Known problem w/ thermocoupler

This stove is cute but not functional. It ignites with something called a thermocoupler. You have to hold the ignition on forever to get it to light and then it does not stay lit. It is total garbage. Mine has never worked properly. Home Depot should not sell this product because it is a total hunk of junk. I'm super annoyed because I designed my kitchen around its compact size and now I may be completely screwed if I have to find a new range to replace it.

Great 24" stove

My Unique stove is great. It's been in my small kitchen for the past 3 years, has worked well, and is easy to care for. It also looks so nice. I've received many compliments on its color and style.

Well, I just gave my review for the refrigerator and now time for my gas range review. I purchased the two items together. Not a full year and not even into the fourth month of having it, my range oven didn't work well. Eventually, it stopped working. I contacted the warranty which is through Unique because it wasn't a full year yet. I did get the extended warranty also, but you can't use it until after the first year of purchase. Unique gave me nothing but grief! I called and they didn't help. I sent multiple emails. They wrote back sending me links to try to fix it myself! I then got angry and told them it was their place to fix it! Every time I wrote to them, they would tell me they couldn't find anyone in my area to fix it! Then told me if I could find someone myself to fix it, to send all their information and they will take care of the cost! Listen, I am a single woman and work full time. I didn't have time for all of this! This was their job! I am now into the month that I purchased the range, and they still haven't done a thing! I even asked to just replace it! Nothing!! They could care less about me. I haven't been able to use my oven for months. It's shameful and bad business! I love the retro look and was so excited. But Unique doesn't stand by their product and doesn't care about their customers. Very shameful.

Gas leaks and customer service rude/unconcerned

Bought this stove because it is cute and small and goes great with the vibe in my kitchen. However, the oven ignition is faulty. I have to ignite it 3x before the flame holds. The gas continues to flow if the flame goes out. So naturally i'm quite concerned and call Unique's service center. Wait on hold for 10 mins then the guy who answers is totally rude and unhelpful, and refuses to give me contact info for a service tech and then hangs up on me. Next guy less rude, third guy was helpful.

Do not buy

I bought this stove in August and I've had issues with l the oven lighting. I've called Homedepot and the unique company numerous times and I've had no success. Unique puts you through a 3rd party to communicate. They actually told me to find someone to fix it. Its under warranty until August. I called this company numerous times and I get the runaround every time telling me they will take care of it and they never get back to me. Now I have no working oven.

I have the fridge that matches this stove. I got it about a year ago %26 absolutely love it...the color is so retro along with the styling/look. My sister bought me the matching stove...it is gorgeous! I haven't hooked it up yet because I am in the middle of a remodel but it is going to look amazing in my new kitchen.

This is a nice solid, sturdy stove! The grills on the range top are flattened, so theyre wider and keep the pans from wobbling, and they cover the entire surface so its easy to move pans around. I like the black top it looks good, and I dont feel the need to clean it every single day, beyond scooping up crumbs.

Total Garbage

I have owned one for 3 years and have had to replace the thermocouple assembly twice now 1st time under warranty luckily. Because the last one they,(CabinDepot) sent me cost $146.00 and the thermocouple was bad upon delivery!

Waste of money

I had a similar experience to the other 1-star review. The oven stopped holding the flame about 2 weeks after the warranty expired. The appliance repair person couldn't figure out how to find the right part to replace what wasn't working, because it wasn't listed on the Unique website, and the parts department wouldn't answer the phone. The oven is cute but doesn't work, and it's impossible to get it fixed.

Oven Paint will bubble, crack and peel.

Do not buy this product. The paint on the oven can't handle the heat stress and will bubble and peel off. Bare metal is now rusting and we've had it about a year. Absolute disaster purchase. And of course, we purchased the full "matchy matchy" set. Beyond disappointed.

Looks are deceiving

Bought stove for off-grid set up. Came set for LP gas as advertised. Propane company verified all orifices were LP as per enclosed docs. Oven would not stay lit, pilot pulling off TC, flame wrapped deflector. We'rat 7000 feet elevation. Derated orifice. Only one side of burner lit, finally got both side to light, but next day won't stay lit. Main burner is scary. Sometimes acts normal, other times flames pull and pulse, or when you turn off it shoots flames out or up. Waiting warranty respose.

Looks great but thats about it.

At first we loved the look of this stove set (we also bought the fridge and hood). However, we’ve experienced the same issues as others - it takes several times for the broiler and over to catch, and now we can’t get the oven to stay lit at all. The stove top works fine so we know its not the propane pressure. I’ll be reaching out to see if the warantee will be honered as we’re still within a year of purchase. Pretty bummed as it looks great but doesnt function well.

Got this to replace the stove in our little guest cottage. I love the retro look which fits the space nicely. It does stick out a bit but that's not a big deal as this is a casual space. However I would check the depth of your counters if you want it to be totally flush. I think this kitchen is just smaller scaled.

Disappointed (also, a potentially dangerous flaw)

We loved the look of this oven and the compact size, but a year and a half on we have not had a great experience. The oven routinely fails to stay lit, and none of the suggestions offered by the manufacturer have helped. We basically have never used the convection fan for fear of blowing out the flame one it finally does catch and hold. The front high-powered burner boils water very quickly, but only reliably ignites when the other elements are lit first. The finish on the back venting ridge develops a strange oxidized film that doesn't seem to scrub off. We're now looking to get rid of this stove, and indeed this experience has finally convinced us to make the transition to induction technology. I only wish it hadn't cost us $1700 and over a year of frustration and disappointment to be pushed in that direction. So, in short: a beautiful piece of retro design, but in this case? you most certainly do not get what you pay for.

Adorable but can’t keep oven lit

It’s an adorable little oven and looks perfect in our renovated cabin. But, the oven is very hard to light and it doesn’t stay lit. We don’t do a lot of cooking at the cabin, sometimes just a frozen pizza, etc, and when we think the oven is preheating we find it had turned off and nothing is hot. It takes about three times of doing this for it to finally stay lit. We’ve only had it for a few weeks and use it on weekends and this has been going on since the first day.

I’m really sad about my black retro range. When I received it it looked great. But then we couldn’t light our oven without trying to put it 10 times. And after 6 months couldn’t light the oven at all! Had to call unique customer service only to tell us they will send us a new piece and they will pay for the service because it happens all the time. I’m glad the issue was resolve but if they know this part is faulted they should replace it already and not asked the customer to do it. Also it really heat too much. The oven when set to a certain temperature is always much higher than what it should be so have to be really careful when baking stuff. Same for the top the smallest burner is the one onuse when I need to simmer things but even then seems pretty high for the smallest btu burner. And don’t even think about using the warmer drawer at bottom cause it still cook like the oven on top…The range is extremely hard to clean too and already shows marks and bubbly pealing where the unique retro sign is. It just seems cheaply made. My boyfriend said it’s the worst thing we ever bought and as much as I like how it looks I must agree the quality is not there for a 1600$ range. I do not recommend this range after a year of using it and taking well care of and cleaning it evryday it already look so used and cheap.

Quality Stove!

The first thing we noticed was the quality of the stove. It was fantastic! The picture definitely does not do it justice. It looks like a very expensive stove. The burners are all fantastic and the oven is bang on with the temperature. I have absolutely no reservations about recommending this oven for anyone who wants one. Best decision we've made in a long time. Well worth it.

Function follows form

Looks cute but not a great range. Oven always goes out on first lighting. On the second and so forth attempts oven won’t light quickky. House smells of gas until oven finally stays lit. Flame adjustment for main cooktop burner is so poor that we generally use a secondary burner. Do not recommend. It’s only 18 months old and we’re shopping for a replacement. ‘Nuf said

Finally an affordable vintage model!

Purchased 3 months ago & have not a single regret. Summer mint color is perfectly authentic, price is best in the marketplace by A LOT. The drawer interior gets very hot. Pans in drawer will be hot, use a mitt! One or 2 times we thought oven was off so I suggest you check for blue flames. (I wish it made a ticking noise so we knew it was still on.) Love the black top and level grates which provides a stable base & even heat for a 20" cast iron grill/griddle by Lodge.
