This is the first time I ever used a coffee machine and it was very simple and easy to understand as a beginner! I love the user friendly, modern, and sleek design of this espresso machine and it’s ability to make high quality espresso shots at home. The milk frother is my favorite part as it makes perfectly steamed and foamy milk to pour on top. I’m going to have a lot of fun creating different drinks and learning latte art!

this machine is great. i haven’t figured out how to perfectly dial it in since i’ve only used it a couple times, but so far it’s amazing. it pulls great shots and i really like the americano preset! the only thing is the steaming wand is not very powerful, so it did take a couple extra seconds to get the temperature i wanted. i really like how big the portafillter is and the tamper is amazing. i would definitely recommend!!

I am someone who absolutely loves coffee. I have been making Lattes daily since 2020 and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. In fact, I am always looking for the next best espresso machine to craft the perfect latte. Now comes along the Philips Barista Brew, an all in one espresso machine that does produce good quality espresso. However, that is not to say this is a machine without it's flaws which I will address. But first, let's start off with the positives about the machine.

My review comes from someone who has never used an Espresso machine before but enjoys well-made coffee drinks. The Philips Barista Brew Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine with Milk Frother offers a semi-automatic design with many great features. Although it took some time to get used to how to use everything, I believe this is a great product for all skill levels.

I will preface this review by saying this is my first “real” espresso machine. By that I mean, I’ve owned fully automatic espresso machines before but not one that is this manual. I wanted this one because there is a bit of romance in tamping the grounds and locking in the portafilter yourself. I was ready to challenge myself a bit and bring out my inner barista.

To much coffee around the machine

Coffee is excellent; the machine is very easy to use, but the grinder is horrible. Coffee particles are around the machine after every grind! Even with the plastic insert provided, I think Philips missed the design big time. I am thinking of returning a machine.

[Rewarded Review] Instructions Unclear Among Other Things

Just as disclaimer, I have never owned an espresso machine as complex as this one. As someone who is new to the process, this was very intimidating. At the end of the day, I was able to figure it out and understand the process more thoroughly, but it took a lot of trial and error and patience to get me there. The instructions were not clear. It took a while to realize that the figures the instructions were referring to were at the end of the booklet, passed the alternate languages versions, so for the longest time, I thought the instructions were incomplete. Luckily I was able to find instructional videos on YouTube to help guide me. As for the machine itself, the grinder has 15 settings, but even the finest setting does not get the grounds fine enough for espresso. I had to get store bought espresso that was already ground to make a drink that was not bitter. The steam wand works but it stops after a certain amount of time, which was not enough time to get milk to the appropriate temperature for a latte. Because of this, I had to run it twice.

I absolutely love my Philips Home Living Semi Auto Coffee Machine! It’s super easy to use, even for someone like me who isn’t a coffee expert. The espresso it makes is rich and delicious, and I love how I can just press a button for a perfect Americano. The milk frother is great for making lattes, and the machine keeps my beans super fresh. Plus, it looks really nice on my counter - like legit looks like a high-end gorgeous machine! Gifted by philips home living, this coffee machine has definitely made my mornings so much better :)

Simply the best

This coffee machine looks very intimidating when you first pull it out of the box but it’s very easy to use. And the coffee is amazing! So many options but even for the basic coffee drinker like myself, it’s worth it. I will never go back to my single serve coffee maker again.

What a fantastic coffee machine. As a coffee enthusiast I love the barista experience with a bit of guidance thanks to the intuitive guidance preprogrammed buttons. The coffee machine came in an outstanding shape and well packaged. PHILIPS Barista Brew Semi Automatic Espresso Machine has a modern design and I like that the water tank is behind it and not visible. Metal housing and all the exterior features are easy to clean and the quality is great and durable. You can make Americano coffee with integrated hot water outlet, or choose a single or double espresso. The premium calibrated tamper and countertop-safe tamping system is a great addition to this coffee machine and takes the whole experience to the next level. The tamper tool is a bit heavy so make sure to put it away from your children. The 250gr bean container has a lid with a freshness seal so it will always preserve the aroma of your coffee beans. 450ml stainless steel milk jug and powerful steam wand are perfect for all latte and cappuccino lovers. The steam wand heats up in seconds and is easy to use. The entire setup process takes about 30 minutes and the instructions guide booklet is easy to follow. It has all the necessary steps to set up the coffee machine and choose the right grinder size (superfine to coarse). The pressure display helps you to know if you did everything right and keep in mind that your standard coffee mugs will be too tall for this machine. I love the sounds and the process of coffee grinding, tampering, and waiting for the perfect cup of coffee. Also, it is quite loud :) but overall this coffee machine lives up to the price.
