Solved a timer problem for when away.

Used for various light timing when away and seemed to work well. Instructions a bit difficult and took a few attempts to get what I wanted.

Pro & Con

Is appears to be a very capable device with more options than a normal timer has.

Best Timer I Have Ever Found

Excellent timer. It has 2 outlets so you can control 2 devices. It is easy to program, and the Daylight Savings Time (DST) button makes it very convenient when the time changes. One press of this button and the time on the timer changes. The internal battery holds the programming in the event of a power outage. The best timer I have found.

Works better than my last timer

Used in an an aquaponics setup. Works like a charm, at least for the last few weeks, and wasn't too hard to set up. I run my pump for a few minutes each hour, 20 hours a day. Seems to be great for this application.

Do not recommend

This timer gets very hot. Burnt the outlet it was plugged into once and tripped the breaker a second time. I do not recommend

Be prepared have these timers not work properly.

One good thing is that there are a lot of options for turning off and on my lights - way more than I would ever need. I purchased two of these timers to replace other ones that I loved, but that broke after 10+ years. I've used one and no matter what I do, the timer is wonky. I've reset it a couple of times since daylight savings ended and it still turns on at 3:30 some mornings and doesn't turn on other mornings (it is supposed to turn on at 4:50am). It sometimes turns itself off on time and other times it doesn't. If I turn it off manually, it won't turn back on. I wish I had my old ones back! I will use the other one for Christmas lights; I sure hope it works, but I'm not holding out much hope.

The digital timer doesn't short out if you have to much power going through 15amp not 20amp timer even if you short it out it's as if they put a GFI in it smart . Longest in business woods digital now as reliable as analog .

I bought three of these and exchanged them because it appeared that the battery didn't charge to allow programming - the instructions say plug in for one hour prior to programming and after leaving the unit plugged in for more than a day, I was not able to get it to come on to program. I was about to return them when I stumbled on a post with the advice to insert the end of a paper clip in the hole next to the letter "R" on the front to reset. Worked like a charm and I was able to program following the instructions. Programming this unit is a bit clunky - seems old fashioned compared to the way other modern electronics function. The units have been working reliably for a year but next time I need one I'm either going completely old school with the pins and dial or upgrading to a better quality unit

After 9 years the original Woods digital times stoped working properly so we replaced it with a new one from Home Depot. A Side note, found that by pushing the "R" hole with a tooth pick it corrected the error. Now we are putting two Woods times to good use.

Timer failed in about 2 months and would not turn on. It is very confusing to program. There are about 10 steps to sequence through and some steps are not identified on screen so very easy to lose track of each step. It is difficult to keep track of which step you are on and may not know if you are setting the current time, On time, Off time, sun rise, or sunset. Going through 10 steps over and over is frustrating. After this one failed to switch on I purchased a different timer which is also somewhat confusing to program but all steps are identified on screen which makes it considerably easier to know what step you are on.

This is the replacement timer for my water treatment system which draws 17 amps on start up. It runs at 13 amps and the timer generally last 2-3 years before it croaks. Not super intuitive to program but following the instructions will get you there.

Woods 50009WD programming awkward, otherwise a good timer.

Found this timer able to do what I needed (turn off my router for 1 minute every morning at 3am) after I got around the awkward programming procedure and instructions.

Doesn't work

The timer held a charge and was able to set a simple program. Unfortunately, it doesn't work. Once turned on, it never turns off. The countdown timer doesn't work either- this just stays on always!! Defeats the purpose of a timer. This is going back.
