This is a great garbage disposal. Install was easy plenty of power. Just remember it has a plunger release button for it to work.

Very useful addition to my kitchen

The installers almost had me send it back because we could not make it work after plugging it in. By luck we realized we had to have the black cover cap installed and then pressed in order for the disposal to work. There should be something in LARGE LETTERS in their manual about this ... Unbelievable ...

A new angle for safety with a disposer. You simply cannot put your hand in the disposal while it's running. In fact, you load it before turning it on, and that's a trick in itself.

Hard to find item with a built in switch so not having to drill through the granite counter to install one or use a wall switch. Easy for Hubby to install to replace my old Maytag one. Smaller receptacle than I am used to, but just need to use it more often. Does a good job! Recommend.

Moen GXB75C Control Activation 3/4 HP Garbage Disposal with Safer Controlled Grinding has a safety feature that I've not seen before. This disposal has a batch feed function that makes using it safer than the old-style continuous feed disposal. There is an area on the side of the stopper that controls the off/on switch of the disposal. If the stopper isn't in place in the disposal opening, it won't turn on. This protects hands and fingers, especially of children, or other loved ones. The stopper sits a little high so water can flow down into the unit. The capacity of the disposal is larger than a continuous feed but it must be fed each batch. Batch feeding does help reduce jams. The grinding action is quite powerful, courtesy of the 3/4 HP "high-speed vortex permanent magnet motor." It makes fast work of whatever waste is put down into the disposal and clears it out quickly. Although this is a powerful unit, I am leery of putting bones and such in it. No tempting fate here. The unit measures 7.5 x 7.5 x 15.6 inches, not any larger than other 3/4 HP disposals. It was easy to install (as reported by off-spring) utilizing the "universal Xpress mount system which fits most three-bolt mounting assemblies." He said it was "a simple twist-and-lock installation." It took him just a little more than an hour to install it and that included taking the old unit out. The only downside to this unit is it's not as quiet as I could hope. Even though there is Soundshield insulation, it simply makes noise. But the old unit made noise too. It's only a misdemeanor. We're happy with the new unit and the way it "disposes" of the garbage. And I like the batch feed safety feature.
