We wanted a plastic one since the old one was original to the house and had rusted. Plus, plastic is easier to clean and doesn't have the possibility of cutting your fingers when installing or removing. Sheet metal can be brutal on hands.
Bought by mistake. Easy return then bought the metal one. Fits opening 10 X 6 very well.

If your metal vents condensate, get this!
Recently, I had my AC repaired, and once it was repaired, it was working so good, it was causing a metal vent in the hottest room of the house condensate. As in, dripping wet along the wall. I googled how to fix, one of the options was to get plastic vents. No more condensation!

Lightweight and easy to install but manipulating the louvers was difficult.

Installed these upstairs 6 years ago and just loved them so much I'm installing these in the rest of the house. They don't rust or show dust and VERY easy to install. Highly recommended.
