (Yes it's smaller but if I need more ice I just turn on my Ice Plus or get a bag of ice depending on my needs), Conversion drawer that can be used either as a freezer or fridge, I'm currently using it deli & snacks. A large freezer drawer w/divider & sliding shelf. Cons: Freezer has a Manufacturers Defect - LG was aware of this issue. The LG Support was rude, nasty, unhelpful, The manager was even worse and tried to claim she was "In Charge of LG". She also stated that LG was not responsible for reimbursing me for the loss of food. I lost $400 worth of meat and frozen goods and we all know that groceries, especially meat is not cheap. They fixed my freezer in Sept 2023 and then had to come back out again in Feb 2024 for the same issue. This time Support actually accused me of breaking my freezer. The repair tech said that LG told him that he had to send my parts back to them, I told him that was because they accused me of breaking my freezer. He said that there was no way I was responsible.

[Rewarded Review] Two strikes and you’re out!!!

Love the features of this refrigerator if it only kept food cold. This was working for 1 month then I noticed the floor was wet because the ice in the ice maker was melting. The food in the freezer had thawed and inside the fridge was not very cold. It started cooling again after I reset the power but I put a thermometer inside and it never would cool below 40 degrees. Best Buy support replaced it with another one and this one never would cool below 40 degrees from day one, and the freezer would only get to 20 degrees. I checked accuracy of the thermometer by putting 2 more thermometers in and they all were the same within a degree or two. We lost probably over $400 worth of food. This time we had it replaced with another brand which we’ve had for nearly 2 months now and it’s working great so far. Thank goodness for Best Buy support. Their support was superb!

GOT Junk?

So, I purchased this refrigerator in 2018. And as of today 7/10/23 I have a useless piece of junk sitting in my kitchen. After careful testing, as I am an electrician and have mechanical aptitude, have determined that the issue is a sealed system issue. Why would a (almost 5k refrigerator) just stop working? Seriously! Where is the craftsmanship and reliability? The refrigerator I replaced in 2018 had ran for close to 20yrs and was still working but having issues with cooling. I, unbeknownst to me, purchased an LG to have it break down completely within 5yrs and after the warranty and extended warranty has expired. This is unexceptable. The amount of money spent, this refrigerator should last a long long time, but no, it's just a useless piece of junk sitting in my kitchen now. And to replace the sealed system would be around 1-1500$. I would suggest buyers beware and maybe enough push back will either put a company with subpar reviews out of business or they will change how they manufacture their products. If I had the money and time I'd hire an attorney and sue for the 5k that I paid plus my time, labor and parts I purchased chasing the issue. But I don't and they don't care and I guess I'll be looking for a new refrigerator, but I can assure you, I will not be buying another LG. THEY can keep their junk, because that is what it is JUNK! I expect that if I purchase a high end refrigerator, it runs as expected. I take care of my appliances and there was no issue with outside forces or mother nature causing this issue. Thanks for rapping me for 5k and leaving me stranded with no refrigerator, which by the way, is a necessity. I hope my next purchase isn't as fruitful, I don't plan on buying junk again, although after several days of research, I read that pretty much all these new refrigerators are just ticking time bombs. I'm definitely contacting the better business bureau and file a complaint there as well. Buyer be ware!
