Great features but failed within first week

Purchasing and installation were flawless and worthy of a 5/5. However, the cooktop failed within one week. I had the impression that the failure was a common one that has not been corrected in manufacturing. Build quality and subsequent customer service were terrible. The customer service agents were only marginally trained and functional. Service was set up with one company (not GE) that never called and any calls to them went unanswered to voice mail. Then GE scheduled another company and gave an appointment time and date that the company would not honor. All in all, the repair took longer than ordering and installing the original cooktop took.

quick heat

My previous model had a warning light to let us know which rings were still hot after use, this was a great way for my kids to know not to touch them, this model does not have that and now they're getting close to accidentally burning themselves until they get used to this new system, I would recommend putting this warning system on all cooktops

Take photo of cooktop label before installation!

This cooktop is very nice. However, when I went to add this on the SmartHQ app it asked for the password to connect it to WiFi. This is on the label underneath the cooktop. But this had already been installed and was no longer visible. After four tries with the app it showed "new device detected by bluetooth". This let me install the cooktop. Taking a photo of the label underneath the cooktop is a good idea.

Take photo of label underneath before installing

Looks great. Will need to get some Hestan Cue cookware to fully utilize it. Had a freakout after it was installed. When I was using the app to connect it to wifi and app, the app asked for the password which is on the label UNDERNEATH the cooktop. It was installed over an oven and inaccessible. Eventually the Bluetooth started up and took over registering it onto the app. Whew!

Good stovetop

It’s good, it works, just doesn’t seem to head things up as quickly as I hoped. Somewhat difficult to keep clean. I do like the ease of the buttons and controls of the stove.

Very nice and safe features.

I really like the feature that you can turn the burners off by holding down the button for 3 seconds. This is a safety feature that I like because you can easily turn a burner on by just running over the buttons unintentionally if the button is not on lock.

What a perfect cooktop. Looks great and functions well. Great addition to our new kitchen. Also from Lowe’s.

Not as good as it used to be

We replaced our old 36" GE Profile with the new 36" GE Profile and I am not as pleased with it as the original, which was 25 years old. The new cooktop does not get as hot as the old and the cooktop surface scratches much more easily and is very difficult to clean, although we are using the same recommended cooktop cleaner we have always used. I wish I had my old one back.

So far, so good, only had it installed for about a month. It does look like cleanup is a little bit more difficult than the previous GE model. Time will tell. I do like the functions of the digital dial.

The unit was not what I expected. I have owned GE PROFILE for 25 years. When I built this house I put GE PROFILE Appliances. When I changed the old units out, I replaced them with GE PROFILE. This unit already has the silver around the burners spreading outward. I replaced my GE PROFILE Induction cooktop with the radiant cooktop, and I am not satisfied at all. I am willing to pay the difference to swap this radiance unit with an Induction unit.

Great except…..

Love the cook top itself. But should have never bought the one with stainless steel trim. It scratches so easily and looks terrible.

great except.....

The stovetop itself is great. I recommend you get the one without the stainless steel edge. It scratches so easily. They shouldn't even offer it as a feature.

Wonderful and so much easier to clean with the touch screen! Installers were top notch! Polite and efficient and my cherry counter tops are intact!

[Rewarded Review] Works great

The product works great! I was concerned about the difference in the new controls versus my old knobs, but it works well. Very intuitive.

Cracked in Half Within 6 Months of Use

This item cracked in half after 6 months of normal use. Nothing dropped on it and I was cooking eggs when it happened - so, no "spillage."

[Rewarded Review] Cracked in Half Within Less Than 6 Months of Use

I purchased this item in May; it is December. We were using this item this morning to fry eggs. After cooking, I removed the pan from the stove and walked away. I heard a "pop" and noticed that the cooktop had cracked in half. When I called GE, the rep was rude and immediately indicated that it will likely not be covered by the one-year warranty. For example, if there is any "spillage" - this is not covered. Again, I was cooking eggs and there was not spillage.

Love It

I just had it installed but so far I am loving the precision temperature control and I love the full 36 inches. Also, I really like the burner placement. My old cooktop had control knobs on the side so I lost cooking space.

This has been installed for just a month with limited use but the cooktop worked great for what I have used it for! One thing to note is that you don't see the temp in degrees unless you use precision cooking with a smart pan. Precision cooking only works with a smart pan. I obviously didn't understand this. My own fault. But anyway, I have a smart pan on the way!

Inaccurate Product Measurements

Great looking cooktop. I like the feature of having a timer right on my stove top. We replaced an old 36” cooktop that was malfunctioning. The measurements listed are 36 1/8” wide and 21” deep. Actual measurements are 35 15/16” wide and 20 3/8” deep. So in our application we ended up with a 5/8” gap behind our cooktop. We’ll be looking for a trim kit to fill the space.
