Our 48" has been nothing but problems and hasn't worked in 6 months. Thor customer service is all but non existent and no help. We've tried every place within a 2 hour drive locally and can't find anyone who will work on one.
Heats up quickly, but temperature is erratic
I bought this to replace a high priced brand gas double oven, that was converted to LP. That oven was serviced 9 times for the same problem (burned out oven igniter). I thought the Thor would be a better choice because it came already equipped for LP fuel, and might not be as “persnickety” to the wetter fuel. I have used it for about a month now and feel I can give a valid review:
Stylish, multiple burners, and large oven.
We recently purchased the Thor 36-inch propane range and are very pleased with it. The design is stylish and adds a sleek touch to our kitchen. The six burners offer plenty of space for cooking multiple dishes simultaneously, making meal prep much more efficient. Additionally, the spacious oven is perfect for larger dishes and baking needs. Especially oversized cookie sheets. Overall, it's been a fantastic addition to my kitchen, offering both functionality and style.
Amazing quality and features are easy to use!
I ordered this 36 inch gas range by Thor, and this has been one the best decisions I’ve made in a long time as far as appliances go. It’s very easy to use, it heats up very quickly and minimizes the time for baking as opposed to any other oven I have ever had. The quality is excellent for the amount of money spent on a commercial oven. There’s nothing like Thor and with all this being said I will not change for any other brand.
Purchased stove 3 years ago, now having problems
Love the simplicity of this unit, but 3 years old and it started to trip the circuit breaker every time the oven was turned on. Fix was to replace the ovens lower ignitor, the replacement obviously has been upgraded. Now that works, but the igniters for the top now do not work...can still light the burners with a match. Thought I was buying a better built product. Wondering what is going to fail next
Nice unit but does no go low enough to simmer
I've only had this range for less than a week. Seems well built. Looks great but burners won't go low enough to simmer. Lowest burner is 9000 btu but even at lowest setting it's to hot. Im getting a cast iron simmer plate to overcome this issue. Otherwise seems like a great unit...especially if your using the optional wok or griddle that requires the high Btu's.
Happy Wife, Happy Life
We have been using our Thor range for almost two months. I can’t say enough how pleased we are with this range. My wife and daughter have been cooking meals that even Odin would love to set his teeth into. The oven does an exceptional job of evenly baking everything. I would highly recommend this range to anyone who is looking at stepping up their cooking experience.
Beautiful & Efficient Gas Range
This was our 1st range we ever purchased. We recently upgraded our kitchen. Wow.it heats up quick. We had a little learning curve getting use to such powerful burners. We are thrilled we chose Thor. We have lots of dinner parties and our friends enjoy getting to use. I also didn't realize how nice it is to have the solid grate at the top. It makes it easy to slide your cook wear across. I can't wait to try the griddle and wok features.
Thor 30” Gas Range
We bought the Thor range at Lowe’s. We have lived in the same home for over 30 years. We have owned many nice gas ranges. I am so tired of the broken motherboards and bells & whistles that die over time. The parts get discontinued and the warranty runs out. I just want a simple stove and oven that works - I can cook without recipes and timers! This Thor range may only be 30” but it is simple to use and cooks beautifully. It doesn’t heat up my kitchen or blast me in the face with heat when I open the oven door to peek. It took the family a couple of lessons to get use to the new burner knobs ignition. Our Thor gets used for breakfast and dinner daily. Food is so expensive to not be able to cook correctly on a proper range. This gas range temperatures are spot on. We are looking forward to many years with our Thor. We are also looking at the baby Thor microwave OTR unit once our 20 year old unit dies. Thanks.
DO NOT buy this stove/range!
Told others have same problems with adjustments ovens & range. Took MONTHS to get them to fix ovens (the large off 75+ degrees & smaller 100+ degrees). The smaller still varies 50 degrees under to 100 degrees over as it cooks, Co. states normal. Burners needed adjusting to an actual simmer, were constantly burning food. The griddle still off (with new thermostat) by 50 degrees. Co. says going to refund the repair costs, but not as of this review, 2 1/2 months later.
Quality? I don’t think so…
There are quality issues and Thor doesn’t really seem interested in addressing them…
[Rewarded Review] Love the feature set !!
A nice range, competes with the higher costing ranges with similar features. We are on the 3rd range, 1st one damaged on delivery, second one had leaking issues, Thor made it right and did a special check on this the 3rd unit working out well . . . like all appliances these day becareful finish scratches easily . . .
[Rewarded Review] Now your cooking!!
Why did I wait so long? The flat grates make the ability to move large stockpots and pressure canners a breeze. Finally an ignitor set at the beginningvof turning the dial not at the end. Oven bakes great and the convection fan is so quiet. If i could ask for one more perk it would be a deeper oven to place extra large baking sheets. I would reccommend this range 100%. Good price and exactly what I needed.
Love this stove
We bought our 48" Thor oven about 4 years ago and we love it. We have a big family and we do a lot of cooking and baking. Having two ovens is amazing. It is also nice when we just have something small to just use the small oven and save energy. And having 6 burners, plus the griddle, is so great. We looked and evaluated ovens for over a year before we chose the Thor. It is aot less expensive since there are no bells and whistles. But we just want a great oven and that is what we ended up with.
[Rewarded Review] Very happy with this product
Picked up the range yesterday. Cooked breakfast on it this morning. So nice to have a simple appliance that doesn't have electronic controls, digital screens, etc. My only complaint is why oh why do manufacturers put sticky labels that don't peel easily on their beautiful products. You will notice what I mean in the photo. Also, notice the hood, another Thor product.
Do not buy any Thor appliances
My Thor oven/range is 5 years old. Recently an oven door hinge warped and I can no longer get the door open.
I love my new 48 inch range! Cooking has become fun again
This appliance's expansive 48-inch size provides ample cooking space, allowing me to simultaneously prepare multiple dishes with ease. The six high-powered burners deliver consistent heat, giving me precise control over cooking temperatures. The sleek stainless steel design adds a professional touch to my kitchen, and the continuous cast-iron grates are not only durable but also easy to clean. Whether it's everyday meals or grand feasts, this range delivers exceptional performance, making it a top-notch addition to any kitchen. I highly recommend it to fellow food enthusiasts!
[Rewarded Review] Very happy so far
I wanted a range without the fancy electronics, and decided on a Thor. It was only installed a few days ago, but so far I'm very happy with it. This is concerning the LRG3001U, 30-inch natural gas range.
Thor fridge > Kitchenaid
This refrigerator was a breath of nice quite cold air - literally. We purchased a KitchenAid krsc503ess side by side about 6 months prior to purchasing the Thor. The KitchenAid was: The. Worst. Refrigerator. Ever. It required service multiple times, sounded like a jet engine, was predominantly room temperature, and cost us several hundred dollars in spoiled food. A styrofoam ice chest would have offered far superior performance.
