Bad machine! Broke after four months of use!

I bought this to do light mending and simple alterations in December. It's performed well until today. I was in the middle of taking up a few lightweight summer blouses when it suddenly stopped and refused to sew anymore. I'm disgusted as the machine is not even six months old and I doubt that I've used it even ten times. This is my first and last Janome.

LOVE 1) buttonhole works perfectly-use buttonhole foot 2) easy to thread 3) stays threaded when sewing 4) rarely jams 5) will sew thru several layers-sew slowly 6) after functions are learned-u got it-always do a test stitch (saves ripping it out) 7) stitch guide lines on the bobbin cover and the sewing machine plate 9) lightweight 10) when filling a bobbin with thread follow the guidelines on top of machine for success. DISLIKES bobbin case fits tightly over the bobbin winder. And HAVE FUN!

Easy to assemble, be cautious on the feet that go with the machine. I had to order different feet compared to my previous Janome.

I think this will be a good sewing machine for my teen-aged granddaughter. It was easy to set up using the instructions that came with the machine. She doesn't know how to sew. There will be a learning curve while she figures it out.

Poor in stitching. Not good even for cotton. I bought it amd tried every possible setting but nothing works ,finally returned. Because it does not proper stitches any cloth.

I was very skeptical about this sewing machine. See I have not used a sewing machine in a long time, always had problems with them. Okay could of been me. Well let me tell you when this arrived, it was so light, I thought hummmmmm, wasn’t sure. Well I set it up had to sew so material from my patio chairs. Wow, Wow, Wow. Love it! Was so easy works perfect, I am going to try to sew a couple of things, like a apron. Just love it. Very simple. I would definitely recommend this little guy. Absolutely Love it.

Great little machine

i am an experience seamstress and needed a new machine for the basics. Very easy to use and stitches were perfect right out of the box. So far, I really love it.

I love this sewing machine! I have been looking for quite awhile for one that would be simple to use, this is just what I wanted and needed. The directions were very simple to follow and the self threading needle is a great help and so easy to use. Sewing machines are hard to come by these days with COVID 19 but glad I was able to purchase one from unlikely source at HD that came they for my family and shipped timely. A small learning curve but have gained comfort in using machine which is very smooth in operating with user friendly features like needles threading and bobbin thread capture. Would recommend highly recommend to anyone. Thank you HD for sourcing and making these available my family thanks you and we can now make our own masks for friends and family.

This sewing machine is fantastic! It’s way better then the singer sewing machine I had. It’s much easier to use and an all around smoother machine. I completely recommend this machine to all who need one.

My fiancé wanted a nice high-quality beginner sewing machine. This had great reviews and we decided to go for it. Right away she was making face masks out of old clothes and now she is getting ready to make other things. The directions are great and it feels and looks like a nice quality machine.

Lightweight and easy to operate.

I bought this for the 8-year-old daughter of a friend for Christmas. It has not been out of the box and will not be until Christmas morning. I have two Janome machines and love both of them. They are reliable and do a great job of stitching. I'm sure this one I bought for the little sewing star will also be reliable. I do plan to teach her how to sew.

Sewing machine Arrived disfunctional!

I love Janome sewing machines. I bought this machine and it does not work. It will not move the needle to a center position. It will not make any other stitch than a straight stitch. I am frustrated because this machine should have arrived in working condition and it did not. I am an experienced seamstress and have been sewing for over 50 years. I own several machines and many different brands. I also own another Janome and love it. I highly recommend Janome especially for an entry level machine. This machine did not live up to the reputation of Janome or Zulily!

All my vintage sewing machines got too heavy for me to lift. I am loving this 12 pound Janome machine. It sews smoothly and quietly, plus is easy to use. I actually bought this machine a week or so after- I had purchased the Janome-15 for my twin granddaughters! Already have recommended this machine to several of my sewing friends.

I have zero experience using a sewing machine. That being said, this machine was pretty easy to use. Overall, the instructions are pretty well set up. If you are a first time user, the instructions will help but it would be a good idea to have somebody experienced with sewing around to help.

It had been a long time since i had a sewing machine, so I had to teach myself a little bit of everything all over again, but this is quite nice. The instruction booklet is clear and easy to understand with plenty of diagrams or pictures, which is half the battle right there! The fabric/needle chart helps beginners (which I am again) know which needle to use for which fabric. The extension table for free arm sewing is wonderful. They never had that when I had a sewing machine. I hemmed my pants in no time and very easily. I love that it has already programmed stitches in the machine so I don't have to learn to do them. I put a new zipper in my pants in no time. Awesome. I would definitely recommend.
