Perfect fit! The toilet handle was exactly the one needed. After no success searching online and asking around, I consulted AS. Their customer service went above and beyond to identify the right, OEM part.

Just the right fit

It was the exact replacement part for the toilet that I have. I did have to tighten the hex nut a couple times, but it is better than over-tightening it.

Made it work

It is hard to determine what particular model an American Standard toilet is, and figure out the right part number. I thought I had the right part, but it wasn't. It fit the hole, but the plastic arm went off in the wrong direction. By heating it with a hot air gun, I was able to bend it gently in the right direction for my toilet and it is working.

American standard toilet flush lever

Unfortunately these are made of plastic and will break eventually, but seems like that is all that is available to fit my toilet. Good news is this fits perfectly and is easy to replace. It generally lasts at least 4 or five years.

Broke after 1 year 10 months

I don't think I flush my toilet aggressively, but after just a year and ten months the arm on the inside of the tank snapped off. Going to try finding a metal replacement instead.

The part of this you unscrew is too small to actually be taken off the arm piece that goes into the toilet. Total piece of crap... do not buy. Have been thinking maybe I can break that screw piece off and use the old one to screw and tighten but if it does not work i am out $30
