This is second Hepburn fan with light we have purchased. Everyone always asks us where we purchased it. It is elegant and almost disappears in the room. Understated beauty. Provides great cooling and lighting.
We bought two for our open-space living area. We had to buy white downrods separately, as our ceilings are very tall. And the metal tone is a bit warmer, on the rose-gold side. But I like it, and the fans fit our space really well. They're understated and stylish, and quiet. They have a switch that hardwires into the wall, but the signal to the fan is wireless. All that took my husband a moment to navigate while installing, but everything has worked great for several months now.
*UPDATE* I’ve had this fan since February 2022 and have had to replace the receiver TWICE, one of those times at my own cost because the warrantee on that part is only one year. I would urge anyone considering this fan to look for something else. It really isn’t work the time you will spend on customer service.
Good looking but faulty parts! Not worth it.
I bought 2 of these fans 2 years ago.
Love this fan. Looks modern but not sterile. I prefer being able to swap the included bulb for a light with the temperature i want, cant do that with an integrated led. The wall switch works great - love the dimming feature for early mornings. Also the bracket for installation holds the motors weight while connecting electrical which my shoulders were grateful for, and the receiver system made connecting wires so much simpler than most ceiling fans with lights.
I love this fan! It looks perfect in my master bedroom and is very quiet. But, I didn't want to hire an electrician and it was somewhat difficult to install myself. I was replacing an old fan/light and there was an extra red wire from the ceiling and outlet box. Found out it just needed to be capped off. Also, the whole remote wall system is very difficult. No directions on how to program it. You need to hold down the up and down arrows for the light for 5 seconds first. The light should then work. Then hold down the up and down arrow for the fan for 5 seconds, this should active the fan. After several days of fan working fine, I couldn't get the fan to go on. Had to turn off electricity to room, take remote off wall, take battery out of back for approximately 5 seconds, then put battery back into control, turn on electricity, and then reprogram. What a hassels! Just hoping this doesn't happen again!
BEAUTIFUL BUT TOO LOUD!
This fan is exactly what I was looking for in our master bedroom. It is beautiful and classic! The noise from the motor is so loud we cannot sleep with the fan on high speed as it wakes us at night! We can tolerate it on low/ med but with Texas heat we need it on high most of the time. The nosie is not related to unstable motion as it does not move from the downrod which we have it hung close to the ceiling. It is from the motor in the fan. I would not purchase it again and will likely have to replace it in the near future. Very disappointed from a Hunter fan.
Motor blew up within 5 minutes!
Very disappointed in this fan. The reviews on this are fantastic. Maybe I'm one of the only unlucky ones. My boyfriend, who is an electrician just put this up. It looked great. Then five minutes later the motor blew up! Not for anything he did because he knows exactly what he's doing. Clearly a manufacturer defect. Sadly returning
Beautiful fan for any room. Even the kitchen!
I never would have considered a fan in the kitchen, but this fan is so chic it fits in with our light fixtures perfectly. Living in the south and cooking a lot, it gets HOT in the kitchen FAST. This fan has been one of the best decisions we've made. I wish I had thought more about grease on the white fan blades, but its easy enough to clean. I plan on sealing them with a clear coat to make them easier to wipe down.
Looks Decent, That's Where Pros End
I bought this fan from BBB, seduced by the fact that it is the only remotely OK looking fan in this price point. Installation was relatively simple, but the first one I was sent was a lemon and the fan function (spinning) stopped working due to a mechanical failure (not electrical hookup problem) after just 2 nights of use. I was sent a replacement. The replacement had poor machining and when the fan spins you can see a wobble in the center piece where the blades attach, despite being adjusted. THEN, just 6 months after installation of the replacement, the flickering started. The light flickers almost continuously when on now. We at first thought it was maybe some kind of interference with the wireless signaling, but from reading other reviews we now believe this is just a faulty product. We ask ourselves: why bother asking Hunter for a replacement at this point? Maybe we will try to rewire it? I don't know at this point.
I really like the look of this fan, but that...
I really like the look of this fan, but that is all I can say for it. It was extremely difficult to install due to the wiring. I absolutely could not get the wiring to work with the included wall-mounted remote, so I hard wired the fan and light to work with our existing switches. However, since this is a three speed fan with no manual switch to adjust speed, I had to install a three-speed wall switch to be able to adjust it, costing me another $20. There may have been other solutions to this problem, but I absolutely wasn't going to call an electrician for this. Also, I'm not pleased with the fan speeds. High is too much speed, but the medium setting is not quite enough. The light is also quite dim, as it only requires one light bulb. Learn from my mistakes, heed the other reviews, and choose a different fan, especially for the price.
Installation is a nightmare!
I just finished installing this fan. It works great and looks nice, but was AWFUL to install. Directions are not linear. There is way to much back and forth. Wire compartments are cramped and difficult to work with. The blade attachment process was unnecessarily difficult. Finally, the wall switch cover/faceplate has the “Hunter” logo on the front. It looks ridiculous. If you did not see in the description, the wall switch requires batteries as well, so that will be fun to change in the dark. If you are looking only for appearance, this fan is great. The installation and maintenance are cumbersome.
I hate this fan
I am so disappointed in this fan. I eyed it for months while planning my renovation. Thought it was so beautiful and would be perfect for my classic older home. I made the mistake of buying three white and gold fans. To start, I find the gold a very light champagne gold that is not as vibrant as the photos but thought still lovely and we installed. We had quite a time wiring it and then discovered the "remote" is the mounted control. Not a big deal as we have modern touches in the home. But the remote is so terrible. Then, we can't find the buttons in the dark - you need a light to find the light! Wouldn't it have made sense to illuminate the controls from within? Once we find the buttons, they don't work. We are tech savvy folks and cannot figure out how the remote truly works. We have mastered our own way of using it but are fairly certain it's not the way it was intended. Next, the fan levels and light settings are extremes. The highs too high, the next step down a huge leap, it makes no sense. Finally, we have the light and fan to the speed we want, and the light randomly turns off and then back on again, at no set interval. Should we check all the wiring and reinstall? We shouldn't have to but we do and find nothing at all out of line. It's infuriating. I dread walking into the room it's installed and dealing with it. And worse, we still have two more in their boxes and I can't bring myself to install them. Terrible buy!
Love the style of this fan. Purchased one for my living room and one for the hearth room. They are different that other typical fans. Definitely have more style to them. Our electrician was very uncertain about these when I showed him and once they were hung he even really liked them. He said he hadn’t seen a fan like this before. I gave them 4 stars because the wood grain side is a little lighter than the pictures show but luckily they still look great. I bought the brushed brass.
5 Stars
Ceiling fans have come a long way! I purchased this for my preteen daughter's room and it fits perfectly-it's sleek and quiet. The brushed gold adds just the right pop against the white ceiling. Installation was on the more complicated side. My husband is very handy and this required a good amount of time to put up and the wall panel switch needs to be done carefully. Totally worth it though-LOVE IT! Don't hesitate to purchase!
I so badly want to love these! Love the look of them but have annoying issues with the functioning. We’ve had 2 electricians come out to try to figure it out. Our house is a brand new build. These will often flicker on and off every 3 minutes. We put 2 in in 2 different rooms. In one room, you have to hold down the light button for 3 seconds before it will respond. Both lights flicker every 3 minutes sometimes. We contacted customer support and they sent 2 new fans so we will see if we can get them working.
Disappointment
Bought this fan to update existing installed Hunter fans with wall unit controls and associated wiring. It turns out that the wall control with this fan is just a remote placed in the wall and would not take advantage of the wiring of the existing fans. Would not have bought the Hepburn model if I knew the controls were not consistent with our existing wiring. Only chose the Hepburn fan for the wall control. Returned the Hepburn fan and will keep looking for one we really like.
Its a nice fan and looks good, very quiet and easy to assemble, the remote is also easy to use. The issue is with the light that this produces, it is not very bright at all. Package came with a 60W and I have switched bulbs now 3 times to try and brighten the room, last one was a 75W and it is still dim even though it is on the highest setting. Next bulb I am trying is a 100W daylight, hope that does the trick. The issue I believe is with the frosted light cover, it diffuses a good amount of light. Not able to return this item now either as it is already assembled - oh well.
Coolest fan ever! It took forever for me to find a gold fan that would match my gold painting and my gold situation in my new house. I hate to say it but I’m pretty picky. I was super surprised that Hunter makes this one because it’s so modern. It has several different fan speeds and a dimmer light switch with integrated fan control so you have no cords hanging down from the fan, which I love because it’s nice and neat looking. Also, I have this fan in a fairly large room and it doesn’t look small it looks just right. I have no regrets with purchasing this fan.
5 Stars
I love to decorate, and loathe ceiling fans as they usually stand out as an odd piece in most rooms. However, our first floor definitely needed circulation of air. Thus, led me to my ceiling fan search. I am so happy I found this fan! Sleek, and does not hang bulky to ruin the look of the room. Blades are natural color, or white. I have the natural color facing down as it blends in well against white cabinetry, and light walls. Importantly, this fan does the job of circulating the air when needed.
