Arrived Shattered

The shipping box was completely unblemished, but the toilet base was shattered. I've read a few other complaints about this product being broken upon delivery. It's apparent there's a flaw in both design and packing. Very disappointed. It's even more disappointing that Lowe's wouldn't offer expedited shipping on a replacement given the fact this issue has stalled construction for us.

Busted in shipment

Bowl was received shattered then I live between different Lowe’s stores. Picked up at one then tried to return to another the same evening since I was going that way. That store said that it had to be returned to the store I picked it up from because I ordered it online shipped to store. So reloaded it and took it to the store of pickup and told them what the other store said and they told me that was not true and that they should have returned it for me.

This was my second attempt to purchase this toilet from Lowe's, both came in "broken" in many pieces. That's close to $1000 of purchases returned because of the item being carelessly handled while being shipped or stocked. Time to go elsewhere and see if I can find a toilet that does not arrive in pieces.

The hardware required that attaches the bowl to the floor was missing from the box. Can you supply the missing hardware

Be careful when ordering this toilet. It’s not Comfort Height…it’s Standard! I ordered this thinking it was over 16”…it’s 15”. I wanted to return it and made Wayfair aware of the miss label. They still charged me the return shipping fee. Very bad business practice on their part!

I was surprised that the product came without a seat or wax ring for installation.

Connection from toilet to the wall

This product is very much as described and has met our needs for the space we have. The one challenge I had with installation was puzzling over the connection from the toilet to the wall. The instructions say to use a felt or neoprene seal and that a wax seal (which is standard for most floor-mounted toilets) is not recommended. Unfortunately, the felt or neoprene seal is not included with the toilet and are not easy to find. Looking online, many people ordered them which is frustrating when you discover this during the actual process of installation. Our local Lowes had a toilet seal which is not wax (it's not felt either, some sort of rubber material, maybe neoprene?) made by Fluidmaster and supposedly works for all toilets (wall mounted not specifically stated). So we gave that one a try and it appears to be working, fingers crossed, now a few weeks since installation. We did add some waterproof caulk to the toilet seal inside the waste PVC pipe as an extra precaution. Given this is an expensive toilet and the toilet seals are not expensive, it would have been nice if American Standard was more clear about what to use or simply provided one with the toilet. Also note this toilet does not come with a toilet seat. Other note (which other reviews also mentioned): this toilet sounds like an airplane toilet when you flush so be prepared for that. My wife and I don't find it too disruptive but it is different from standard residential toilets.

Not worth the cost.

Takes about 2-3 flushes to get anything down it which is understandable for a rear discharge but not considering how expensive it is. 3 stars because of how over priced it is. Lowes got it to me quick.

Came packaged very well. We had previously ordered 2 from a home improvement store and they both came broken That took a month and still had no toilet. So happy with Wayfair's fast shipping. Came faster than expected and had it installed in no time. We had bought a previous assisted flush and love the way these work at a 90 degree pipe turn in the wall. Exactly what we needed!

Fast flush and fast refill. The holes for the floor bolts are a problem as the holes are not elongated to accommodate the sliding of the bowl back into the rear seal. I had to cut off the old bolts and install new ones.

Great product and experience

My wife and I tried to order this toilet through a different retailer and that turned out to be a disaster. The first one arrived broken and it took them over a month to be ready to ship a replacement. Lowe’s was a totally different story, they gave great service and fast delivery. The toilet installed easily and does the job we need it to do. Some reviews we read said it is a little loud when it flushes, that is true but it has plenty of power to make sure there are no clogs which is more important to us.

Many Problems

It's just as loud as everyone says it is. Even with all that noise, you don't get a complete flush every time. It came with parts missing and the foam gasket between the bowl and tank was not the correct one so I had to go out and buy a different one to make the toilet work. For $450+ you would at least expect the correct parts. Oh, and the first one came broken due to a poor packaging design. The most delicate part of the toilet has no foam, just right against the cardboard.
