Oven does not work
Purchased in June 2023. In August 2024 the oven would not light. I’ve had a new gas line to the stove installed, new thermocouple installed, various gas valves replaced, and now the company says I need a new gas valve for the oven “clicker” and will only charge me $300! Already spent several hundred dollars on repairmen and parts I didn’t need. Of course this happens 3 months after warranty expired. Guess we will be microwaving our Thanksgiving dinner. I do not recommend this stove!
Amazing Customer Service
I originally purchased this gas range in 2021 and I haven’t had an issue with the performance. With time some of the paint did start to chip off but I figured I could just buy touch up paint at some point and fix it myself. I reached out directly to Unique Appliances regarding my issue and they kindly told me they will replace my gas range. I certainly didn’t expect for a replacement but I’m glad they took it upon themselves to make sure their customers are happy with their product.
The conversion from natural gas to propane didn’t work because one of the screws to the top plates got stripped. I have been contacting the company and so far no response. Wish I would have purchased another stove :(
Ready to sell everything and buy new appliances
I bought this appliance 1 1/2 years ago. One of the igniters stopped on the large burner around a month ago. After some diagnostics I determined the pulse igniter is defective. Unique told me it’s out of warranty, I need to purchase a new repair part. A few later I noticed a strong gas smell coming from the appliance. I had a licensed gas fitter inspect the installation. No issues with the installation. The leak is the internal to the range. I am not sure what to do now. I have contacted Unique. Meanwhile I use a hotplate and air fryer for cooking now because of potential safety issues.
Classic Retro not worth it
Its cute, but paint soon peeled like everyones else's. Now after a year the oven door doesn't close properly, one of the burners has to be lit with a match, broiler doesn't work. It is the paint that bothers me the most, as I bought this one based of of looks and now it doesn't even have that!
Oven is horrible
Bought this range in 2020 from propane dealer in my area , 1st range was totally defective and was swapped out. This stove top works great and is nice and pretty but oven does not get up to temp and will not hold a yellow flame. Have had propane techs look at and still no luck. Tried reaching out to unique cust service but no response yet. Very disappointed in this purchase as it was not cheap and would not recommend this product.
Do not buy
I bought this one year ago and it just is cheaply made. All of the paint came off of the knobs so I have to guess the temperatures. The stove doesn’t stay lit and the customer service is absolutely horrendous. I would never buy any unique appliance it is overpriced and is not good for long term use.
Oven is not working
This product should be removed from your site. The oven is not working. I spent almost a thousand dollars for fixing after more than a year bought it but it can be fixed.
There’s no timer on this oven and it takes a long time to get it started. You have to turn it and press it in and wait for the oven tonight I feel like I’m living in the 1950s.
Door is uneven, drawer on bottom is uneven. The knows across the front get suer hit from the oven running. The sides of the oven get quite warm. It is pretty. Home depot did NOTHING to indicate this stove WAS CURBSIDE DELIVERY!!! I am no longer supporting home depot. I go elsewhere.
This is the poorest quality appliance I've ever se
Let's start with the paint on the door is blistering and cracking. And all down the sides. The door doesn't close all the way and the heat is discoloring the plastic knobs. One burner doesn't ignite. The top broiler wont stay lit. So I took this pile of crap apart to see is I could fix it and found that there is no insulation around the oven no insulation in the door. That is a major fire hazard. There's no full frame around the glass to contain the heat. How did this oven even get past the appliance safety evaluation. What a piece of crap....
Bought this 4 years ago and hate it!
The oven does not have accurate temp. It tops out around 425 on a good day. The manufacturer said this is normal and there’s nothing to do about it. The backsplash retains stains worse than any stove I’ve had and the enamel is already cracking. The broiler stopped working a year ago. The oven flame sometimes takes three tries to ignite. I cannot cook a turkey in here or anything long and high temp. I got duped by the pretty looks. Don’t be like me……..
never worked
the oven part has never worked. complete waste of money and noone is able to help fix. had 3 repair men take a look and they can't do anything because they are not familiar with this type of oven. manufacturer never gets back to you and lowes is difficult to deal with
Oven door is defective.
This is my second Unique gas stove. My main interest was the "off the grid" option. The door design on my original stove was flawed. It would not close properly making the knobs so hot you couldn't handle them. I upgraded to this model hoping that problem was more an issue with the cheaper model. This model is worse. The door on this one has literally fallen off onto my foot twice.
Great looking retro stove.
Very nice quality in the way it was designed and constructed. Had it now for Seven months without any issues. I ordered a vintage O’keefe & Merritt top light, clock, timer with culinary chart and new chrome piece from Grapevine Sally. It fits on top perfectly, just had to drill a couple hop holes to secure it.
oven and broiler issues
Great stove. after 8 or 9 months the broiler will not light. The only way to keep a flame on the broiler is to hold the button in.
[Rewarded Review] Retro Oven
Love the color and convection oven. A little tricky to light the oven as its clicks like the top part so you need to make sure it lights. Lowest degree is 300…wish it went low to 200. The top burners are different sizes pros and cons with that.
The stove is built beautifully and works great! It was the best design decision for my small 10 by 10 kitchen. I also got the fridge and hood. Couldn't be happier with the look and function. I did have a profesional install both.
BUYER BEWARE
I bought this oven in 2021. Mine is gas stove and oven. The backsplash retains stains from food splats; the oven door hinges broke; there is cracking on the enamel around temperature dials; the oven registers at least 50 degrees lower; the oven ignitor for gas began taking longer than it should to light the flame; currently the flame ignites but will not hold the flame. I would not recommend this oven UNLESS you rarely cook or bake and want a vintage looking oven.
Really, I need to open the door and peek into the oven to see if it's lit? What century is this?
