not happy

Trying to decide whether to return. Very few standard bulbs fit inside this globe because the globe is too small and the bulbs are tight against the globe. Can't push the globe up far enough (because of the tight fit of the bulbs against the glass) so can't screw the bottom pieces on. A smaller 40 watt bulb will probably fit but I don't have one to check. The other thing is that in the picture the globe looks frosted but it's not, so you can clearly see the bulbs through it, which I don't like.

Don’t Buy this Shoddy, Useless Light Fixture

This ceiling fixture was a huge disappointment. The craftsmanship with which it is made is poor. Its assembly involves many small pieces of hardware which need to be removed and reinstalled anytime you want to change a lightbulb. But the biggest problem is the glass globe doesn’t fit over standard-size lightbulbs. A HUGE waste of money.

A great traditional fixture that would be a great addition to a historic home or antique look design

This fits the bill for a very traditional/historic look fixture that is classic in looks and functions well to blend the ORB/Black hardware in many homes now. It was used in a laundry room to coordinate with ORB hardware and crown moulded cabinets with ORB hardware. It could perhaps be a bit brighter using LED bulbs and the frosted/ribbed glass would keep those from being too harsh. We like incandescent so the fixture may not be as bright as possible but it's a nice soft glow in the room.

Lasting Tradition

Purchased two of these fixtures, one for the bedroom and one for the hallway. The house was built in 1937 and the design of these fixtures suits the style and age of the home for a traditional look. The combination of clear and frosted glass makes for great lighting in the spaces and the dark bronze added a little bit of color to the antique white walls without being the focal point. Contemporary or modern is not always the right choice when updating your older home. Traditional fixtures make the beauty of the lovely architectural details stand out.
