Disappointing

I really wanted to love this but it cooks too fast. I tried a thawed chuck roast on low, was cooked in 3 hours. Left for work at 7, turned the crock pot on for 3 hours on low, threw in a frozen rump roast and it was overdone by the time I got home at 4:30. Tonight I tried using the heat to temp feature. I programed it to 130° came back and checked on my chuck roast 2 hours later, figured I forgot to set it so set it again to 130° and returned 2 hours later to it off and my roast overdone again. So disappointing.

Smells like plastic & sleeve is HOT

The crock in itself is stunning . I love the feature of temp control etc. The ceramic insert does not fit inside the sleeve . It is wobbly . A few minutes after I turned it on it smelled horribly of plastic and the base of the unit was INCREDIBLY hot . I do not feel safe cooking food in it if plastic is leaking into our food and afraid it will catch fire with the base being so incredibly hot . I watched a bunch of YouTube videos to see if I was doing something wrong . This was just using the standard tried and true method of cooking on low like the old school crockpot . I had one I used for years from this company and never had any issues such a bummer .

This HAS to be my favorite piece of equipment in my kitchen! It makes cooking a breeze. I am so grateful that my Hubby got this for me.

Works great. We use the sous vide for frozen foods that were cooked by us and then frozen so it’s no big deal but the water doesn’t circulate so you may have a hot or cold spot while using that function.

Sigh

We use this to pasteurize milk from our cow. My sister has the same one or a very similar one by Crockpot in black that works beautifully, but the one I received has pestered us with a “prob” error message since the 2nd time we’ve used it. I was really excited about the color. We’ve only used it about 10 times but because we didn’t use it often within the return time frame due to the cow being pregnant, we are stuck with this fussy thing that has to be restarted often to even get it to function. The idea of being able to set it %26 forget it was a beautiful one but didn’t workout %26 we’re left feeling like we wasted our money.

Pot wobbles in base

Like this crockpot but do NOT love that the pot does not sit level in the base

Smoke & burning smell

Do not buy! Wanted to love it but smelled like burning plastic within 5 minutes of first use. Verified no remaining plastic or anything that would cause that. Had to throw out everything I started cooking. I tested it again by filling with water to see if it still smelled hazardous and sure enough it did. I bought thinking crockpot was a tried & true trust brand, unique color & new features. The ceramic insert also had inconsistencies. It’s shallow & wider than my other 6 quart slow cooker which I wasn’t expecting, especially for sous vide. Lid is plastic which was not expected, I try to avoid plastic materials while cooking so this is not a good fit for what I was hoping for

Irrelevant Reviews Make Difficulty for Real Customers

Not happy, it took almost twice as long as other crocks to get a roast up to temp. But, not sure if just my specific one has an issue or defect - or if this is standard with the model. Don't know. Anyway, how to find the real reviews that were NOT bought (collected as part of a promotion)? This is a mess! If so many of these reviews are going to be allowed, there needs to be a way to filter them out.

Great upgrade to my other crockpot

Shipped in perfect condition. We have been looking at getting a sous vide for a while and I need to upgrade my crock pot. So this was a perfect combo. Tried it the first night with steak. Perfect results!!!

Defective at best

Received this as a birthday gift in January to replace an older, smaller crock-pot that I have had for nearly 20 years. I have used it regularly since then, until this week. After using it to cook some pork, I unplugged it so that it could cool before being cleaned. When I returned to clean it, there was a puddle of juice on the counter. Apparently, the crock had developed a small crack on its bottom. It had never been dropped or handled inappropriately. So disappointed in the quality of this product. There is no excuse for it to fail so soon.

Replacement slow cooker

I had my istir crockpot for over a decade, stoneware broke. I bought this sous vide since it sounded interesting. Buy this now and some baby carrots to sous vide with pork tenderloin in a sous vide bag with lemon, garlic, rosemary, olive salt pepper Bussin it’s super good buy it asap, oat is an off white but I store mine in cabinets

I am a Sous Vide snob now!

This Crock Pot is fantastic! It has been so versatile, and I have been using non stop. The Sous Vide function leaves chicken and steak so moist and juicy. Just sear it on a pan right before serving, and it is chef's kiss. The little pamphlet also has great ideas for quick and easy dinners. TRY IT FOR YOURSELF.

Not worth the money

I should have listened to the nine promo reviews. It took almost 15hrs to cook a roast. It's definitely going back. Not worth the money. My cheaper one got the task done in 6hrs

Well, if you can’t tell this crockpot has had quite a bit of use before I reviewed it. It’s quite amazing actually. The temperature gauge (not shown in the photo) is a literally game-changer. Usually it’s my mom with the great crockpots… but she’s asking to borrow mine!

We received this sous vide crockpot as a gift and have absolutely loved it. We have only used the crock pot and not the sous vide yet. I believe these cost around $120 at Target. They perform as to be expected.
