Perfect Timing!

Perfect timing for this review! I have had my fan for a few weeks while awaiting my handyman to install. That happened yesterday! Everything about my initial search online until yesterday at installation was trouble-free. The fan arrived safely and in a timely manner. The box contained everything it was supposed to have....down to the smallest nut and bolt and screw, etc. On breaking down the box I discovered the "pink slip" in the plastic wrap! It was the instructions regarding a return if needed! How convenient is that? Actually, I can't wait to have a reason to order from Builder Elite again. And, I have been spreading the word about how seamless the whole process was. Oh! The free shipping was icing on the cake for me! So, I am humming along with the quiet humming of my new Hunter fan! (P.S. I run my fans year-round.) Thank you for the experience.

I purchased this Hunter Buiklder Elite fan as an updated replacement for our family room. Shipping was fast and the fan arrived without any issues. It was well pack and all intact upon opening the unit. Having installed many fans over the years I prepped everything before removing the existing Hunter fan which was in perfect working condition (that fan went to a neighbor who need a fan for a bonus room). Installation was easy. I did not opt for a remote nor light kit so it went up quick and effortlessly. The fan runs 24/7 (as the other one did only stopping for weekly cleaning) and is very quiet; you know it's working as you can feel the movement of air. It's a great updated addition for our home.

Cheap installation pieces

The fan itself is nice but the hardware that came with it is cheap. The screws stripped when we tried to drill them into the studs and then we couldn’t get them out. Had to buy an extractor set and then newer, stronger screws to install. Disappointing for a decently priced fan.

The Hunter fan I installed in 2014 worked well until recently at which time I had to push gently on the blades to get it to start turning. Also there was now a low hum that was tolerable only on the low speed. Until February of 2024 perfect working and very quiet. Having to replace it after seeing if a repair was feasible I bought another Hunter of same style and size. Less than pleased. It was received in good time. Factory sealed I installed it a couple of days later. Instructions were very clear. I offer that you may consider installing the blades first; before hanging the main unit. Only do that if you can work around the blades as you hang it and connect wiring. If you follow the directions install the first screw for each blade VERY loosely; enough to hold blade and let it droop. Too tight makes it hard to align the second screw; especially over your head. One reason for downgrading this to a 3/5 is that the finish was not up to Hunter standards. See image for worst one. Not really noticeable at a distance; is so up close. Was a toss up if I would return it. I went ahead with install and it will not start on its own at low speed. Will start on it own at other speeds only. Second reason for a 3/5 rating. It is very quite at medium and high speeds. I use it at medium as I like light air movement when asleep.

I absolutely love it. I've been looking to replace my Hunter fan (that is over 35 years old), and just needed to be updated. I figured if the Hunter fan that I had has lasted that long, I wanted to make sure to get another one.

Bought this for covered patio. Have always respected the Hunter brand and have owned many through the years. Upon unboxing was impressed by packing, simply instructions and overall fit/finish of the fan. This fan fills all the squares for a good fan, except...wait for it...moving air! After 2 hours of install, turned it on and thought it was stuck on low, until I pulled the chain and it moved even slower! Fan blades are installed about 7 1/2 feet above floor. While fan was on high, sitting directly beneath it could barely feel any air move. Talked to Hunter customer support--they were very helpful and prompt. After troubleshooting with no improvement, they sent a replacement capacitor. So another 2 hours of un-hanging, replacing capacitor, and rehanging, fan doesn't spin any faster or move air any better. Will move it to another location that will be more for looks than actual air movement and go in a different direction for our patio. Would NOT recommend if you need to move air.

Fan is great. I did manage to install myself. (2 1/2 hours) Had all of the correct parts, but I wish the downrod would have been 6 inches longer.

Ceiling fan does not come with light fixture.

The ceiling fan description on the video website showed the ceiling fan had the lighting fixture for the light bulbs. After finding out it didn't and that I had to purchase separate a lighting fixture I would not have purchased it and would have looked for another. This item had been shipped already when I found out. I called the Customer Service number and the Representative put me on hold to verify. She did say that yes it would come with the lighting fixture where I would just have to buy the bulbs. When I received it I left the box closed till an electrician came to install. Once installed the electrician told me I had to buy a lighting fixture for it. That is not what I was told I told him. Bottom line I was left with no choice, but to purchase one. Once delivered, I had to call the electrician back again to install. All of this would have been avoided if the web video or description had specified if light bulbs were needed, then a lighting fixture would be required. Also, when representative said it came with one the wrong information was given.

Expensive. Easy install

Install easy. Added light kit easy. Only issue is low speed is barely moving. High speed could be improved.

The fan installed as expected with no surprises. It performs as expected and has no wobbles or discernable operating noise. I am quite satisfied with the purchase.

This fan replaced an identical fan whose motor crumped. Hunter Douglas offers a lifetime warranty but you must have a sales receipt. I didn't.

Replaced an outdated fan with this one. Looks great in our sunroom. Easy to install even for a novice. Straightforward directions. Would highly recommend.

Easy to install. I bought a remote with it and it works great! The remote does not work the blade direction since this fan has a switch on it to switch the direction.

We installed the fan in our bedroom. When laying in bed and the house is completely quiet, you can hear a tick-tick-tick sound coming from it. It is a little annoying. Also, the face plate on the bottom that is easily visible, has their Hunter advertisement. It makes it look cheap. I would have returned it, if uninstalling wouldn’t cost me more money.

I bought two identical fans. They were installed by a licensed Electrician to be controlled by the same switch.

This is a great ceiling fan. I cannot use ceiling fans that have lights on them because I have seizures. This is just a really pretty fan. I am pretty picky.

Love these!! Perfect for our vaulted ceiling. I was worried about the pull chain being too visible but you don’t even pay attention to them. Great air movement too!

Easy to install and quiet when at work. Our room was not terribly big for the 52" was perfect size. Wayfair has great guidelines for choosing what size fan to buy to fit your room. Very helpful.

Beautiful ceiling fan! Runs quietly and looks really great in the room. The wood tone is really nice. I thought the room would look strange with a ceiling fan, but this fan is perfect!
