Not A Happy Camper
I've had this range for about 6 months and I have to say that I am quite disappointed. The Consumer guide gave it an excellent rating but I have had nothing but problems. I thought it was just me needing to get used to a new stove, but this is not normal!!
[Rewarded Review] LG 6.3 Cu. Ft. Smart Slide-In Electric range/oven
This was an open box deal, it was a floor display model, so never been used. Great product, and works better than expected! There are some reviews complaining about the knobs being easy to turn on allowing the burners to get hot unintentionally, however, they fail to mention there is a touch screen with an option to lock the control knobs to prevent this from happening. Reading is fundamental, and those who complained did not pay attention to the instructions in the owner's manual! No issues if you can follow basic directions! The app is great too! It even let me know when the oven needed to be cleaned. Spray some water, set it to easy clean, and hit start. Then just wipe out the oven when it cools down. Too easy!
The worst investment to my house
The worst investment. First, my elderly parents almost died because knobs easy to turn on and my dad walk by and turn on the burner with out even knowing, something were standing plastic on top of the stove. Got melted and house were full of smoke and they didn’t even notice. They were lucky I came home before terrible happened. Keep the stove locked since than.
Garbage!
Garbage! Don't even consider this one! We bought this beautiful range 1 year ago for our custom built home. Even with careful cleaning, the glasstop quickly became scratched and stained. The burners take forever to heat up and don't respond well to adjustments in temperature while cooking. The front burner is STUCK on HIGH - unusable! It took us 8 months to figure out that we weren't able to use the oven at all because it has to be operated through the ThinQ app. Once that was figured out, we then discovered that there were way too many "tricks" to get the oven to operate properly. After using the oven TWICE, it NO longer cooks anything at all.
[Rewarded Review] Disappointed
Only 3 stars and that disappoints me! It’s a gorgeous oven/range! Beautiful to look at in my kitchen! Unfortunately, there are some pretty significant design flaws! It’s almost as if this range was designed to be controlled by your phone ONLY! The manual controls actually make cooking cumbersome! The knobs for the stovetop need to have some sort of child safety mechanism to keep them from turning! I’ve accidentally turned them on by bumping into them and my two yr old loves to touch EVERYTHING I do! So it’s not child friendly! Setting the oven temp is a little difficult at times! The temp controls are extremely touchy! A+ for aesthetics! C- for controls! C for actual performance only Bc I’m still learning how this oven cooks compared to my last one! Not all ovens cook the same!
Dangerous
This is the absolute worst appliance you could ever buy! The first week of owning it. our kitchen caught fire two times. If you do not lock the stove, (which we were not aware that there was a lock function) just walking passed the knobs turns the burners on! First, we had purchased a mat to protect the surface, and our granddaughter bumped into the stove, turning burners on catching the mat on fire and practically ruining the top of the stove. The following week it was a dish towel laying on top of it to protect the glass and the same thing happened we finally called Home Depot to discuss this to find out that there was a lock on the stove. The problem is when you were using the oven you cannot lock the burners, therefore while cooking in the oven once again and knob was bumped, turning on the burners, which caused a glass cake pan to shatter and break all over the kitchen. There was absolutely nothing that Home Depot could do for us. I would not recommend purchasing this stove. It is the most dangerous appliance we have ever had and we are stuck with it.
[Rewarded Review] LG is truly the Best
Such a beautiful range to look at and to use and with attention to it after every use I am confident that it will stay this way for a very long time. Everything on it works perfectly and while I would not recommend dial type knobs on the front of it for those with children and pets we as seniors prefer them in front rather than in the back and covering beautiful backsplash. The warming feature on the top and in the back is used by us on a regular basis. I do believe that reading the booklet that comes with it would be really helpful to learn all of the many features it has. In our opinion, LG products are the best and through our hands on experience with an issue on an earlier model LG stood up 100% on their warranty and everything about that service was exceptional. We also just replaced a refrigerator and we insisted on it being an LG.
I would buy this product again.
I had my last LG range for 18 years and loved it. It was the workhorse of my kitchen. My only complaint was that the oven vent discoloured the control panel located above it. So this time I chose a slide in version of that range. I really like the new features and design. I am used to the convection for baking and roasting-it is a game changer! The interior of the oven seems to have a different finish that is super easy to clean. The ceramic cooktop provides even radiant heat and is also great for ease of cleaning provided you do it regularly before food gets cooked on. Also, it will scratch if you slide pot and pans while cooking. Better to lift them first if you want to slide, swirl or shake ingredients or do the slide and flip technique 😉
21 Century Cooking
Good old fashioned cooking, with pinch of technology, and a big dab of beauty. This is replacing a 16year old stove and boy how things have changed for the better. This stove does it all. The convection oven cuts cook times in half which is a huge help after a long day at work. The air frying option is equally as impressive. I often skipped the healthier option of using the counter top air fryer due to the smaller portions it was able to produce. The larger capacity of this stove accommodates much larger servings making it more useful for families. I wasn’t a big fan of having WiFi on an oven. But the first time I was able to check the cook time remaining while relaxing in my massage chair I gained an appreciation for this feature. Now for the first reason you will be drawn to the range, it’s Beauty. This stove looks amazing. While that’s not an important feature for a stove it doesn’t hurt. Everyone that walks into my kitchen notices the new stove immediately and makes note of how beautiful it is and how it adds to the appearance of the kitchen. I did my homework before buying this stove and the biggest complaint was how easy it is to turn the oven on by leaning on it. There is some truth to this. The big beautiful knobs are easy to turn on. But there is a lock out feature that is easily enabled which prevents kids or a pet from accidentally turning the stove on. Very happy with this purchase
Everything works pretty much as expected
Purchased 8/25/23
Fast, consistent heat
After reading many of the reviews, my wife and I were leery when purchasing a new range. But the 2yo one that came with our condo was SO bad, we decided to replace it. We chose the LG, hoping it would provide faster-to-heat and more consistent heating, and we've been super-happy with it because it has given both! Unlike our previous oven, which required 30 mins to reach 400F, this LG gets there in under 15 mins. Also, the burners reach boiling so much faster too. The backlit burner dials are easy to read, as is the main display panel, so I'm not sure what other reviewers have complained about. My only complaint is that the cooktop surface began showing marks within a couple of days, and that's despite being super-careful not to slide cookware on top of it and attempting to clean it after each use. Oh well, I bought it for functionality not beauty.
Waste of money
I've had this range for almost 2 years and have wanted to like it, but it's just terrible. The display is going out, and after some online searching I see this is a common problem with this model, and typically shows up after warranty runs out. One burner only has 2 temperatures - too hot or not hot enough. One burner never heats up enough to boil water. The oven takes forever to heat up. It's usually about 100 degrees below temp when the preheat indicator goes off. At any temperature above 350 the oven gets 25 degrees hotter than it's set at. I'll take the blame for not catching most of these issues within the warranty period. I thought the bad cooking was my fault until I bought an oven thermometer. As a side note, the LG microwave and refrigerator we bought at the same time have also had issues. Don't waste your money on LG appliances.
Worse stove from Lowe's and LG IN MY LIFE
If I could give this a zero rating, I would. Contacted Lowe's multiple times, LG multiple times. Lowe's told us if we used our Lowe's card, we could be covered for 3 months. Noone bothered to tell us that if you use a BUSINESS Lowe's card, until AFTER the 30 days it's covered. LG told me I had to called Lowe's, Lowe's told me I had to call LG. Back and forth for a week. One LG rep said it was covered under their warranty and someone would call me back, nope. Then I called LG and they claim it's not covered. It's a discoloration in the cooktop, nothing else. No scratches or dents yet LG claims they're scratches. Everytime I would connect to a rep and tell me story, as soon as I sent them the photo "I apologize but we are very busy right now, please call this number", as if they trained their reps to disconnect when there was a possible return or exchange. Never in my life have I had such a difficult time trying to get help on an exchange. This stove is only a month and a half old. We use all items LG tells us to and clean it exactly as LG says. This is NOT us. Be forewarned, it's a cheap glass top and now I'm stuck with a discolored top of a stove. I've never owned a glass top stove that does this. And be warned, stay away from Lowe's or LG products!
