This cooler is amazing . I have a small workshop in my garage . I’m located in Las Vegas and is 110 most days. This cooler is keeping my garage at 80 ..I’m so pleased. I love it so much I bought a second one for my toucans enclosure it’s keeping it cool while keeping the humidity at a healthy level for him. His enclosure is 300 sqft inside that attaches to 500sqft outside .if I close the door I could sit out there ..it’s warmer of course with the door open but still a great improvement.
Well, a little bit better than a fan I guess. I don’t have any experience making the most of a swamp cooler but in my 2 car garage with the garage door and the side door open you don’t really feel cool in 90 degree heat unless you’re directly in front of it
Have a room about 200 sq ft and it barely cools it, not to mention 10 gal of water it holds is good for about 4-6 hours, order Thursday was to ship/delivery the same day, arrived Tuesday. I was not allowed to do a pickup. They swamp coolers do create a lot of moisture/condensation; Thus humidity. It is Ok for temporary use. weather outside 100Plus F ( different situation can have different effect)
[Rewarded Review] Great for cooling our barn
Really helps cool down our barn aisle on hot days. You can really feel the air cool down when you turn on the pump and use the evaporative cooling. Also nice that you can use it as a normal fan if you don’t need the added cooling. Not too loud and I like the option to hook up to a hose for continuous operation. The water tank on its own lasts maybe a little more over an hour with the fan on high so the continuous operation is nice if you want to run it for longer. We are in a dry climate in California so it works great for us.
Did not work straight out of the box!
After we got it home, and put it together, and filled it with water, the pump turned on just fine, but the fan never turned on. There is no customer support number. You can only reach them through e-mail. The manuel that came with it could not be less helpful. Their warranty does not cover labor or shipping! So we just packed it up and returned it to home depot, who refunded our money.
I’ve been pretty happy with the unit for the most part. When it’s around 100-105 I would say the unit blows cool air around 70 degrees making garage workouts much more enjoyable. If the fan isn’t directly on you it’s worthless and dose not cool down my 400sqft garage . The unit is rated for 950 .. the one issue I had with the unit was the hose inside was not working properly and wetting down the pad in the back of the unit . Easy fix . Other then that if your looking for an ac don’t buy this .
Almost great product
We got the larger Swamp Cooler for our greenhouse. It is way over the CFM than we needed, but with Oklahoma temps making the greenhouse so high, we needed something to help keep cool so wife can work during the day. It does a great job. In my opinion it is missing some key components. It does not have an auto pump shut off when water level gets low, nor is it friendly with Alexa, Google, etc. The auto shutoff is a key element that is missing. The rest would just be nice.
Works Very Well
I may be easily impressed because my old swamp cooler was nearly worthless, but this unit (MC37V) is a beast. I put this in my basement to augment the cool air an attic fan distributes through my whole house. Not only does it make a difference through the house, but in the part of the basement where it is (about 650 sq feet), it feels chilly when the temperature outside is in the high 90s!
REFURBISHED equipment sold as NEW - Warning!
We purchased and returned this today. When we opened it, it was clearly a used item (directional slats were out of place, a label had been scraped of the side with a sharp knife, the top looked used, etc.) and it had a label on the back saying that it was FACTORY REFURBISHED and was manufactured in 11/2021. This is not explained on the outside of the box, on the sign inside Home Depot, or on this page on the website. FYI, they checked at the store; the other unit they had was also refurbished.
We live in a very hot desert region where summer temps are consistently between 105-115 and at times reach into the low 120’s. We bought it for our garage and patio. Easy to work and definitely blows cool air with the water tank/pump. Love that it has 3 settings (low, medium, high) and that it has an oscillator!! Also love that the wheels can lock.
Poor design
The fan bolt and stud deteriorated after removing and cleaning the housing. The construction is very poor and this is not worth $ 400 which is highway robbery. The replacement of the filter is very difficult at the back and doesn’t close properly. The plastic is very cheaply made in China. The back panel warped after removing the filter. Not recommended! This is not worth $450 dollars since the plastic toys of my daughter is way tougher and stronger!
There isn't anything wrong with the quality of this product. It's a very powerful unit even on low setting. We live in an area where swamp coolers generally help in hot weather most of the time. We used this unit in our home with proper venting but it caused too much humidity. It provides cool air in the general area where it is placed. The 3,100 CM is very loud. For our semi-desert area in CA, I do not recommend indoors. I can see where it could cool a garage or shop or outdoor patio really well.
is this cooler refurbished and being sold as new?
I was excited to get this cooler. It works great. But the cooler inside was all scratched up on three sides right out if the box. It was packaged loisely in the large box woth only a plastic bag to protect it during shipment. It appears to have scracthed up before it was packaged. My son has one of these. A different model and muxh older. His is metal. This is all plastic
Float is not adjustable!
Unpacked the unit. Filled with water manually thru the front fill port.
An absolute must if you work in a garage in AZ
I have owned the Hessaire 3100 CFM evap cooler for over 3 years now. I can say if you live in the desert, these units are a must! Thermometer shows it blowing 59-60 degree F temps on 100 degree days. The fan is powerful, and the unit is fairly reliable. I have had to replace the motor that drives the swing function twice, as it is directly in the path of the moist air and rusts rapidly. Otherwise, no issues. You will need to use treatments to reduce buildups if you live in a hard water area.
Beat the Texas HEAT!🔥🔥🔥
Bought this last summer when the 100° days started being the norm. We reclaimed our patio. 20’x16’ area in a alcove blocked off from most breezes. Connected it directly to a facet via 12’ metal garden hose so i dont have to worry about filling the reservoir which only last an hour of run time on high. Glad i bought it and lookiing forward to using it again this summer.
Information
I will share with you as expert:
We purchased and used the unit in an indoor area when the A/C went out. It provides cooler air but at a price. It is a swamp cooler, and as swamp coolers do, it added a lot of humidity. Since our unit had no openable windows, and only one back door, the uncomfortably warm environment became worse due to the increased humidity. We switched from a swamp cooler to strictly a high volume fan and we did better. Probably better suited for an outdoor, or more open/exposed area than an enclosed indoor area.
Terrific portable cooler.
Cons: No low water shut off for the pump. Such a simple, inexpensive feature that should be on here. The water fill access is really small. When pouring water from a 5 gallon bucket, it gets messy. Should have been made bigger.
I bought 2 of these to cool a very large studio space. They dropped the temperature considerably over just using fans alone. We did use additional fans to move the humidity from the space to a space with outside access. They are a modest drone of noise, but you can still hear the radio over the hum. Easy to operate and they last about 4-5 hours between refilling the water. That is also easy with options to hook up a hose if you are outside or to fill from the front. The level indicator on the front makes it easy to determine how much water supply you have.
