It replaced one that looked like it, which had another company's logo on it. It was easy to install, and fully compatible with the different brand receiver in the fan canopy - all I had to do was match the DIP switch setting with the switch it replaced - no need to change the receiver in the fan. The fact that it uses house power rather than a battery is the reason I bought it, and I am not disappointed.
