Nothing in the description that say this is a stand alone lock. Nothing in the description says it has to be 6 1/2 away from the door knob. Otherwise I would not have made this purchase. On top of that I had to pay for return shipping.

Faulty product

This lock wasn't difficult to install or set up, but when I got to the point of attaching the levers, I discovered a problem. The set screw to attach the external lever was installed at the factory on the top of the shaft rather than the bottom of the shaft. This meant that the lever could not be attached. I contacted Kwikset, but they were not much help. I tried replying to them to get additional information, or get replacement parts, but their support website wouldn't work for me.

We got this at a nice clearance price. It has been fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. We feel very blessed to have gotten such a nice door handle and lock for such a nice price. It is easy to use and we are happy to have it. 

Very satisfied

Good looking, easy to install, easy to program and easy to use. Like the smart key option to program a backup key to match whatever key you want.

Battery changing

Price was right, installed easy.....but the best thing is that it is easy to change the battery. Our old one we had to take everything apart to change it.

Smart code Keyless entry door knob

I love how easy it was to install. The look , the quality , the mechanism works smoothly. My door is set to lock automatically which gives me security . The price point was good too. I recommend this brand and product.

The directions were hard to follow on a couple of steps but after reading them over and over finally accomplished the install. The lock works great.

The lock was defective from manufacturer. Called customer service to get a new one…never contacted me back. I took it apart and fixed it. HD customer service sucks!

Don’t like the preset nuts to tighten the door handle and would have preferred same direction handles.

Nice to look at but I have found this lock difficult to program. Am already looking to find a replacement.

Terrible design,

This will be returned. The set screws needed to mount the handle bent the Allen key provides. And the second set screw used a torx wrench. Impossible to install and I have done lots of electric door locks.

This lock set was easy to install,came with very clear instructions.The units function is very user friendly.It doe have a setting that allows for easy entry without a code.Also it allows for multiple codes ,temporary for a housekeeper or sitter,easy to remember codes for children who will never lose a key again.

Doesn’t have a long life

I’ve gone through two of these Kwikset door locks on the door from my garage to my house. The knobs last for a year before the gears start slipping and the tumblers don’t unlock completely every time. After a few years the internal mechanical features begin to fail and the latch doesn’t retract into the door completely making it difficult to open the door. I’m replacing it with a similar lock but from a different manufacturer this time.

Easy install. Works as advertised. You can enter from the outside by using a prest code or with a key. The key tumblers were easy to set & the key code was very simple. When opening the door from the inside you don't have to unlock anything, just turn the lever.

Great door look. I use it on my bedroom door, to prevent my kids from taking my clothes and messing with my makeup. Nothing like rushing to get out the door and looking for your things!

It fit perfectly on my door and was easy to install and program , and looks and works great !!!

Poor quality

The previous one broke. Bought another and it is missing the set screw to hold the handle (empty hole all the way through).

This looks and works well! Happy with the product!

easy installation to replace doorknob on exterior door. does not interfere with the deadbolt hole. I was able to program a few codes with no problem. it does beep if you hold onto the handle too long. overall I am happy with purchase and am considering purchasing another one. I would recommend.
