The controller is a major problem.

The controller is a problem. After 1 year and changing it twice, it still does not work properly. We have to press the light button 3-5 to turn the light on or off. Each controller has had this issue. A controller should not be mounted in an electrical box when it needs to be accessed to change batteries. Only qualified electricians should be accessing outlet boxes. Repeated access will damage the switch box leading to a costly repair, and switch boxes shouldn't have to be accessed to change batteries. I will never buy another Hunter fan. I wish I didn't wait so long to install it so I could've returned it.

How to Recycle

My first Hunter fan lasted 30 years. Replaced it with the Overton. Love it. My neighbor helped me with the installation, he is now the proud owner of the older model.

Easy to install! Looks great in our three season room.

Beaten up box not sure if the fan will last

Unfortunately our fan box had the crap beaten out of it. The fan blade had some pencil writing on them, is this normal we wondered. We renteted a scaffold to put it up. It works but occasionally makes a weird clunking noise on start up. Its intermittent so we are gonna video it and send it in.

Fan stopped working at 18 months

We have this model Hunter fan on a covered porch. It stopped working eighteen months in. First the light wouldn't come on and then the fan wouldn't come on at all. We expected to get lots more life out of it, as it costs us $540 originally. We have always had success with Hunter, but this failure makes us question whether to buy Hunter again.

awesome ceiling fan

Good and Not so good

Love the looks of the fan. It's beautiful. Smooth, quiet and gorgeous. After one week, however, problems. Fifty percent of the tine, upon startup, there was a clink; fan shuttered; started to move slowly; then smoothed out as it got up yo speed. Crushed my heart and soul, as I love this fan. The good news is that I called Hunter Fan and reviewed with Ms. DaCosta. She reviewed with me in detail. She then sent a new fan, identical to mine. I received it a few days later. Excellent attitude and customer service. Installer is coming back Monday, 3/4/2024 to remove and replace. I am keeping my fingers crossed that there are no issues with the replacement fan.

Nice Fan

Just as described. Nice, quiet ceiling fan. Installation wasn't too difficult. Many of the fans that I looked at only had a remote control. I prefer the wall control, because you always know where it is.

Bad controller

The controller is garbage. This will be my last Hunter fan. The controller has to be mounted inside the switch box which is not ideal because you have to pull out the switch to replace the batteries. The light is hard to turn on/off, and the rotation direction will not stay set. The controller fail ruined a beautiful fan.

Very nice fan. Works well, moves lots of air. Remote that it comes with is only “in the wall”. Universal remote will not work.

Highly Recommend!

The fans are simple to install. They work quietly, provide a great breeze, and lights work great for our patio. Tech support is extremely helpful—we called several times with questions before purchasing and after install. With support, we were able to connect two fans to one switch.

We needed large fans for our three car garage. This fan came in the black color and we wanted black. We have not installed it yet. It should move air in the garage at 72 in? The fan arrived fast and not damaged.

Not going to lie, when you open the box to this, it can be a little intimidating. As someone who likes to DIY, I put on my big girl pants and opened the manual. It does take 2 people to accomplish this mission. I was replacing an existing fan on my patio, so all of the electrical was in place. It’s big and it’s awkward, but the instructions are well written and with some time and patients…. Maybe a cuss word or two, it can be done. The fan performance is amazing. I had a smaller outdoor fan on the patio and this one blows it away….Literally! Would definitely recommend. Here in Texas we appreciate a good fan 75% of the yr.
