No lifetime warranty on defective controller

I have 2 of these fans On my back porch. They're very expensive to buy and more expensive to repair. Save your money and buy a throw away fan. Cheaper and you can replace it yourself. This fan is very expensive to fix. One Of my fans is a lemon and shorted out 3 times And constantly stops communicating with the wall switch or the remote. I called the manufacturer and they would not deal with faulty electronics.

Fan speed

Model says there are three fan speeds, mine only has two, medium and high. Both levels are two high and loud for the room I have placed it. The light does not get very bright either.

Stopped working

We have had 3 of these fans for 10 years. They are under a coved screen porch. One by one they just stopped running. One makes a squealing noise and one the fan works and one only rotates. We have not been outside due to the winter. Do they have a lifetime warranty?

Too many moving parts

I originally had 4 of these fans under covered porches. The motor went out early in one and it was covered under the warranty and replaced. Then about 2 years later the other three went out, first the blades would spin but the light wouldn’t and visa versa. Electrician just said there are too many moving parts on these fans with duality spinning fans, plus light and each is separately controlled with remote. These are just too expensive to replace.

Noise after 1.25 years

So one of the two fans starting a grinding sound when on. Sounds like the bearings are going. Will find out about warranty if offered. And update.

Great fan. Really ugly light globe.

We really like these fans. They are quiet and the rotation is great. In our opinion though, the globe looks like left over stock from a cheap1980s ceiling light. Fortunately the fan comes with a blank plate so you don't have to use the light and it looks just fine as long as you don't install the light. With some luck, maybe we will find a globe we like that is compatible and then we can have the lights operational. One star deducted only because of the light globe being stuck in the past.

Rust within 3 months of installation

We bought this fan for our outdoor cover patio. Very quiet and decent air circulation. unfortunately the plate, covers and supporting bar are cover on rust 4 months later. Works find but will recommend apply a clear coat of sealant or paint. Hopefully motor won't get rust too.

Beautiful fans!

This is the fourth one we have bought for our lakehouse deck. They work great and look great, too. Highly recommend!

Poor Quality

We purchased 2 of these fans about 5 years ago. After about 2 years, one of the fan blades crumbled and broke off. I was surprised that the blades weren't constructed from a more durable material but instead some type of plastic. I contacted Minka Air service parts department and they told us that the blades are not under warranty. Unfortunately, you cannot replace them either, so our $900 fan is unusable. Like a previous review I read, our fans also rusted easily. They have never gotten wet, and we do not live near the beach, so it cannot be due to saltwater residue. We are very disappointed in the construction and quality of this fan.

There are a lot of mechanical parts to this so the first thing to go was the rotating feature, now 1 fan turns at a lesser rpm than the other

Love this fan!

We built a large screened in porch and I was looking for something with a wow factor. Everyone comments on this fan. It has three speeds. We rarely need to put it on high and the ceiling is very tall on the porch. One thought, I had to buy a longer pole. It looks might more elegant when it drops down further from the ceiling.

Fits the bill

Between the lighting dimmer and fan speeds, angles, and rotation option it meets my needs and more.The price was what I consider to be high for an outdoor fan but I would purchase it again. It allows me to be outside under conditions my good but conventional fan could not. Also love the look!

down rod for this fan

I purchased 3 of these fans and was disappointed that you did not get a 12" rod for these fans, you would think that for what these fans cost they would come with a voice of two different lengths - flush or a 12" rod.

unusual and utilitarian

I bought this for a client outdoor kitchen are. It is great. They live the way it rotates because it does not just pour air down on them. It's durable and easy to install.

Absolutely the best fan!!

Have these fans in my home and my camp, and we love them. The amount of air they distribute is unbelievable. They are worth every penny.

Only suggestion, have an electrician install. The fan is amazing, solid and most importantly helps keep flying insects away from our sitting area.!!!

Better than screening the porch.

I have a large covered front porch that needed screening for years so as to guard against the desert sun and evening mosquitoes. A friend in Florida recommended this particular ceiling fan as an alternative. Happily, This style light/fan works great! The fans actually cools me and my guests while blowing away all the pesky central Texas bugs. Now, I can enjoy loitering on my porch all-year, night or day, without feeling harassed or incarcerated. All my neighbors are jealous.

Great Outdoor Fan

We installed this fan on a screened in deck as the original fan we installed was not working as expected. Due to the large size of the deck, we really should have installed two fans when we built it. This fan provided a much needed option to increase air flow and it does a wonderful job. I do wish it was a little larger. I knew from the other reviews that the photography makes it appear larger than it is so be sure to study the dimensions. Otherwise, it's a great fan, works well, and we are very satisfied.
