Amazingly great exhaust fan

Installed a month ago. I have lung issues and this fan saved me from leaving the room when frying a steak or other smoke generating foods. In addition, it is easy to clean. I use to dread cleaning my previous hood because it was difficult to remove the residue cups and fan drip system. Hurt my neck everytime. I didn’t know what I was missing until this new Typhoon fan was installed. Thank you!

This is an excellent vent hood . The first one I owned I purchased at a specialty store in Dallas. I just bought a new gas cook top so I decided to replace it . This is an awesome item. I’ve owned the previous one for 15 years so I have that to go on. Easy to clean, very strong venting . Hard to believe but they actually added touch screen instead of buttons and more speeds for venting and lighting . So with this new Typhoon Zephyr venthood it makes 15 straight years of awesome venting . This is a product that I will stand by. Looking forward to another decade .

Nice unit, lots of cfm, usable features and touch controls. Like the idea of grease catchers instead of filters; will see how that works. Plastic protective covering was a pain to get off. DO NOT use any metal to take off. In attaching the vent adapter there were not enough screws to fill the holes; needed 4 more. Use aluminum ducting tape to seal the adapter. Check your cabinet depth. Ours was 11.5" and the factory mount hole were showing in the front of the cabinet.(Had to add trim to cover this) We had to drill other holes further back. Before installing check adjacent cabinet door to see if they will clear. In installing the fan covers there were very sketch directions (also for the electrical hookup) on the proper position. This was complicated with the fact that these grills did not fit flush in their openings; quality control. One of the fan hubs was dented. Wondered if this might affect the fans bearing in time. We thought that this range hood, for what we got and was made in Taiwan, was over priced. Did call customer service on these things; did not get a lot of clarifications. ie. there were 3 welded clips on each fan housing; agent did not know what they were for or why there were extra holes in the vent cover to let air escape. Assumed the clips were there for holding wires but nothing mentioned anywhere.

We've had the hood for over 3 months now, and I still love it. It is very quiet and easy to use. And I particularly love the curved look - very chic!

Looks great, powerful, quieter than others we tested. The LED lights have three levels of brightness with the high setting being very bright. At 850CFM, there is zero smoke escaping. Highly recommended!

Excellent product

I bought my first Zephyr Typhoon Range Hood 17 years ago and was very happy with it. It would probably still be working if I hadn’t put 50 Watt LED bulbs in the sockets. This Range Hood fit perfectly under my custom made cabinet which was the original reason I bought it. It worked so well I was delighted I could replace it with almost the same model.

Awesome addition to any kitchen. This thing is quiet, moves so much air and is beautiful to look at. Clean up is easy and no filters to fool with. Also the LED lighting is perfect and the controls for the lights and fan are easy and look nice.

My new construction home came with a 220 CFM Frigidaire range hood. It was grossly undersized for the gas stove beneath it, and any time we cooked with just a small amount of oil, you could smell it throughout the entire house. After doing some research, Zephyr had a quality reputation that justified the price. I was able to remove the original hood by myself and the only time I needed assistance with the new one was when it came time to mount it (aligning the holes with the screws is a lot easier with four eyes and four hands). We decided to break in the new hood with a dish that was notorious for its lingering odor (lomo saltado). Using only half of its fan speed, this unit was able to clear all odors in real time and with minimal noise. I highly recommend this range hood. It's worth the extra money!

Works well, as expected. Replaced an older Zephyr from ~15 years ago. The older one was still functional but the buttons to control the hood fan started breaking after so many years of daily use. So we expect this new one to be as durable as the previous one.

The fans, there are 2, really work well, are very powerful. I'm now able to pan sear meat without smoking up my house at all if you crack a kitchen window to give some air intake into the room. Didn't notice until after I had ordered it that Home Depot has it listed as non-returnable.
