Has volume control. Easy to use.
I recommend this control to my customers because it has volume control, it is easy to use, and is built to last. The hot and cold are reversible also, which could simplify an installation where the pipes are swapped. The cartridge is also readily available should it ever need to be changed.
It has a solid brass housing, volume control. Simple to use, built to last, and easy to maintain.

For the last 15 years I have been purchasing only Moen products and never had any issues until recently. In April 2021 I bought Moen 3570 valve for my bathroom and less than 3 months the valve start dripping.
Good Quality
Had a licensed plumber to install. Works good.

This valve has been around for years and still unchanged. still a solid brass casting with machined surfaces which work very will with the rubber seals in the cartridge. The valve has worked flawlessly and does not leak. Made of brass it will continue to work without any issues for years to come.
My favorite shower control valve, simple to install, simple to replace cartridge, last a life time.

I am a new Wayfair customer and am so pleased with the helpful advice and selection that your company provides. As my bathroom is still being renovated it’s too early for a review of the shower/tub fixtures. They look beautiful but still need to be installed. Will continue the review at a later date. Keep up the good work!
Moen 3520 Moentrol
I have just read the reviews while looking up technical information for an upcoming project. I own a design /build company and our go-to shower valve is and has been the Moentrol 3520. I have been using this valve or a varient of it for 45 years. It is the valve I use in my own home. ( And I could use Kohler, Grohe or Delta but do not). Hands down the best valve on the market. Period. I would not purchase it with integral stops. Not necessary and if your plumbing contractor is very experienced he will understand why. Any plumbing valve not exercised for 4-6 years between maintenance repairs will not work anyway. The Moen repair cartridge is simple to replace as long as the hardness of your water is under control. For the difference in price and features I do not use nor recommend the Posi-temp valve. For the record my company is a kitchen/bath remodeling design/build company and we install between 50 and 75 of these valves on 40 to 60 projects a year.

A known good quality long lasting item, I use many of these a year. No issues, simple to change cartridge in 7 or 8 years This one is replacing a $700 Grohe which failed after 10 years and manufacturer will not honor the warranty

I have installed several different style shower valves. I consider the Moentrol to be the best shower valves available. The valve maintains a constant temperature even as the pressure changes on the incoming hot or cold water. If you are not familiar Moentrol valves they operate by pulling to turn on, and rotate to adjust temperature. This method is good for two reasons: You can adjust pressure by how far out the handle is pulled, and because when you are done you simply push the handle in to stop the water, the next time you use it you pull the handle out and it is already adjusted to the last temperature. This version of the valve has solder-on fittings. Be sure to remove the valve insert when soldering or you will damage it. I am very happy with my purchase and will buy this product again.
Like the features but not the finished look
So was very excited to order this entire shower system, close to $1200 in total. My plumber followed instructions and lined it up with rough-in wall, however the valve sticks out way further than the diverter valve does. Not the best look when used with the 90 degree shower system. Too late now to correct after all the tile work has been done. Also the trim extender piece between backplate and valve is really unappealing and looks awkward. It's a shame to pay this kind of money and end up with that kind of finish.
Bathroom Remodel
Just finished our bathroom remodel and this part works great.
Good product
Good valve. I have been using it for 6 months and have had no problem. Would buy it again.
[Rewarded Review] Works just as expected. Very nice Could not be better

This is a solid shower valve when a working cartridge is installed. I love the separate volume and temperature controls. The downside to my experience is that it came with a faulty cartridge. Fyi....The cartridge is brass and plastic.
Plastic cartridge not strong enough
Ordered this to go with a Moen T5502 Wynford Single Handle Moentrol Pressure Balanced Shower Trim with Rain Shower and Volume Control, and the handle on the volume control kept dropping. Plumber said the plastic cartridge in the valve was not strong enough for the handle on the volume control, which is quite heavy, so he replaced it with a solid brass cartridge for $183. The one that came with the valve has some brass in the center, but is mostly plastic. Disappointed in this product.
(This) plumber recommend
The Moentrol replacement cartridge is one of the least expensive and easiest to replace. The pressure balancing valve is separate from the volume control, so you need not replace both at the same time. IPS connections would be nice but I still prefer copper risers to the spout and head, so if I need to sweat one connection, I don't mind all 4. Integral stops a must. Really like this valve! Wish it was available off of the shelf.

I just remodeled my bathroom and replaced the existing Moen Positemp valve with the Moentrol on the advice of my plumber. He calls the Positemp a Suzuki and the Moentrol a Lexus. I don't know a lot about plumbing, but he does. All I know is that I like the new setup a lot better.
