Expensive, but since the coating on the old drain had worn off, it dressed up the sink faucet perfectly. The customer service reps were superb.

The impression of high quality is tainted by the fact that the stopper sits very loosely and crooked in the hole - just as any 20$ part out there. Very disappointing.

Perfect Replacement

Perfect Replacement. Instructions show that there is a special gasket undet the chrome flange but there isn't. Used plumbers putty. Ensure you use plumbers pipe dope on all threaded connections or they will leak.

Finish Quality issues

Finish Quality issues, I had to replace all three Grohe drain assemblies because of finish issues, these are not cheap so the cost and finish quality is a concern

Heavy gauge solid brass with excellent finish. Also the linkage on the pop up lever is more sophisticated than the crappy spring clip type most manufacturers insult the public with.

Grohe Pop-Up Drain Assembly 28 957

I had installed a medium-priced drain assembly five or six years ago, but I became frustrated recently with my inability to get the pop-up drain to provide the necessary clearance to drain the sink. Tried two aftermarket solutions. Nothing worked. Then bought the whole Grohe drain assembly, and it worked like a charm because it is threaded to allow you to modify the distance between the pin that raises and lowers the pop-up piece and the collar at the top of the drain. Brilliant design! No other mfg. seems to do that.
