Awesome lil machine cooled me right down

poor experience

I just installed it and it doesn't feel like cold air is coming out just basic wind this is so strange. Is it because it's not hot in the house I don't get it.

Very Good Basic AC with a few limitations

I have had a few Danby AC units over the last 40 years and have always been satisfied. I purchased this one after my previous larger unit finally failed after almost 15 years. I sized down as my last one was a bit too large for my 170 sq ft bedroom. This new 5000 BTU unit is a perfect size. The only things I do not like about it are likely due to the fact that the larger AC units are more popular. This unit has no remote as it has strictly a mechanical, not digital, operating system. Some other corners have been cut as well. It no longer has a removable front panel for easy access to the filter, which must be removed every 2 weeks for cleaning. Access to it is very difficult in comparison. As well without a removable front panel, you can no longer vacuum the cooling coils in the front to clean them as you could in all the previous units I have had. Other than these design shortcuts the unit functions extremely well quickly cooling my bedroom quite quickly no matter how hot it has been outdoors. Contributes to much-needed quality sleep!

Excellent AC for smaller spaces

Excellent basic machine for smaller spaces. Very quiet and cools far quicker than I expected. Simple to operate. My space is a little larger than the rated space and it cooled it far better than I would have expected. I have had Danby air conditioners before and have never been disappointed. Highly recommended.

Too noisy and not really cool down

Perfect for a small space. Front filter is easy to clean.

Finally found one that fits!

The tiny hot little room that served as my bedroom is now my own son's room so it's time we got some air conditioning in there. I have looked around quite a bit and had a had time finding a unit to fit the tiny windows in this room. This A/C unit popped right into place without a problem. I had expected it to be close and thought I would have to remove the inner glass panel and fabricate something out of wood to retain the device but to my amazement it fit right in after angling down while installing. So fully and safely installed to boot! No more extension cords running fans all over the room. Nice little A/C unit - I purposely bought the manual unit - no need to pay for electronics that can fail - give me a couple nice old fashioned dials and we are golden - especially for a kids room.
