We have been using our propane kitchen stove for 3 or 4 weeks and are so far very pleased with it. The conversion from natural gas to propane probably only took about an hour with no problems. It lights very quickly, including the oven which we use quite a bit. The stove top burners are very adjustable enabling us to simmer things very slowly when we want. The delivery team were very accommodating, letting us look the stove over carefully to be sure of no damage in shipping. Couldn’t be more pleased!
Ok, no frills, gas stove.
Easy to use, not bad looking. But when i say no frills. I mean, nothing. No clock, no beep or light to tell you that the oven has reached the set temperature. So, you must set a timer to remind you that you lit the oven. Or else you forget that you did. Also, mine is 50 degree off, too hot. I'll get to fixing that some day. So for now, i use an oven thermometer. The Broiler is a little strange. I am used to the entire drawer pulling out with the door, i dont know how i will like this rack only pull out after you open the door. So far, i am not a fan.
The worst stove
We just moved to an apartment with this oven and I hate it! I’ve been cooking on gas my whole life and never had so many problems with an oven. The stove is fine, but the oven doesn’t indicate at all when it’s preheated & doesn’t preheat to the correct temp at all. I bought an oven thermometer to tell me the temp & when i set to 350 it goes to 400. It also makes the entire stove top scalding hot when the oven is in use. Do not buy! Probably will buy an air fryer or toaster oven just to avoid using the oven function on this because it’s so sketchy.
OK, but one big issue
This stove burns things on a regular basis. It seemed to always be 40-50° higher than the dial indicated. Once I set the oven that much below the recipe, it did OK, but not great. It seems to not be a very consistent temperature inside the oven. Try your best to get the food as centered as you can. Even doing that though, it still tends to burn a little on the outside edges.
Good quality, function and design.
We purchased this range on behalf of my parents, to replace a 33 year old model. They wanted something basic without digital displays and controls and other modern features they have no use of. This range checked all those boxes, while still being stylish in design, sturdily constructed, and very nice in appearance. My mother loves this range as it is similar to her previous one, making the transition easier, and with the added new benefit of a light in the oven and a window in the door.
Oven is junk
We've had this stove for 10 years. The stove top is fine. The grates are solid and large enough.
Bought this model be cause it is simple and dont need/want a bunch of “bells and whistles” but I DID want a broiler drawer. This model says
Hidden Costs, Badly Designed, Oven Not Accurate
Installation kit AND boiler pan are extra $$. Burners are so tall that pots & pans don't make good contact w/flame. Takes 3x as long to boil H2O as my old stove. Separate burners for for "high, med & low" heat. WHAT? Just make every burner work from very high to very low so I don't have to think about what to cook on which burner. Broiler is useless because it's near the floor and is impossible to clean. Oven isn't calibrated.
Easily scratched on top
Front gas burner slow igniting had it replaced then it did again and they said it was out of warranty. Now Im stuck with it. Dangerous gas emits while its trying to light. Also the porcelain coated grids made scratches divots in the black paint where they sit on top of the burners. No drawer in botton for broiler. Very disappointed in the quality of this Range.
Poor performance bad design
purchased it will be 3 years this march. Never could get temp to regulate in oven, burned too cold or too hot. 10 months after purchase the light bulb exploded in the over. Had to get a shelf thermostat to read over temp and adjust temp baked goods burn or undercook. The top range is poor design pans slide off grates if not positioned directly in center and flame is hard to adjust to keep at constant temp. Now the thermostat has gone out on the oven and will have to get repaired. The oven door and front controls get very hot when both oven and stove top are both used at the same time. The enamel finish is thin and poorly painted chips off easily when bumped or drop something on it. Junk waste of you hard earned money
caught on fire 1 minute after plugging it in
Plugged the ramge in for the 1st time after installing it and it tripped the breaker. Reset the breaker and a loud humming noise started coming from underneath the range top then smoke started coming out the back of the range. I ran to the breaker and turned it off but the kitchen was already full of smoke. I just remolded this house so now I have to try to get the snoke smell out of the kitchen and get a new range so my renters can move in
Caught on fire first time I plugged it in
I hooked up the gas line and plugged the range into the electrical outlet to light the stove for the first time and heard aloud humming noise coming from underneath the cooktop. I tried to light the burners but the igniter didn’t work and smoke started coming from underneath the cook top. I ran to the breaker box and flipped the breaker but the kitchen was full of smoke. I just finished remodeling this house so now I have to clean up the smoke damage and get a new range before I can rent it.
Not the Expected Quality
I'm sorry for this but I purchased a lemon. The oven temperature is off about 25 degrees. I purchased oven thermometers (two different types) after the first time I used the oven. Not only that, but when I bake the same thing, even accounting for the 25 degree difference, it doesn't bake at the same temperature or time from one time to the next. I can't stand this and plan to purchase a new stove. It's too bad. I can't afford to throw away money like this.
Good for the price!
Good stove with two issues. Number one, the broiler is very low to the floor. As an older person it's just hard to get down on the floor to get to the broiler. The other issue is when the oven light is switched on, it blows the breaker fuse. I have yet to look at the problem. So far I just don't use the oven light. The good: The price! It really is a good range for the price. Black Friday special!
Basic, and basically good
The cooking elements work well. This is a very basic model which I prefer, with no digital/computer elements. Unfortunately, it is very awkward to use the broiler which is placed pretty much at floor level. I also noticed that the burner tops easily chip off their shiny black coating even with very gentle use.
Gets the job done!
A really good basic oven! This is a straightforward oven with very little frills. I love the stovetop with the sturdy grills and easy to clean enamel. The oven knobs are also sturdy and easy to use, the oven interior is spacious. The white design is classic and clean. Stovetop cooking and oven roasting and baking all have been very good. My only complaint is that it emits heat when using the oven; perhaps it should have been more insulated. But that would not stop me from buying this appliance again.
DANGEROUS! Overheated and BURNED MY TODDLER
This model is dangerous. Oven overheats so much that items on my counter 3ft away started to melt & drawer knobs around the oven heated up. My toddler got 2nd-degree burns opening a drawer 3 doors down. HD will do nothing because we “didn’t report” within 24 hrs of installation—we didn’t even use it within 24 hours so there was no way to know! Shame on HD for selling, and GE for not recalling this model. Will be contacting a lawyer.
Cheaply made and incomplete
Warning - this stove does not come with a broiler pan. You have to order it extra as an "accessory". Also, even worse, all the little apparatus involving the pilot light, little wires, etc., is completely exposed to anything you might me cooking in the broiler, like splattering grease, which is dangerous and would be impossible to clean.
Basic elegance
This range has no bells or whistles. It's as basic as it comes. Whether it's incorporated into a modern or stand alone rustic kitchens it can hold its own space nicely.
[Rewarded Review] Pretty Awesome
Don't judge my pic...my kitchen is BEYOND super small and we store clean cookware on the stovetop on the reg...lol. We've have this stove for a month now. Works great. The oven preheats fairly fast and cooks in a timely manner. The only "Be Aware" I have is we went from cast iron grates to metal and they can be quiet slippery. Make sure it is 100% level or your cookware will slide right off. Adjusting the legs are super easy, though. Not sure if it needs to be broken in or if it'll always be that way. Regardless, we're not rich so it doesn't really matter...lol. We're SUPER happy with this purchase. If you're on a budget like us, it's a fantastic buy to treasure for years to come!
