Problematic

I bought this grill a few years back and initially loved it. When the grill is running it’s pure perfection. The problem I have had is keeping it running. I had a problem with the hopper and customer service sent a new one so that was nice. There is a small shear pin that hooks the auger to the motor that I have replaced 3 times. While that doesn’t sound terrible it is because you have to disassemble most of the grill. Customer service said that all pellets need to be removed everytime you finish cooking to keep them from gaining moisture and getting hard. I have done this every time and that pin still won’t hold. Before you ask yes I put something a little stronger to alleviate this problem. Well I’m guessing this damaged the motor because after a couple months the auger won’t turn. I’m writing this review because spending $1200 on a grill was a big purchase for me and having to work on it constantly I don’t particularly like. Just a heads up.

Woodwind 36 was a great choice!

The Woodwind 36 came very well packaged and in great condition despite some outward appearance of rough handling on the packages. Inside was well protected. Assembly was easy, although instructure were wordless with pictures only. Just pay close atte tion to part shaded and the details of the diagram and you will be fine. I chose this model for the ability to flame grill if wanted. The first cook was using the Side Sear grill with some chicken breasts. Worked great and they were delicious. The first smoke was a brisket for some family in town and it turned out perfect. Tender and juicy, just like a pro. Great flavor and smoke ring and everyone wenst back for more. The next was pork butts for Carolina pulled pork. Again they turned out perfect. Great flavor, super tender, and easy to pull off with the app and the ability to set your time, smoke, and timer or desire internal temp. Very satisfied! Would highly recommend the Woodwind.

[Rewarded Review] Pure perfection with none of the work

And absolute game changer, I've been looking at this thing for the last 4 years and finally pulled the trigger.

Great Product and amazing initial results

I bought this pellet grill based on a friend's recommendation on the prior model and I haven't been disappointed! The packaging from BBQguys was done right and the product arrived with barely the cardboard scratched. Assembly took 1.5 hours as I wasn't in a hurry and did it alone. You could do it in 30 minutes with another person. Instructions were well-written and easy to follow, and I love that each step that required HW had a small zipper bag labeled with the appropriate step. Made finding HW easy. All HW was included which I've seen has been a problem based on other reviews.

The Most Important Cooking Item in the House

I bought mine over two years ago. In the beginning the Wi-Fi would drop but an upgrade about 6 months ago solved that. I use an average at least twice a week. The side kick allows the griddle or the grill box. All on one. I will never be without my Camp Chef.

Wifi and Bluetooth range isn't great.

Just know that the wifi range is very limited to around 10-15 feet from your router. Connection is flaky and causes my biggest dissatisfaction with this product. Mine has trouble connecting to Bluetooth and wifi is hit or miss even within range.

Great pellet grill!!

I bought this grill in March of 2020 and been cooking on it just about every weekend since I got it. It's my first experience with a pellet grill and I would not even consider going back to propane or charcoal grills. You have to spend more time prepping, but the flavor of the smoke and the herbs make all the difference in the world. My favorite is dry rub short ribs with corn on the cob.

I would buy this again.

Very happy with the product. One issue was that there was a small dent in the body of the grill and that caused a small paint chip in it.

Worth the price

Produces a great brisket. The app will no work if you get very far from the smoker. I have to goby the door to pickup the settings on the app. Better than my Traeger by far

Probably going to return this grill.

Grill can BARELY get to 450 after heating for an hour. If you open the lid to put food on, it drops DRAMATICCALY and struggles to regain heat, or never does before food is to temp, but still white (Chicken). I really wanted to love this, but if this is it, it has to go back and I will get another Traeger which the Camp-chef replaced.

It is definitely an upgrade.

This grill is quite an upgrade. It was not hard to put together and I was able to do most of it by myself with my 6 year old handing me bolts. The free hat was nice. The hardest part was getting it to update the firmware and work on wifi. That took an Ipad as my Android wouldn't do it. After that update, everything works perfectly. I do notice the smoke isn't strong, but that is pellet grills in general. Get a pellet tube and put it in the chamber for more smoke. The reason I bought this grill is the ease of cleanup. Pull a lever and the pot is clean. I have used it twice so far and it is working great.
