This is well made but if you want the Kohler recommended drain it's another 100 bucks. So I used just a generic drain, 2 inch. Well made looks great my only concern being the gigantic recess for the drain in the middle is enough to turn your ankle SMH , so your whole shower pan depends on that plastic cover and leaves me wondering how long it will hold up. Didn't really look close when I ordered it, wouldn't order it again, I don't like the design. However, I do like the look! Great quality, well packaged, had delivered and arrived in great shape, and no ugly drain hole! If you get it, you may want to check with Kohler about cover replacement for the drain, how much (they are not cheap IMO), and get an extra just in case.

Do not buy this whatever you do!!

DO NOT BUY THIS SHOWR BASIN WHATEVER YOU DO! I just built a house and didn’t read the reviews on this. The drain is horrible and doesn’t stay put and the basin so so slippery! I have fallen two times, one of which I just smashed my head on the tile wall because I slipped into the drain cover and it went flying! Do not buy this it should be removed from their product line or at the very least sold with a pebble bottom and more secure drain cover. I hate this product and I will never buy Kholer again! You would think they would have known about this once they are experts in this industry but it’s the worst design ever!

Drain cover is horrible!! Fall waiting to happen

We built a new home with a custom bath and installed this shower base to go with a beautiful tile shower. The drain cover was done so cheaply, it's always loose, and actually comes up if you step on it. This will flip up on someone and a fall will happen. There needs to be a replacement cover that is durable and stays in place, and is safer.

Nice looking; usability is horrible

It would be easy to pick this based on how it looks but after using it a few months I wish we had never installed this. And now that it is installed and the walls are tiled we're stuck with it. The drain cover is definitely the issue. The drain cover tends to clog easily, causing water to backup. If you don't stick it down then it will easily pop up if you step on the side - causing a hazard. Even having it off is a hazard because the drain underneath isn't level so you have to be careful with your footing. And other reviews are correct - it is very slippery. So that combined with the drain cover issue make this a real hazard for anyone using it. I've been looking online trying to find a resolution to using their original drain cover but haven't found a good solution yet. Definitely going to tell my plumber to avoid installing this in future homes.

Removable drain cover is a safety hazard

I wish I would of seen the reviews before buying this shower pan. As others have noted, the drain cover is a great concept but a major safety hazard. It does not stay in place and tips dangerously when you step on the edge. I am surprised there are reviews from three years ago and this still hasn’t been addressed in production. I intentionally bought only Kohler for our new master bathroom and now I am at a loss, like others, as to how best to make the shower safe.

Safety concerns

Installed in new home in 2019. It looks nice and was easy to install, but within 6 months the suction cups on the drain cover broke off. Hair gets trapped and the cover floats up causing a major trip hazard. Have already turned my ankle several times. Afraid I will fall. Other reviews about the drain cover design flaws are all issues as well. Deeply regret choosing this shower base.

Dangerous Shower Pan

After looking at the specific shower pan, we realized that we did NOT even get the drain cover from our builder. (new construction). We have fallen into the recessed drain space quite a few times and the pan is soo slick that we have lost our footing quite a few times. Now we have to tear it out on our dime. This is a shame from a company with your reputation.

Not happy. While delivery was efficient and size was what I wanted, that's where it stops. I have had this Kohler pan installed all of 2 weeks. The drain cover slides around. The grey stabilizers don't hold. I need to replace. Definitely a safety issue. The drain cover produces mold, so I'm thinking I will need to remove after every shower to dry. More than I care to do.

Delivery was stellar unfortunately the shower pan wad a little warped and had to rely on shims to make sure the grout didn't break from the potential movement. All worked out after showing our contractor the issue and discussed a fix for sucess.

Nice size, durable feel!

Extremely dangerous and a major safety hazard

This shower floor pan was installed in our new house in 55+ community, and when wet and soapy the entire floor is extremely slippery and we have fallen several times. Is there anything to improve the footing so that a more dangerous injury can be prevented? The shower is basically unusable in its current state.
