Great Starter Smoker
This is a fantastic smoker for starters. It was my first smoker and I did everything on it! Brisket, pork butts, smoked tomahawks, jerky, peperoni, bacon and back bacon really is a great rookie smoker.
Excellent starter smoker
I originally gave this a 2 as my original purchase would not turn on. I did return it and grab another. It is an excellent starting smoker. Does heat a little higher than the thermostat. Easy to clean, but i recommend the stand and cover. If your an occasional smoker this is great.

this is our first smoker. the first one came damaged, so home depot allowed us to purchase an upgraded one at the same price because the original one we purchased was out of stock. so glad we got one with a display panel. it was easy to assemble. would certainly purchase again!

Great little smoker! The cabinet seals very well and holds temp beautifully. Doesn’t take much wood chip to create a lot of smoke, just make sure the chips are soaked first. Runs a little hot so adjust your temps a little lower. Otherwise, perfect for my needs.
[Rewarded Review] I would highly recommend this product!!!
We absolutely love it. I have a barrel style charcoal smoker that I’ve used for many years, but for when I don’t have time to babysit the temperature this smoker is great. I plug it in in the garage, set the temp , set the time and just throw in the wood chips throughout the smoking period. And with the meat thermometer... everything we’ve cooked has come out perfect!

I am a fairly experienced smoker and have had several different units. I purchased this because I had a party and my old smoker died. This seemed like a good deal (my first mistake) so I purchased. Set-up and operation is easy. Operation is actually 5 star as the digital options are easy to use HOWEVER, I have found 2 or 3 annoying issues.
One Summer! Broken!
After just one summer of use this smoker is broken. Didn't produce very much smoke, only goes to 275° temp, hard to clean, not well made. I took very good care of this smoker, I immediately cleaned after every use (5 times) and stored in storage building out of weather. After just one summer it does not work any longer. The smoking tray sits about 2 inches from the electric burner and doesn't produce enough smoke. Extremely difficult to clean after use. Paint started bubbling and peeling after only second use, called customer service about this and was told this was absolutely NORMAL! no need to be concerned. I can't imagine burning paint fumes is HEALTHY! for you. Very disgusted with this smoker. Definitely don't recommend this to anyone, I advise other's to pay a little more for a quality smoker, one that will at least last more than 5 uses.

good smoker for the money. Although chips last good, the chute for adding the chips needs to be a little more angled.

This smoker works very well. I would have given this product an excellent review, however, I did that in the past and 4 months later, the product completely stopped working. This product seems as if it will last MORE than 4 months. If the product continues to work without issues, this will get the deserved "excellent" rating.
I like it
First out of box I conditioned as recommended then prepared 3 racks of ribs followed 321 smoking directions with Cabelas competition pellets for smoking Awesome smoke Smoked with no need to add pellets for 3 hours. Baby back ribs did not fall off bone but ribs just pulled out. My best effort No flare ups. I am impressed.
Smoke, where's the smoke?
Not enough smoke produced with this smoker. If you want a smoker that smokes food, this might not be the best option. The distance between the wood chip tray and heating element is a design flaw. I'm not sure if there is a decent work around for the problem and haven't checked but out of the box, trying to get the smoker ready for a first smoke and noticed small amount of smoke at many different temps including highest setting. After I had "seasoned" the smoker, put a pork butt in and the result was my wife asking if this meat was smoked??? Sadly, the meal wasn't as yummy as we had become accustomed with the masterbuilt electric smoker.

Would not produce smoke out of the box. Had to form the element closer to the chip tray. After this minor adjustment the smoker worked perfectly. In reading reviews this appears to be a common issue with this smoker but it is easy to fix.
Great smoker with a small footprint.
This thing works like a charm. I've already smoked a turkey breast and a salmon filet, and they were delish. Next, two chickens for our Sunday supper. I haven't used the temperature probe yet, maybe never will. I go by sight. It is well insulated because I've had no problems using it when the outside temp was in the thirties and forties. Can't do that with a horizontal BBQ.
Thermometer is way off actual temps
Set temp to 225 degrees and getting readings of 250-260 from other thermometers. I've used this unit 5 times, and the meat kept cooking way too fast, so this last time I tested the internal temp with two other thermometers. Unit read 225, and the other two thermometers read over 250 within a couple degrees of each other. Not sure if normal, but you can see in first pic how the black lining of the unit started bubbling towards the top and smoke came billowing out when the door was opened. Second pic shows the front button cover coming off the unit exposing the electrical button underneath to the elements.
Great smoker
Great smoker. Had never owned a smoker before and was able to learn on the fly with this unit. Digital display makes life easy, assembly was a breeze, and been smoking some great food for a few weeks. The thermometer/probe is a great feature to eliminate unnecessary opening of the smoker and losing smoke/temp.

I’m fairly certain I got a lemon. It started with the Dyna-Glo logo being upside down on the door. I shrugged it off and decided it wasn’t a big enough deal to take back. Seasoning went alright, except it never reached its target temperature. First attempt at smoking and the same problem with temperature never getting to 225. The biggest issue, however, was the amount of smoke BILLOWING out the top right corner of the door. It was clearly not sealing at all. After a call to Dyna-Glo, they sent me a new door (they were very friendly at supportive). Unfortunately the new door did not fix the problem. I now have to call them back to replace the whole unit. If it goes well, I will update this post.
Great Smoker easy setup highly recommended
I ordered this on-line for store pickup came double boxed and great shape. Easy assembly and works great so far very satisfied. I followed the directions for setup and very easy to follow and understand. The temperature stays pretty steady and I love how to put the wood chips in smoking is steady and good.
Not bad, not great.
It's not terrible, but not top of the line either. The meat probe has never worked and customer service was not able to troubleshoot the issue. I have an external meat probe that I use instead of the one built into the unit.

Definitely doesn’t get the smoke flavor of a traditional smoker. Also the fact it can’t be used while raining is a huge drawback. Wish I didn’t get one with the digital thermometer. When smoking meat, it takes awhile so it may end up raining sometime so the fact they didn’t make it waterproof is rid

After assembling grill, plugged it in and it wouldn't start up. No lights would come on, no power. I guess the hardest part after the assembly was picking up and loading and then uploading. . The smoker was heavy and 2 females doing the work. We decided to get a replacement smoker so maybe just a glitch in the first one. Hopefully replacement will come on and work properly , if so I will then update review.
